  3. I got new carb boots from chariot when i got my reed cages and billet intakes, and i've had them on for about 3 months, probably less than 20 hours on the bike and the boots are already cracking. Im running pod filters as well. has anyone else had this problem?

  6. yeah, that's what the guys at fast told me, i think the stud might be worn out, cause it was aligned good, but we'll see what happens
  7. i put it back on and its still good, i'm not quite sure what happened, it musta just been jammed up, but i gotta wait for a new water pump gasket to try it out, i decided to get the ez drain this time, since this is my 3rd new gasket this month
  8. took the clutch cover off and now it shifts great lol
  9. i just did a top and bottom end rebuild and port and everything was running good, except the clutch was slipping, so i put a new one in with stiffer springs and rode it a while and all was good. but now it won't shift. someone please tell me there might be an easy fix so i dont have to tear it all apart again, however something in the tranny is probably messed up
  10. i dont want to wait a week to order from fast, so what other clutch kits are comparable? i saw this one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANSHEE-CUSTOM-HEAVY-DUTY-CLUTCH-KIT-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem45fa05952cQQitemZ300547413292QQptZMotorsQ5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories i also looked at the toomey one i'm just not sure what would be the best clutch for a ported motor, with advanced timing shaved head, pipes, and pod filters

i'm looking for some unbent bars, stock or aftermarket, offer up, i dont care about color, brand or anything i just will need pics before i commit to buy
  13. ok, my clutch is slipping terribly now, i can barely even spin the tires. apparently a stock clutch can't hold back a ported motor i'm looking at the toomey clutch kit and running HD springs, but the basket is a little grooved how much grooving is too much? is filing the grooves down a bad idea? what is a good basket to get if i do have to get a good one? thanks for all the help
  14. i have a mild ported motor that i just finished and the clutch is slipping a little, what would be the best setup to run with my motor?
  15. i'm putting my engine back together and i can't remember what goes here for the life of me, i swear i had one of those half circle plates like the ones behind the clutch to go here but i can't find it anywhere it's on the top left of this picture, but still under the cover, the one with the two smaller holes next to it and the half circle around it
  16. i'm looking for a wider J arm set up for my 87, i just put a durablue 2+2 plus a pair of +1.5 hubs, so it's sitting pretty wide now and i want to even it up a bit
  17. i'm in portage michigan and i need an idler gear today, if anyone has one i'd come buy it, i only actually need the sleeve and the washer behind it. if someone has one and is less than 2 hours away call me 269 998 0970
  18. i just got this banshee and have never had it run so i have no idea where to start with jets, here's what i've done Toomey T5s k&n pod filters Mild port bored .60 over timing plus 4 charriot intakes and reed cages tors removal stock head shaved 40 thousandths i think that's it, also my elevation is 862
  19. i drilled it out and put the helicoil in, the bolt threads in and out without pulling the coil out, i'm gonna put the cases together and torque the bolts soon, i'm pretty confident it'll be good
  20. thanks for the input guys, i was pretty skeptical about the helicoil haha. i'll definitely go for it tomorrow though and post my results
  21. i was putting my case back together and realized that hole number 15 is stripped, i've heard of a few things i could do to fix it, the best being probably drill out to the next size, or use a helicoil, what's your ideas?
