  1. As described I have a pair of Alpinestar Tech 6 boots size adult 8 and black in color. Boots are brand new nearly. Have some tiny scuffs on the metal toe cap. Bought them in a size 8 like my other Alpinestars but they are a size too big. Sizes must have changed a bit. Super nice boots, definitely getting another pair, just a size smaller. Most places sell for $230+ new, I'd like to get $150 for them and that includes shipping. email jgasparas@hotmail.com
  2. I seem to recall someone telling me about a carb like that. I thought it was called a multi venturi carb or something like that. Starts as one size and the tapers to another along the way. Could be wrong though.
  3. I hope all is well by this weekend, need more ride time before the next race. How'd you like your lightened flywheel Scott? So you looking at a month or so before you can ride again. You got any pain killers to share! Dale got to love the trickiness of the dune tops huh? I've been really lucky at the dunes knock on sand, and usually just tear something up on the bike. So you going to Aledo next month? I was lucky enough to not make contact with any of the plush sand at Murray mostly the nicely hard packed clay that is all over out there. Everyone needs to heal up so we can all go ride sometime soon!
  4. He told me to use an extra ounce of whatever oil I was using to mix with. And if you're using Kmart oil you shouldnt own a banshee. The extra bit of oil has something to due with the BTU's that gas and tolulene burn at. Tolulene he said has a washing effect and will burn more of the oil up. It was a long discussion and most was over my head in terms of BTU and burning rates. He has several racers running it up there and they've had no problems so far. he explained it to me and i'll see if I can find the email that he sent me.
  5. Sounds like everyone had a riding adventure this weekend. I'll share my adventure to Lake Murray with everyone. Started out rather great at least for about the first 15-20 minutes or so. I decide to dart down a trail that I dont remember ever going down before. Had a lot of off camber stuff and you could tell where it had a good grade down the whole thing due to the water runoffs. You know I like a crisp throttle as much as the next person on a banshee, but this time I could have gone for a dead spot in throttle instead. I'm heading down the slope and I see where its washed out, you go down and then it veers right. SO much water had washed down the hill that it exposed some tree roots. The roots stuck out in the trail about 2 feet or so. So I hit the roots, bounces me over into a ledge then stuff the front of the bike into the face of the other side of the washout. Well when this happens the bike is sideways already and im heading right for a tree. Happened too fast to do much of anything to prepare for it. Heck I barely got OH SHIT out of mouth then impact. Banshee and the tree decided to make me into a jen sandwich. Arm and shoulder were in front of the tree ribs and hip were behind the tree. Then due to all the washout, some nice 3" roots from the same tree that tried to eat me were kind enough to break my heads fall after it already hit the tree and before I head dived into the ground. Triple head smack from start to finish in the crash. The banshee was kind enough to go ahead and roll over the ledge and pin me to the ground. I swear I think it was trying to kill me! Knocked the wind out of me, got a bad case of tree rash from my elbow to somehow under my armpit, one slightly pulled muscle in my left leg, re twisted my knee from a month ago that was almost back to normal, and a rib cage that feels like it got used for a punching bag in a street fight complimented by some pretty nasty bruises. I'd have to say that its the first time I've hit my head hard enough that its made me dizzy and ready to throw up. Needless to say, it was a kinda wasted trip since I was almost knocked goofy in the first 30 minutes we were there. And it was my dads birthday on top of that, so it kinda messed up his day too. My opinion of crashing, well it just flat out SUCKS! But at least the Banshee was okay other than having to break down two rims and dig everything out of the beads.
  6. I should be at the Jacksonville race. There usually arent too many banshees there. There were about a half dozen or so at the last race. Come by and chat if you see us. Gray ext cab 4x4 chevrolet w/ blue enclosed trailer. One white banshee #7(me) and one red w/alba tribal flame kit #307(dad). We're easy to find, i'm the only chick on a banshee.
  7. Well several of the posts I read and after talking to my motor builder. Who also happened to recommend this to me just said to add and extra ounce of oil to a 5 gallon can I believe due to the cleaning properties of the Tolulene. Weedeater runs good on it, and its a two stroke!
  8. I've been meaning to try it but have not mixed up a batch yet. I was going to try mixing it for my truck to get a little more octane to tun with the nitrous that we just installed. Not many topics in here on it, but i've been to several car web sites that talk about it. Mostly for turboed cars and guys from California that cant get the good octane at the pump like some folks can. I may try it in th truck first, the banshee seems to be running good on pump 93 for now. Although compression is border line on running a little more octane. If anyone does try it let me know. And if I do i'll post some info on the results and how it worked.
