  1. At least he has us here on bhq to help get him right if/when he has a problem
  2. Is your flywheel rusty or pickup gap really big?
  3. I wouldnt worry about that small ammt either but to take studs out I usually tighten 2 nuts on the stud and then unscrew it
  4. If its a small amt I would hand lap it like you said. We can also check port time with that bigger base gasket
  5. Measuring the height of each cyl is a good idea. If you want to bring it to me we can get it together, running and dyno the same day.
  6. It smoothes then? Im trying to understand your problem
  7. Hell yeah! When you goin back to busco?
  8. i asked him to check it green because its the only other thing that could be off, I mean you cant stretch cylinders. all I did was lower the step by the amt that he was off to get a proper squish clearance
  9. tell him whats going on and your concerns, then see what he wants to do to fix it... he should make it right no if ands or buts about it since your not happy and I wouldn't be either. I think he should take his crank back and send you a hotrod crank, even if he wants you to pay the difference in the cranks but I would try and get gaskets and orings on him since you had to go thru this. if this issue is what it appears to be It was a waist of time for you but I guess its lesson learned. maybe kevin can take a lesson from it too! I mean from what you told me, your not winning like all his other motors in his bold statement not even against 450's like he promised you.
  10. Yup I think this little hurricane will cause the race to be cancelled so I will be home tinkering
  11. I also want to say that if you got one of his cranks you may have saved a buck but its been known to be not the best quality. I have one in my garage now that came apart.
  12. tricked I said before its not going to tell you anything. what if he changed the exhaust port floor or what if he didn't.. you don't know
  13. if you check your base gasket that will tell you if its the problem. the only way your getting that squish measurement with those dome specs is with a way to big base gasket. you can call 10 people or just go check it... lol
  14. 10mm is very common, what you need to be concerned with is that squish clearance though. if your step is .115" with a .020" base gasket and a 4mil your squish should be around .048" ish and its not according to you, sooo your base gasket must be like .040" witch is odd.
  15. the piston to port isn't going to tell you anything really since hjr may not have lowered the port yes the band width is how wide the flat outer portion of the dome is before it gets to the curved section and then the spark plug if that makes sense....
  16. there is not a better for any and all situations that why custom domes are custom the numbers mean 23cc 13* angle for the banshee piston .115" is the step that gives you the squish clearance what it doesn't tell you is the squish band width
  17. Did you measure your base gasket thickness? It sounds like the problem because those dome specs are not bad.
  18. Yeah I have specs or you can call dave noss
