  1. The shine isn't quite show room quality but it's definitely better than it was before IMO
  2. me and my brother spent about 2 and a half hours on it
  3. I decided to try polishing my plastics rather than buying new so i went for it today. i started with red automotive scotch brite pad to get the big stuff out then wet sanded with 600 grit, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, and then polished with 3m rubbing compound, and 3m finesse it 2 finishing material. They came out pretty well, they are nice and white, but not perfect. My only complaint is that wherever there was a sticker would not get any better, those spots are still very dull, even where my ORV sticker was for only 8 months, not sure why this is, but i'm satisfied and will run the plastics like this for awhile. here's some pics, they dont really capture the sheen very well but it's there
  4. how much for the whole set of plastics shipped to 49002?
  5. Yeah I told him I would buy it and then he sold it out from under me after agreeing on a price. Thanks for the heads up though haha
  6. Looking to get stock length round housing swinger. Let me know what you have, I'm flexible
  7. My hubs are lookin pretty good on there troy
  8. you guys got me second guessing now, but i'm too lazy to take it apart and return it, and too cheap to spend more on the better one, so i'll probably just see what happens haha
  9. Saw that the craftsman atv lift was on sale for $101 from sears today so i picked one up. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00950190000P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2 first impression is it's pretty awesome, haven't used it much yet but everything seems awesome, would definitely reccomend
  10. i was thinking the exact same thing. if my bike didn't start laying it on the grab bar would probably be the last thing i did
  11. http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/mcy/2854319559.html not a banshee though but it's a good one
  12. i Knew mine were worn out on my '87 when i had the lower one pop out of the a arm and i went cartwheeling across the dunes. In all seriousness though, mine are terrible, if i grab the wheel and shake it there's a ton of play, if you dont notice that then maybe you're fine.
  13. I have the same problem. Would love a good fix
  14. that's probably a good idea
  15. ive got a bent durablue axle, i'm not sure how bad it's bent, looks to be about an eigth inch of travel up/down on the end, i'll measure it more precisely tomorow. durablue said they can straighten them for $80 dollars if it's bent less than 186 thousandths. Does anyone know how they bend them back and if i could try it myself? i have axcess to a decent machine shop
  16. Hubs are gone
  17. can you send a pic?
  18. I have a set of Tusk extended hubs, they're plus 1.5" each, so it adds a total of 3". They're too wide for me, i just want a set of stock offset ones. i'd consider selling, but rather trade for stock offset hubs. http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/43/53/173/733/1685/32059/Tusk-Extended-Rear-Wheel-Hubs
  19. I probably wouldn't buy new arms if my ball joints weren't worn out, but the ones on the stock arms aren't replaceable so i basically have to upgrade, and going wider is always nice for stability
  20. Thanks guys. I'll call stellar today
  21. That was the route I was planning on going, I just hope it doesn't cost an arm and a leg
  22. So i recently did a rebuild on an 87 banshee, and i love it. However, when i was riding at silver lake last year i had a ball joint pop out of the lower arm and rolled it end over end, so clearly the ball joints are worn out. There's all sorts of play in the front suspension, and I need to fix it to make it safe, but i'm not sure what route to go. 1)Cheapest rout would probably be replacing everything with stock parts, but i'd like to go wider, and i dont think using stock parts is a good solution anyway. 2)I could also get new J arms made by Stellar which would require a lot of other parts 3) i could do an a arm conversion kit 4) i could get an a arm frame for a decent price from a local guy What would you guys do and why?
  23. been looking for quite some time, dont expect to find any, but i really want some wider j arms, but i dont wanna spend the money for brand new ones, if anyone knows anything at all that'd be sweet.
  24. i dont think they were genuine mikuni, because they said they were for an artic cat on the packaging. i found that very strange. i'm not sure how deep the cracks are, but i will look and see also no boost bottle