  9. Sure here ya go. www.atvccs.com Give some good pics of the races and some good info.
  10. Octane booster is a big myth that most dont understand the workings of. The labels on boosters are misleading in reading. If you contact the manufacturer they will tell you the truth most of the time, which is far from what the label leads you to believe. I talked to someone that used to work at a gas manufacturing plant and he set me straight along with some informed reading on the net. Octane booster generally reads that it bumps your octane lets say 3 points okay. Well that would lead you to beleive that they mean 3 whole points right. Wrong it means that it bumps your octane .3 points, yep that's right add the decimal in front not behind. Mix your own octane booster. Most boosters are tolulene based. Get the formula and mix tolulene with gas in the right formula and instant octane booster. A gallon of tolulene run about $7-9 where im at. Do some research and you'll find a lot of information on it.
  11. I ran the one in Weatherford this past weekend. I had a blast its my second race with ATVCCS. It keeps growing with every race, this last one had about 100 racers turnout.
  12. On many things they are year specific because of plugs. But i've already had to go the stator and CDI route. For some reason the cdi for the older bikes is more than the newer ones. So I bought a newer one it had one extra wire on it, spliced it in to my system and all was good. Kinda like when you order a stator from Ricky Stator, comes with no plug on it. You have to splice your own on. This may not work for everything but it does work for some stuff.
  13. Also depends on what type of racing you are talking about doing. Setup for MX and for XC are a little different. Race it stock if you want to and as you get money see what is most beneficial for you to buy first. Suspension is always the best start like everyone has said. Nerf bars and a kill switch are definitely a good idea and not very costly for the benefits they provide. Definitely go wider if you are MXing. Work on bringing your bottom end of to par also, a good setup with carbs port work and pipes can help alot. Good luck with racing!
  14. Let the dumb SOB's starve since they keep blowing up the food convoys, let them dehydrate since they keep blowing up the water trucks too, and let them tie notes to dogs that they havent eaten yet to run messages back and forth since they seem to like to blow up every thing that involves telecommunication infrastructures. To hell with giving Saddam back to the Iraqi government that is run by his former military personnel. They need to string him and Osama up and use them as pinatas. Most seem to not want help over there, let them fend for themselves.
  15. Yeah boy someone works REAL hard. Gez no wonder you never have time to ride. I hope it rains at the dunes since you're going and I'm not.
  16. You better watch it she wont let you go if she hears that kinda talk!
  17. about 170 right now and running good.
  18. Bought a multi pack out of the parts unlimted catalog at the dealer for about 15 bucks.
  19. If they are the old style nerfs you will need to order the nets directly from DG, if they are the kind that loop through the holes then you can get them from ROcky Mountain for about $18 they will work on the old style but you'll have to pop rivet them in places because the straps are not long enough to go al the way around. Didnt notice what type of bars you had.
  20. Well I just went through some electrical problems myself. But it would seem that being mechanically inclined you would have checked for spark. Then if you werent getting any you would start testing and by process of elimination you would have found the problem. Mine was just a wire had been pulled loose from the plug that goes to the CDI. Simple fix once we tracked it down. You could always run the cool head but buy some different domes to lower the compression a bit if you wanted.
  21. It may have something to do with how much is taken off too. I dont know if there is a standard amount or if different people take off different amounts. Love it in the sand whoops where we ride too, just a blip at the top and double over em all the time.
  22. Might try www.sudco.com bought some parts there for my PWK carbs.
  23. Rid yourself of the stock air filter immediately. Anything is an improvement over the stock one. Keep your oil changed in the trans. Use a quality mix oil and mix correctly. Use good gas dont be cheap. An inline fuel filter is cheap and always a good idea. Chain adjustment is by far the worst but normally once it has done a little stretching it is set and you wont have to mess with it again. Keep everything greased. Keep a check on the coolant levels, tends to puke some here and there. Pretty basic stuff like you do on any quad or bike. Any good manual will be a great addition to the banshee too. We bought the Yamaha manuals though. Dont know the difference between the Clymer and the Yamaha manual. The Yamaha one has a lot of spec info on torque specs and electrical components.
  24. It does snap out of the turns. But before when you came in to a tight turn in the woods pretty hot you could jab the brakes and spin around. Now i get a little jab happy or jab um too hard and I stalled it a few times when I first got the flywheel on. It seemed more prone to less mass falling off of the RPM's faster than the original mass of the flywheel. There's quite a bit of difference in the turns on a TT track, and the tight knit woods we ride in. All in all I love it even in woods riding it just took a bit of rider adjustment to know how the shee reacted to the flywheel. Good investment all in all!
  25. Loved the mod on my banshee! Big difference to me in the revs. Much faster and responsive. Cost me about $45 to get it done. Only difference I noticed that took some adjustment to my riding style was as fast as it revs it equally falls as fast, so before when I could dive into a corner and jab the brakes to seing around and it worked fine. Now I have towatch how hard I jab or it'll stall the bike, use the clutch a little more now in tight turns than before is all. I've adjusted to the flywheel and dont even notice it now inthe turns.
