  1. Well port work is the next best thing to pipes getting put on and tuned.
  2. Says he wants the money to put a shop up at his house. I'm not sure why he doesnt ride anymore he was pretty good. Said mostly he cant afford to get hurt, but hell your more likely to die on the way to work in a car these days. I kinda doubt he'll ever ride again, we've asked him to go a couple of times and he wont go anymore. Heck I dont think he's rode in over a year. I like it too much to quit riding, love the power and its a good frustration and stress reliever. Dont know if he has sold it yet or not he hasnt said.
  3. No that's a different Scott from Whitesboro. You are wanting to talk to Scott Sanders. He still has the tires that I know of. He's trying to sell the bike and was going to sell the tires with it, so if you want them you might give him a shout soon. Dont' know if the guy came to look at the bike or not yet.
  4. I bought a 5 pack from my local dealer out of the Parts Unlimited catalog for about $15. Get's you a pretty good range of jets.
  5. Well with Easter being on Sunday we likely wont ride that day. So if dad doesnt work then were both going somewhere on Saturday. Or I may just go up to Murray and ride by my lonesome on saturday, get a little more ride time before the race the following weekend.
  6. Trick if you give me an idea where you are at I could tell you how to get there. Take Hwy 82 to Muenster basically and when you get to the only stop light in that town turn North and follow that Hwy until you see the riding park on the right. Scott we can hook up and go ride some time. We'll be riding next weekend too, the racing the next weekend in Pittsburg. Give me a shout.
  7. Yeah one in the same. Also called red river motorcycle trails I think too.
  8. Come on out if anyones interested. Got some folks from over at Texasatvs.com that are going out there on Sunday. One of them has a new Honda 450, could be some going on.
  9. We pulled the cover last night to make sure that werent any visibly broken wires on the stator even though it tested fine. Everything looked good other than the air gap on the pick up may need to be regapped. We're going to pull the wiring harness tonight and see how it goes. Just wasnt meant to race I guess.
  10. Oh i'm all up for burning a 400ex. They make good fire kindling. Hopefully we can figure it out tonight. Shee's been pretty dependable over the years, thought maybe if I talk enough smack to her she'll straighten up and haul a$$ right. I couldnt burn it if I wanted to, only thing better than her is my truck!
  11. Definitely not caps and wires we swapped the whole coil off of another bike wires and caps included. I guess we'll pull the wiring harness tonight and start looking for bad wires or connections there. Bad shee keeps this up shee'll find a new home and I'll get a new 450 instead. Scott i'd love to go to the dunes this weekend, but I'll be lucky if we get the bike running tonight. Tomorrow we finish the NOS install on my truck so the bike has to be fixed tonight or else shee's getting a can of gas and a match for dinner. We did check all the resistance and such on everything that's how we ruled everything out. I'm guessing it must be a wiring issue somewhere though since all the main components have been ruled GOOD.
  12. I was riding the other day and got off the bike to look down a hill, when I got back on the bike wouldn't start. Sat there for a bit and was about to get a tow strap and finally it started. Last night I'm cleaning the bike and prepping for a race this weekend. Well I get done and go to ride it in the trailer and well heck it won't start again. We checked the handlebar switch, the kill switch, the stator, the pickup coil on the stator, swapped a coil off a running bike, swapped a CDI off a running bike, checked all plug connections, looked for bare wires and yet we still have no fire in the hole. Anyone have any suggestions to try tonight or im out on racing this weekend.
  13. Hey "sredish" didnt know that there were anymore banshee riders in Whitesboro. The other ones that used to ride with us got married and dont ride anymore I guess. There are still a few that ride, 2 banshee, a LTZ400, and a warrior. We're always looking for more folks to ride with and add to the group. If you're interested give me a shout sometime.
  14. Make sure its the stem that is tweeked and not the anti vibe bolts and such that are bent in the connecting area. had a friend that his looked tweeked and it was just the bolts that bent that go through the handlebar clamp.
