  1. im not real sure what your asking?if your asking about reading air fuel ratio you need a wide band 02 sensor.other tools are basic hand tools.
  2. My friend has the same problem, his plastic wouldnt line up he measured his from the hoop to the front of bracket where the seat meets the gas tank his was 12.5 inches.mine measured 14.25,my plastic line up perfect.
  3. a stock cylinder big bore will never make as much hp as aftermarket cylinders.cheetahs, twisters ext....have much better port layouts.
  4. if you are running alky,or race gas you can run very high compression and timing, thats the main benifit to it.
  5. they sound very convincing.
  6. i got time to check what pilots im running.45pilots and 150 mains. i started it and rode it inside at work today we pulled it with a golf cart lol..it doesnt like to idle very well,it idles up and down so i cant set it.im pretty sure its way to lean at idle to 1/4 throttle.im gonna try 50s and see what happens.
  7. hole in the piston means you are lean...not the pistons fault.either air leak or not enough fuel.
  8. you will need someone with more experience then me to answer that. I would assume you can measure from gasket surface at base of cylinder to top of the cylinder.that might give you something to compare to if you can measure a stock cylinder.i would measure from bottom of cylinder to bottom of exhaust port and compare that to a good set. i am no pro. maybe someone that knows the correct way can chime in and help.
  9. it depends how much was taken off the deck.if some one took off .080 then that would be the size of base gasket i would use.you need to measure and find where your deck height is.
  10. elevation is around 800ft.my stockers had a 350 main and 25 pilot.the 28s im using now have 160 mains and ill have to check the pilots i cant remember.i havnt tried to start it since the weather cooled back down. i ran a total of 15 minuits so far and it was 60ish out.now its back down to 30s and 40s.as soon as it warms up ill be able to run it and go from there.
  11. Also i put timing at +6.
  12. Last summer i put a banshee together for my wife, fresh top end, coolhead with 21cc domes and some t4 pipes,v force 2 with stock carbs and air box.it was always a pain to start. When it was cold i would have to push start it.Once it was warmed up it would start on first kick, and ran great the compression was 130 psi on both sides, carbs synched and jetted.I took over the bike so i pulled it apart(i needed more then 40hp) i inspected the top end wich looked perfect. The crank was seperating so i replaced the crank, put in all new seals, ported cylinders, put in 18cc domes, and 28mm carbs with slip ons, and grr pipes.IT STILL DOES THE EXACT SAME THING,HARD TO START WHEN COLD,IT WILL START ON FIRST KICK WHEN WARM..ALTHOUGH IT DOES HAVE A SUBSTANTIAL GAIN IN POWER.ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE APPRECIATED.
  13. i used a r1 with horizontal ressi.on a +6.it lowered it about 3 inches.i had to modify the lower bushings and had to move my rear master cylinder a little to get the ressi to clear.
  14. The right side crank seal might be leaking causing trans oil to burn in the right cylinder. Are you running oil or trans fluid?check and see if your low on the dip stick. also could be head gaskit leak depending on the color of the smoke.
  15. i used some chariot reed cages, they were nice they came with boyson duel stage reeds.i havnt used thier head but im sure they use same domes as cool head and noss.chariot makes good parts.
  16. are the polished cylinders stock stroke or 4 mill?
  17. using the hot rods 2.0 piston is the only true way to build a hot rod banshee.lol
  18. Did you push the brakes with the caliper off the rotor? if so you over extended the piston.im guessing the rubber your talking about is the dust boot behind the inboard pad.you may have the piston wedged at a angle in the bore.
  19. Im down to either wild card racing or red line racing to port my stock cylinders.i have talked to both, and still not sure which to choose.Any recommendations?
  20. i have seen cylinders that have never been bored that were so worn out we couldnt bore them enough.just by glancing down the barrel looking for scratches is not a good way to check for out of round or worn cylinders.
  21. i checked the gap on the ig pickup,.028,so i set it to.020 and it fixed it.nice blue spark every kick. i didnt realize it was so touchy, thanks for all the help.
  22. not sure what your asking.is it loosing spark on every other engine cycle? look on the flywheel, there should be two tabs 180* apart.if one comes loose it will only spark every other cycle. maybe that helps, unless your saying sometimes it has no spark when you kick it,check terminals, breaks in the wires,or bad ground, dirty contacts on kill switch, bad ig switch.lots can cause intermittent loss of spark.
  23. ill try that, i used a business card and maybe the gaps to big.
