  1. Also, seems like a serval would make it possible to have a 85-100hp duner with only a little porting vs a 70-80hp duner, stock cyl on race gas with almost max porting. Would that be a correct assertion?
  2. But to get the most power out of stockers (roughly 85-100hp right?) doesnt it need to be a drag port that has all the power up top and like a lightswitch and on race gas (obviously it doesnt have to be) to get the most out of stockers? seem like to get 85hp out of a serval would be easy as pie and you could still have some bottom end and a much higher ceiling for power increases all while still being on good ole' pump gas. seems like in order to get the most out of stockers, you are sacraficing rideability? I guess it comes down to your future goals as well as numerous other variables...
  3. could you elaborate more on your above statement please?
  4. I for one hope this thread keeps going. I have been contemplating this EXACT same question myself. I have two sets of cyls i could possibly sell along with some other parts to help displace some of the cost if i went serval...or i could send one of the sets to be ported for cheaper. I have a hard time also with the "room for improvement" having the stockers ported. I run full race in my setup now and im getting tired of paying $9+ for race fuel. 80hp on pump sounds really nice...Hopefully more people knowledgeable members can expound on their experiences relating to this topic.
  5. jetting for ethanol

  6. You will notice better throttle response with the reeds. Nothing from the boost bottle, until the boots crack. Then you will notice a shitty running banshee. ditch the bottle and install the reeds.
  7. Not true....just saying.
  8. Check your compression. When is the last time you did a top end?
  9. Spacers don't do anything.
  10. You do not need to re jet. Take that boost bottle off. It does nothing. It will eventually crack the intake boots and cause an airleak. Replace it with a stock crossover tube.
  11. Depends on your budget and future plans. You can build a fast stock stroke motor.
  12. Save the money for the lift and use it on pipes, timing plate, a couple jets, and a filter. Far better investment.
  13. Did Helen Keller design that one?
  14. Then don't post in or read newbie threads . problem solved
  15. I just double checked my pilot when i was changing my main and my pilot is a 52, so your 50 maybe spot on. Mine may be a little rich. in your carb you have a jet needle (which is the needle with the clip) and a needle jet (where the needle goes into). My Eek needle is on the 2nd clip from the bottom. And yes, if you lower the clip it richens it. The jet needle helps tune the 1/4-1/2 circuit.
  16. What year is your banshee? I have a set of pt high revs and silencers that fit a j arm only, that I need to get rid of.
  17. Try your air screw at 1.5-2 turns out. Get an eek needle in it and try leaning your main down a little. Pilot is pretty close. Maybe a 45-48. Get a new head gasket.
  18. The boost bottle does nothing. It's a gimmick. Ditch the boost bottle for a stock cross over tube. By elevation and temperature, he means, what is the elevation where you will be riding and what will the temperature be where you ride? Elevation and temp affect your jetting.
  19. It has port work. It still runs hard, but I need to lean it out a little.
  20. Do you have a budget to work with?
  21. I believe I'm at a 45 and currently toying with my main. It's a 215, but I'm gonna go somewhere between 190-205.

  23. I have been told that the correct needle is crucial on 2-1 setups. I'm running an eek needle I believe.
