Toomey has a distinct sound to it. Especially at high speeds. That's like saying all 2 strokes sound alike and they dont. I imagine Toomey is trying to step into the market in another area, which if its a good pipe will only make him that much more money. Always nice to expand your product line to bring in more customers. I really like my HMF, but Toomey was awesome on the banshee and I would not hesitate to be a repeat customer to Toomey again.

Hey Redish you and colonel sanders ever going to come out and play or are ya'lls quads just so fast your're scared to ride them? Have you given up on XC for the rest of the year? No excuses needed or accepted! Get out and ride suckas!

It's almost like a form of mass brain washing on the American people. We get so used to paying say$2.20 a gal that when it drops to $2.00 a gal we think we're getting some special deal or something. At least until you think back to a year ago when it was probably $1.50 a gal.
-
Jesus is that american dollars or got dang rubels? 87 here is about $2.12 at a few places. These stinkin gas prices are ridiculous. What about diesel prices too? They are even more ridiculous around here. I think its about time to buy the biodiesel setup and start selling it by the 55 gal drum to people. Heck you could sell it for $1.50 a gal and nearly double your money on it per gal.

How about paying cash for a brand new R1 and not having gotten your insurance yet. You go to the dealer to pick it up and load it on the trailer. Next thing you know on the way home the trailer comes unhitched, eats the higway, head for the ditch and totals out the new R1 with no insurance on it yet. That's a bad day for someone right there, thank goodness it wasnt me!

So what brought you to Texas to start with? Might try www.texasatvs.com also. Lot of good ole Texas folks there also.

Sheez I thought he was dead since he dont ride anymore. The way he rides that Honda I think he needs some Geritol and a paramedic to check his pulse! All kidding aside Happy Bday geezer.

Ive seen it several times with guy friends of mine. They buy their girlfriend a bike cause they bitch and complain they want to go ride with them and have fun. Then inside of a couple of months they generally quit riding. Dont waste a lot of money on anything until you know if she'll ride regularly or not. Some will, but a majority wont. As for choices though like everyone else said a 400ex or a warrior. Both decent starter quads and you can get them reasonably cheap, and can resell them easily when or if she quits riding.

Well i didnt get back on last night and check here. I went this morning for a couple of hours. I was surprised to see so much mud up there after the dust bowl we played in in SanAngelo last weekend. Maybe next weekend.
-
I'm going to try and head up there in the morning for a couple of hours. Unless something happens tonight at the drag races that is. I'll be in a 05 Tacoma double cab, black utility trailer in tow. Name is Jennifer by the way just stop by if you want.

Yep dad is going to start working on the track this weekend I believe. Sahara is a little warm this time of year unless you catch a weekend when it happens to cool off which doesnt usually happen. After racing in 105+ degree temps last weekend i'll have to pass on Sahara until it cools down a bit. Thought i was gonna stroke out in the heat out in West Texas. Anybody up for Murray on Saturday? I'm not super fast as a rider but i've been out there enough that im not going to get lost if I get seperated from the speed demons. I might head up there early and ride before it gets hot. Then go to Sherman on Sunday if they'll let us ride, dont know for sure when he's starting the track changes but it will be soon.

I really like the 450 so far. I had a banshee but sold it to my dad and then he sold his to a friend. I think to a degree even I underestimated the capabilities of the 450 when I bought it. Although I dont drag race much anymore, my buddy pulled the stuffer in the pipe added an air filter, and did a bit of jetting and he had no trouble staying right with the banshees or being ahead just a bit. Its been a good bike so far and much more suitable for XC racing than the banshee was for me, it doesnt tire me out so much at the end of the day. I do miss that snappy power at the dunes though. We're trying to make a dune trip sometime in September or October I think once it starts to cool off just a bit. I love going up there and we usually have some friends from Indiana that meet us up there. If you are talking about the place in Bonham, Tx on the red river I dont know that I'd waste my time going up there. Its pretty small. Unless some things have changed the jump area is more like a dune supercross track. It bordered on needing paddles tires the sand was so thick. They had carpet laying across the front of the jumps I guess to prevent erosion and such. Good place for utilities cause they played in the river a lot. That place ranks up there with Rocky Ridge, I wont go back to either one. And if they were the only places to ride i'd likely sell my bike. You much as far as MX? Nice little track in Sherman we go to. Not very technical, but fun on a banshee because its a good haulin @$$ track. I can run most of it on the 450 in 4th and 5th gear. They are planning on a remodel during the summer I know to improve jumps and change the track design.

My pops has a banshee, and about 4-5 other friends have shees too. I'm on a 450 though. We're about 45 min or so from Murray. Havent been there much the last couple of months though. But now that race season is winding down maybe a few trips are in order.

A complete guide to POOPING at work
BansheeJen replied to Slammin Full Bore's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I dont know what firework you call it some kind of chaser thing. You light it and it zips all over the place. We waited for a friend to go inthe crapper at work, tied a rope around the door handle, then zent 3 flying under the door with him on the crapper. Screamed like a little girl, nearly wet myself laughing so hard! -
We're heading to a race for the 4th weekend in San Angelo, but should be back on Sunday night. Thinking maybe go somewhere else on Monday if we arent too pooped. How was the dune trip? We havent been since Sept 04! How long has it been since you been to Murray? It sure has changed. Lots of camping, showers, poopers with flushers, asphalt parking lot. Heck I think the parking and camping are better there than at the dunes these days. If I dont see ya before you go, be safe over there once again! You got a mini moto for the youngest yet?

Scott hope you have a good exhaust fan in the bathroom! Man do you even ride anymore or what? Dale you better get out on the shee before you leave town again man. Didnt know if you guys knew it or not but word on North 40 is that it is closed for the summer, unless you are a member. They will be redoing the track also, dad and David talked the other day about what will be changed and added by September for the new season. Scott put the bong down and step away! Now I know why you bought a Honda, you were in a fog and confused!

State Farm asked me how much coverage I wanted on each quad. I did $5K on the banshee for $9.50 per month and $6500 on the YFZ450 for $11.50 per month. Covers everything, theft, fire, collision, and a $50 deductible. So about $250 a year for both. Nice piece of mind, if I crash into something they will actually cover the costs.

My dad has the same setup and races XC. The last race the laps were between 8-9 miles each and he did 4 laps. I pitted him at the end of lap 2 since he had a healthy lead with about a gallon of fuel. By the time he finished he still had about a half gallon or so in the tank. So I figure he used about 3.5 gallons of fuel during the race. Didnt think that was too bad considering the conditions. Each lap averagin about 25 min+ or so. Plus he has a heavy thumb ya know!

Looking for these for a friend. His topis stripped on one side so I told him id look around for a set. never thought stock carbs would be so darn hard to find. Let me know if you have any and what you want for them shipped? [email protected]

How far did ya'll race? TO beat one by that much what did you do race for like 2 miles, I have found that in all honesty top end as far as running for a long ass way is not the 450's forte. The banshee shines in that department. But as for launching a good pull the 450's definitely a competitor. What I liked most was you get it in the woods, and i'm not near as fatigued at the end of the day as I was on my shee. Riding XC that is a big bonus. And I noticed the same thing about the pipe too, cool when I first got it but getting annoying as hell to listen too.

Balloons loaded with brake fluid. Works wonders on the paint just wear gloves when loading and unloading the balloons. Well placed balloons require entire paint job key scratches only a body panel here or there.
