Why not keep it real brotha ? Your paying someone to do all the work. Pouring fuel in the tank is about all youll be able to take credit for. I know you dont wanna talk about frauds -
65 may work. Ill pass that info on. How much lead time would you need to do a set of those ?

report back when you know for sure on the 64. i know a guy that might need a set

To much oil = lean condition?
registered user replied to Tyler S's topic in General Banshee Discussion
tricked if you take a stroll through thumpertalk youll see plenty of them foos with spooge all over the rear of the bike with 40 and 60:1 mixes. mostly because they dont know a main jet from a pilot jet. maybe they ride 2mph in 1st gear. its usually a combination of things i can tell you with 100% certainty that it makes little difference if the engine and pipes are stock, 16:1 doesnt smoke like a freight train or spooge all over. as with any mix you tune the carb as such. may need to go up or down a size or two on the jets. guys like gravel talk out their ass then back peddle. not only was he inaccurate but missed the mark completely. missed the whole fuggin barn by a mile. blows oil out the pips= false. sludges the case=false. wont run because the oil content is to high=false. one time he even claimed to be a builder if i recall. a builder of patio furniture aparently -
Can you do a set at 64mm and +4 stroke or is the bore already cast bigger than that ? Hard to tell from the pics

dont snomos use almost no oil at idle and a shitload at full tilt ? that should answer your less is less question. and if less was more then why not 80 or 100:1 ? less is more right ? after all todays oil is so good that just a couple drops will do im still looking for the triple face palm icon for your first comment. you know the one where you said 16:1 just blows oil out the pipes, sludges the crankcase, fouls plugs and wont let the engine run because it just simply doesnt have enough gas mixed in. hopefully any new guys are smart enough to do their own research and dont believe any of that nonsense. only takes a few minutes and all your 16:1 statments can be proven as bullshit -

I always thought a breakin was only for low power stuff like mopeds and such -

Less was less in 1970 and less is still less today. The people who dont understand this are usually the scamsoil nutswingers -

are you a 2yo boy and need someone to hold your hand every moment ? mix up some 16:1 and youll see that nothing in gravels post was even remotely accurate -

its a shame this site is full of bullshit bad info like this. if i didnt know any better i'd swear i was on thumpertalk -
im not suprised one bit crankworks wants nothing to do with stroking a stocker, especially out to 10mm. you would have no material left between the pin and circumference of the web

i think it would be more than a matter of stud alignement. im sure those spread bores cases were intended for larger cylinders of +85mm, according to the website anyways. the machined area for the cylinder skirt will likely be all wrong for what you need, as will the transfer area. and its anybodys guess what diameter crankwebs theyre machined for. if you could get a set of cases with the top half and crankshaft area only partially machined then finish it yourself you might be on to something but other wise i see alot of welding and epoxy needed and remachining when the weld heat warps the piss out of em. better off to stay with bolt together matching parts imo -

not to bust your balls but im not sure why you made the thread to begin with. 35yrs experience you should know what your up against. ancient tech. sure you can incorporate some modern ideas to these old dinosaurs but at the end of the day your still building onto a ancient foundation. you should know this already i would hope ????? since your willing to dump a mountain of cash on billet cases, why not do something better and design some cases in CAD and send the drawings over to matoon and have it made. use the 70hp cr250 cylinders and youll be a leg up on all of us if your not happy with engines available to you, make something better. thats what a good tuner would do -
so Kicking compression doesnt matter now ? Gonna have all these guys pissed off buwahaha

When someone is reluctant to show pics its often times a matter of not wanting what theyre doing to be duplicated. It doesnt take a genius, engineer, inventor, to put together a unique collection of ideas different from everyone else. Might have a coil or clutch cover you could look at but alot of the other stuff is out of the question
-
As a mechanical engineer you would think zilla woulb be the inspiration for you guys to find better ways to do stuff but that doesnt seem to be the case. Eh what a shame
-
What do you think cools the piston top each time the transfers open. Heat the fuel if you want. May as well heat the crankcase and inlet air while your at it
-
Fuel is a cooling source to the piston. Knowing that, what sense does it make to intensionaly heat it ?
-
without air you may as well not even have a rad. ride faster or get a fan. have you taken the factory plastic bezels off ? if so put em back on. most guys are clueless to some of this stuff. a rad positioned down low behind all the suspension components is a bad idea. to add on to this bad idea the rad ususally has no type of sheilding. without any type of sheilding most of the air just simply goes around the rad without going through it. what little air does go through the fins gets heated and dumped right onto the front of the engine. a better way is keep the rad up high with side sheilding and some kind of heat insulator between your rad and fuel tank. heating your fuel is not good either

Too much oil in the pre mix?

best thing you could do is ditch amsoil altogether and go 927 or klotz. amsoil has the consistency of water and thats before its diluted with the fuel -
Does this look like good port work?
registered user replied to jeff n's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
How comes there aint ever any cool port jobs around here. Ya know the ones with alittle weld here. Alittle epoxy there. Boyesens and triples. Fuck all that cookie cutter bullshit
