  1. BENBB I think you came over to the trailer and was talking to my dad Subday morning while he was putting the chain on the banshee that busted the day before.
  2. What you talkin about Wilis? What happened to ya Scott? I came back from gettin dad water at the end and you had hauled ass already. Give us the info, dad said he saw you sitting at the bottom of the turn by the creek bed. You didnt break anything did ya, I mean on you or the quad? I caught some lucky breaks or id been screwed.
  3. Hey Ben it was nice to meet ya this weekend. I thought I recognized the bike from somewhere and then I saw the bansheehq.com sticker and realized where I had seen it. You sure pulled out a good finish in the end it looked like! Good job!
  4. Well I just bought a new truck at Thanksgiving and love it. Drove the Canyon and Colorado, not bad a little shy on power to suit me and that was during an unloaded test drive. I'm mostly a chevy fan at heart. I dont see the I5 being around long before they upgrade it to a 6 cyl. And all in all in still feels like a s10. It rides like one and felt like it had the same interior space as one nearly. I like my dads powerstroke but that kinda truck was just way too big for me and my needs. Rides good for a 3/4 ton truck. I never thought id do it but I bought a non domestic sort of. Not one of the big four companies but still made in America. I ended up in a 05 Toyota Tacoma double cab TRD sport. In one word summarizing what I think about this truck, AWESOME would be it. Rides fantastic even though it has the sport suspension, interior is really nice, runs like a dog with its ass on fire, handles terrific(had to dodge a skunk the other night). Easily tows all my riding gear, the trailer, quad, and whatever else as fast as you wanna go without struggling. Unlike the 4.3 V6 in my blazer which was a terd. Mileage isnt what the window sticker said(22 on the higway), but I do a mix of city and hwy and its around 18-19.5 dpending on how you drive. Its like a banshee the harder you driver the better it runs, but the more gas it sucks. All in all I wouldnt think twice about buying another one in a year or two so far. I liked it also because all the trucks have gotten so boxy looking and wanted something that had some style and curves to it, this definitely fit the bill. I dont like the regular SR5 models but the TRD models are great looking trucks.
  5. It's hard to lose anyone you love, but when you lose a sibling it's like getting a load of bricks dropped on you. It took years to come to terms with my younger brother dying. Remember the best of times and their memory always lives on through those left behind. I imagine it's even harder when it's a senseless death at the hands of dispicable men like that. No punishment will fit the crime. My condolences to you and your family in a trying time like this.
  6. We've been trying to figure out what to do first. Exhaust, gauges, chip/programmer? I wondered about the differences in exhaust especially since the prices have varied from $400 to over $1000. I would guess they are all basically the same unless it's SS or aluminized. I have been checking into an Edge Evolution, but I thought maybe the exhaust should be done first. We were thinking of just a drop in filter since we're in dusty and sandy conditions when we're riding or out racing. I'll hit sredish up when he gets back in town about the gauges. Would it hurt to go ahead and do the exhaust and then do the gauges in a month or so? Thanks for the info boonman.
  7. SO what would a set of gauges run for a 7.3 anyways? Any places you can recommend to check. Recommendations on chips and such for the computer, Hypertech-bully dog- etc? Exhaust recommendations also?
  8. Dale we're gonna have to hook up and do some riding when you get home. Maybe you can meet me after work one day and go ride at North 40 in Sherman. Plus Gainesville Powersports is doing another Customer Appreciation ride day at Bulcher so you get a ticker over there and you get to ride for free and they even feed ya. Its in late April I think the 24th.
  9. Lots of people get their stuff jacked out of their trucks. Unless my truck was in a garage id likely never leave my quad in the back of it. Too many frigging thieves these days that want to take something and not work for it. Even when I cable lock my quad to the trailer I dont go any further from it than I can still have it within sight. We even lock the bikes up at the sand dunes now most of the time. I'm glad quad insurance is cheap at least if something happens I'll get part of my money back.
  10. Here's my question. The freak of nature worked at several schools including the one that the little girl went too. He was a criminal sex offender before that as I understand. How in the hell does a school hire someone like this and not do a god dang back ground check? The father should sue their ass for putting his daughter in harms way. As for how Couey should be punished, there is none befitting the crime he committed against that little girl. No one deserves that especially a child. He should be put in general population. Then we wouldnt have to pay for the trial as taxpayers cause he'd never make it that long. Instead now he'll likely sit on death row for another 20 years at our expense. Castration with no anesthesia, followed by a draggin behind a car of rednecks, to be followed by a pulic lynching. Send him to Texas we fry em up right here and plenty more often than any other state.
  11. Here's a link to some chicks riding. This was our XC race this weekend. Largest group i've raced in yet we had 8 in our class. http://www.atvccs.net/gallery/album29
  12. Might try the forum on the Traxxas web site. Lots sell there.
  13. Dang Scott how you going to sneak the $2500 front end in the house!
  14. I would also think about ATV insurance that is best of all. Usually doesnt cost that much and its a good piece of mind. Motion detectors are nice and all but if no ones home then no one hears them. Neighbors these days usually suck too, they would sit and watch your shit get stolen before lifting a finger to help prevent it. If you like locks try a snake cable, about an 1" in diameter and its jointed every inch or so very difficult to cut. I know a guy that thought his stuff was safe in his 30X40 shop all locked up too, and the thieving bastids unscrewed the sheet metal off the back wall and got in and took his quads. Some kind of pipe guard that would drop down over the door and lock in place so they cant roll them out. Here's a sample snake lock. http://www.rockymountainatv.com/Product_De...tv?pid=00039587
  15. Scott you dirty rotten Yamaha traitor I heard you're buying a HONDA. What the #@$% are you thinkin man. I said buy a thumper not a stumper! This news deeply saddens me and makes me want to Okay enough dramatics I'm sure you'll like it. At least get them to set you up on a discount since you cant buy at Gainesville now. Although I did hear there is a Honda shop opening in Gainesville this year. Are they doing you right on trade in? Going to North 40 Saturday if you're interested give me a shout.
