100% correct. I'd much rather lose a race than an engine.
I do try to keep it jetted on the rich side. But 2 weeks ago before I had the EGT, I developed an air leak mid race and melted a piston and cracked my cylinder.
In that case, seeing the high EGT temp and pulling off would have saved me about $700 and a lot of wrenching time

I spend all my money rebuilding motors[emoji20]. Hopefully I'll quit being a dumbass now and keep this one together.
I'll look into the pop up idea though. Thanks

Unfortunately I'm still pulling up to the races with an open trailer. Hoping to get an enclosed from a friend at the end of the season. Sucks trying o keep things warm out in the cold wind.
I usually start it up about 3 races before my class to get warm.

Any good advice for keeping it warm besides burning a ton of fuel?
Have you experimented with heat wrap on the head pipe? I've been thinking about trying it if it gets really cold here again. Next weekends race is looking like highs in the mid 30's

Raced today with the new egt setup. It definitely helped with dialing in my jetting for the temp, but I also checked plugs quite often.
I set my warning to come on at 1200f. My max temps during the races were around 1150f. I'm pretty sure I was still jetted a bit rich, but I'd rather be safe at this point. Plus I had no problem walking away from my class with the 10mm cub from Redline.
I jetted on the dyno, just got this as a safety net after melting a piston. I race flat track so need wot for prolonged periods of time

I'm putting a KOSO EGT sensor on today. What is the optimal Egt temp? Where should I set my warning limits?
If it matters, my setup is 10mm cub, shearer sb inframes, 35pwk, vp110 40:1 amsoil dominator

Never seen it done but that doesn't mean it won't work... I just use a rebuilt and shortened stock shock on mine and love it

The grip is one of the things that drew me to the lc9, but I do have the hands of a 12yr old girl.
You should go to a gun store and compare triggers on the lc9 vs lc9s. It's like a completely different gun. And you can't beat the price @ $300.