  15. Geez no wonder there are so mant aftermarket companies. makes me wonder how the dealerships stay in business charging what they do. But some folks just dont know I guess. There's almost always some place else to buy what you want other than at the dealerships nowadays. I bought a pack of 5 jets for my single carb and it was only $12. GO Keihin! I have found several carb places that sell parts, and if you have to buy Yamaha stuff check www.rivaracing.com and compare prices with your dealership you'll be amazed at the price difference.
  16. The razr2 on the front are the best tires ive ran so far hands down. If you are in any kind of remotely damp earth you can rail around corners with those things. I dont like the regular razr fronts knobs are shorter and spacing is different on them.
  17. I would be interested in the nerf bars if you shoot a reasonable price on them?
  18. They show at 2 times. It's 6pm and 12 am here in Texas. Adjust to your time zone accordingly. I've watched it the last three weeks and am amazed at how fast and consistent Bill Ballance is. I'm looking forward to the race they are having in Texas this year. Definitely going to try and make to that GNCC race.
  19. Probably boyesen reeds. I think FMF reeds retain the metal stops, and boyesen do not.
  20. Yeah Mxing and the frame cracking doesnt make for a good combination. You going to gussett it yourself, have a pwdercoater line up yet? The guy here in Sherman does a pretty good job on the powdercoating. He did some parts for my truck and they looked great. He still has my swingarm though, have to go by today and see what's up. OCCRA posted an article that GNCC is on tonight at 6pm on SPEDD channel, if you like GNCC stuff. 2 different races they'll be showing, one in GA and one in FL. I think we'll try and ride sometime over the weekend hoepfully.
  21. Graphics are pretty easy but definitely make sure that the plastic is clean and it is warm where ever you do it like mentioned above. As for the seat cover the tribal graphics seat cover alba sells was the biggest PIA that I have ever done. The next one I bought I took to an upholstery shop and they put it on for $18. Best headache free $18 I ever spent.
  22. Thanks for the props on the truck Dale. I had forgotten you'd been by the house and seen it before. New trany is coming in a few weeks and the NOS kit is already here. Havent read the forum since friday to see that you were going to Jills on Sunday. Did you still go, it was hella cold out Sunday! Just where have you been hiding at? We havent done much riding since we got back from the dunes. It seems to be one thing after another. Bike will be going down for a couple of weeks in about a month I think. Taking the shocks to your guy at Bullet Motorsports for a service and some adjustments on the rear shock. Waiting on the extra swingarm I bought to come back from powdercoating too. You been MXing much lately? Dad tends to want to stay away from the tracks now, and mostly dodge trees and ravines. Me too though for the most part.
  23. Yeah we went to LS in mid august this year. Usually take a trip for a long weekend up there and then take a whole week in the fall and go with some friends that come down from Indiana. The bike has come along nicely over the last few years. No pics of the bike since it got new graphics and bumper and such. Need to take some this weekend before the race starts I guess. No pics of me either. Definitely not the hottie like Corry that everyone is drooling over. As much as you guys say you like girls that ride quads get real. They must grow you fellas different than they do in Texas. Cause guys around here are down right intimidated by a woman on a fast bike. They think its cool till all they see is exhaust fumes and dirt flying in front of them.
  24. So do you ride at Little Sahara much? I swear I thought I've seen that yellow banshee there before. We go there about twice a year, the rest of the time we play in the woods mostly. There are several places we go to ride but all are within about 2 hours of home. Ported, bored, single carb, vforce reeds, cool head 20cc, k&n no lid, T5's, lightened flywheel, timing plate, denton stabilizer, renthal bars, one graphics, prm baja bumper, ac grab, acerbis handguards, armadillo skid, works dual (front) ultracross w/rezzy (rear), razr's frt and bk .190 wheels. Swingarm, aarms, and frame are all powdercoated. Some small polished goodies to boot.
  25. There arent many lady quad riders on here are there? I stay away from the MX now but XC is a blast. Would like to get into some organized races this spring. The banshee is finally ready to kick some booty!