  16. Man you better get hopping, cause it's gonna take you a month of weekends riding and some mods to get comfortable racing it you slow poke! Come over to the dark side my brother.... You get many bites yet, you know if you stripped it Gainesville Powersports takes trades now. Might take a look at YFZ Central for used ones for sale if you wanna go that route also.
  17. You might double check your jetting. I know its been pretty warm, and then to race when its that cold dont want to be leaning her out right after you put it back together. Clean filter, fresh oil, good plugs, I always run over most of the bolts on the bike, check the chain adjustments and slack. Good luck this weekend! Try not to pop sicle before you finish. You racing both series? Looks like we wont make it to a race until the March West race in Chico. So see ya then or sooner I guess. Build a track in your back yard already man! I think you know what needs to be done anyway, you're just a post hoe!
  18. Better be real careful with their financing options. $39 sound all fine and dandy until you dont have it paid off in the two years then interest eats you alive. $39 a month will likely barely cover the interest you accrue on it. I was pretty sure I'd have the bike paid off in a year but to be on the safe side I opted for the 6.9% for 4 years just in case hard times came about. Because remember this is a revolving account just like a credit card where interest accrues monthly on your balance, not like an installment account where you have set payments for a set amount of time. Dont be scammed by the Yamaha finance propaganda. You do have to watch the late payments too, friend made one late payment between changing jobs and interest rate jumped to over 20%. Still paying on the bike the monthly minimum and he hasnt owned it in over a year.
  19. You never know until you ask. If theres enough interest through the year he'll do it. Just like they asked for an over 50+ class and they got it this year. David did a good job sorting out the classes this year. A good variety for everyone but eliminated a few that werent producing. It looks like I'll be sticking with mostly West series races, maybe 1-2 east races and that will be it though. Scott we're riding on the 23rd barring weather complications. Sanders swears he's coming this time, one of our buddies has been talking smack so I think he's ready to put the smack down on him once and for all. Pye I thought you lived in the metro area and would be closer to the West races? Good job on getting bumped, progress is always good.
  20. Traxxas REVO 4WD monster truck. Truck runs excellent. This is a ready to run truck, everything you need to backyard bash your buddies or take it to the track. All you will need is fuel and you are ready to go. Selling due to lack of interest, cross country season starts soon and I
  21. A steering stabilizer is also a good idea. Just put a new Denton rebuildable on the 450 and it is awesome. Handguards also a good idea. Keeps the crap out of the controls, and helps with flying debris to keep your hands roost free and safe. Good tires and good skids are always a safe bet. Good rims also nice, dont want a blown bead to end your day of racing. I've been running 21" fronts and 20" rears forever and have yet to have clearance issues when riding. The places I have had trouble well it would have taken some 33" super swampers to have done much good, live and learn the good path and not so good path through the woods I guess. If you are still running the stock pegs I used to dremel mine and put a little bit of a point on them for better footing when the going gets wet and muddy. Some good suspension is key like SREDISH said, can make the difference at the end of the race from making you feel like the the banshee rode you instead of you riding it. The banshee is definitely fun in the woods but can be tiring when you're running all out for 2 hours. Dont foget about all the things to make your ride more comfortable when it comes to you also not just the bike. There are always things you can do personally to help prepare you physically. If you've already done a few races then Im sure you already know this though.
  22. Well i'd have to agree the weather flat out blows. It seems like its been a month or better since I rode, and even the last time I went it was like riding in a swamp all day long. Seems like 40 a couple of days ago and its 75 up here today. Mother nature really is a byatch! She better make her mind up, poor 450 might as well be in perma storage at this rate. Not riding it makes me want to buy shyt for it to pass the time, so I bought a new truck instead!
  23. Heck man why wait. There's a race this weekend, and then the last of the season is on Dec 5th. The new schedule is supposed to be out in about a week or so is what I was told. The races are a blast and many good people to meet. I'd have to say that I met more people at the last race I went to and didnt even race than I did at the 2 races I did race at. If you think your endurance isnt up to par then work on it. Its definitely harder than anyone thinks, or at least what I thought. Good luck.
  24. Try www.atvccs.com that is the XC series that we run. They will be having an east and west series next year but the schedule is not up as of yet.
  25. I thought id give rocky ridge a try again since I hadnt been in years. Its nice to know some things never change. The only thing that had changed was the place was even more run down than I remember it. For $10 a head there are far better places to go. Murray is coming along nicely we were up there this past sunday and they have definitely been busy making improvements. They have the paths bulldozed for new camp sites, looks like the electrical and water are nearly in place. Just waiting for concrete slabs for the rv's. They have added many more concrete pad primitive sites also. There were probably at least another 6-10 that werent there last time I was there. That is cool that they will be adding more land, since they fenced off a pretty good chunk. They did fence off a real nice section that connected a lot of trails, but most of what they fenced was not being ridden on. No trails that we could see for the most part when it was open way on the east side of the property, over the east side of the gravel road. It was fun for trail blazing though and making new ones. You can still ride the sand road down to the store you just have to crawl through the fence and walk across the road. You can ride at night we asked about that. She said that if you were a paying camper there you could ride at night. That's what the gate lady said anyway.
