  1. im thinking someone did the work way back in the day. doing something like that today wouldnt make any sense. ktm been using nikisil since '85 and probly even earlier. plus at that time the stroke was nearly 70mm so the sleeve from that time period would be all wrong. its easy enough to take a blank sleeve and cut the windows any where you want ,which is what im thinking they did
  2. some guys have claimed to put a gauge before and after the rad and say there was only a 10* difference but thats hard to believe unless the bike was hardly moving then it makes perfect sense. measuring the water somewhere near where it exits the engine seems most logical to me
  3. if your asking about a plane jane hotrods your better off putting it in the scrap bin and getting a new one. parts, labor and shipping will exceed what a new one cost. about the only time it makes sens to rebuild is with a high dollar billet or rare situations where specialized bearings and rods are used
  4. roller bearings can vary quit a bit in price depending on brand and where you buy em. local bearing house is likely in the 80-$90 range. ebay range is approx 50-$90. i picked up some for about $60 each and thought that was a great deal
  5. are they just oem fzr100 plates or what ever street bike plates everyone uses or something else ?
  6. aint a bad idea to get some info on wsm if you can. got a crankshaft for the time being but who knows when it might blow up or ill just want a different one.
  7. anybody find out where the wsm crankshafts are meade ?
  8. it might be alittle far fetched for the pin to rip through the web hole but certainly what can happen is a crack develop above the pin where material gets thin. you can be into a hotrods well over a grand (thats including the initial $400 to purchase it) depending what you have done and the components installed on it and if you can do any of the work yourself and if any case work needs done. depends on your budget and how you want it setup. quit a few options to pick from
  9. crankworks told me a grand for billet +4 webs about a month ago thats why i decided to take a chance with hotrods. hopefully i dont regret it. for the way i wanted the crank done and case work i would of been in it almost 2g with crankworks webs
  10. for 8 bills its probly all chinese or taiwan. you cant barely take apart a +4 hotrods and put good bearings on it for 8 bills
  11. theyre known as fuse welds from tig torch with no filler.
  12. i wouldnt chamfer nothing if you dont know how. otherwise youll have it fuked up. ports will open before theyre supposed to etc.
  13. a sturdy crankshaft aint cheap thats fo damn sure hommie. drop 15 benjamins on one and you can be in da ballerz club
  14. its always money is no object until its time to open the wallet and theres nothin but cobwebs in it
  15. if da tires aint breakin loose better getcha sum more powa brotha
  16. you already started the same topic 1.5 weeks ago. theres no mx port on the planet thats fast as hell. sorry to be the bearer of bad news
  17. .002-.003 is nothing i would bother with. your method of measuring could be at fault for all we know but do as you wish. shouldnt need any heat for the studs. go to autozone and rent their extractor set like the one bennet posted. 5min later youll have them all out. now why were you removing the studs again ? oh ya to correct a .003 variance
  18. who was the guy making fake coned pipes with a propane torch ?
  19. ill bet it does fit perfect since your not using oem hoses. likely theyre smaller diam
  20. i never said they were junk or poorly made but why not make them proper sized for the intended hose ? anyone ? sorry if i stepped on some toes but thats how i see it
  21. eat shit dickface. i merely said those gauge blocks are sized more for motorcycle sized hoses. ya they can work on a banshee if you tighten the fuck out of the clamp, other wise they leak. did i mention to eat shit
  22. not exactly. if you look closer it has 2 large chanells that divert oil back to the transmission compartment. directly above the mainshaft to be specific
  23. Those redline ones are the same size as esr. Loose as fuck in the banshee size hose. Have to tightenen the piss out of the clamp
