My mistake. Thought you said +8 or longer. I might have a +8 available too. Need to take the bike out and try both to see which it likes better. Sent from a van down by the river

Carver performance can shorten your floats to any length within reason. Can also rebuild them. The guy I talked to sounded 10 times more knowledgeable than the guys at Fox. Sent from a van down by the river

Haha. That's be great. All I was offering the OP was how to degree his motor so we can tell what it "might" be intended to run like. As far as porting..my porting is tech from 15yr ago. ( Dan at patriot racing & others) Not really comparable to what top builders are producing these days. That's why I let the pro's do it now. Either way , I'm down for some trashy chick watching. I don't care what your financial situation is. I'm not rich either..... but YOU likened a crank to being a " millionaire"...YOU said it. <<< If you are planning on building power like you suggested,,guess what is one of the 1st things recommended? ... CRANK work. Most people opt for a 4mm if they are going to port and do head work,,guess what that takes??... CRANK WORK. a measly 400-450.00. When you add it all up , that little 400.00 is NOTHING compared to what you'll be in that bike if you want to "go faster". So why don't you be a man, and admit that YOU are to blame here? Guarantee it wont happen. -

And I stand by my comment about money. YOU are the one who said " I don't want to mess with the crank...I'm not a millionaire". If a crank constitutes millionaire money..well..you ARE in over your head. And I stand by my comment that DIY certain parts of these motors often costs MORE than letting a pro do it. ( example : porting tools alone are 500-800 easy) then you have all the trial and error. ... VS proven port job by builder is about 250-350. Sent from a van down by the river -

I'll refer you to post #5 (yours btw) YOU started being a dick. Post#4 ( which you were referring to in post #5) was simply a helpful hint so you would get better responses to your questions. So YOU lit it off. People around here will dish it out quick if you come off like you did in post #5. Sent from a van down by the river -

Thanks. But I'll leave him to his own devices. I was planning on offering to meet up with him since I was going to be in Arlington, TX next week, to help him measure all his port timings and see what he needs. It was obvious to me from his first few posts he's in way over his head, but I though a few pointers in the right direction would help. Btw OP ...I build my own stuff...you don't know me . I'm building a drag frame as we speak. ( with helpful input btw) ...so talk about what you know. As far as engines..I do that myself as well . I've ported numerous banshees and blasters as well as a few others , in years past. Since I don't have a dyno, I prefer to now have a reputable shop with a dyno port my stuff. Things have advanced greatly since I used to do it. I'll still put my offer on the table to help if you need it. Sent from a van down by the river -

I think so...Unfortunately. OP. I'd suggest you Google image them. That would probably help the most. Sent from a van down by the river -

Hold up now ... How am I the ass when i replied to THIS > All I'm saying is if doing it right on a Banshee requires you to be what you call a " millionaire"...then you are already over your head. In the performance world, what we spend on these quads is chump change. 2nd, I gave you a helpful advise when i said " it'll cost you MORE to DIY it since you said THIS ( and other comments i didn't quote >>> See,,if you are that clueless , you are better off not doing it wrong ( which is very possible seeing how little you know) according to your OWN comments. If it is otherwise,,,well, you have your own typing/comments to blame. So take your hardass / wannabe comments a shove'm..... OR,, try to learn something from the advise of the people you asked it from. Based on what you've said so far, you would be better off letting someone more knowledgeable at least setup the motor, then if you are competent , assemble it yourself. ...but i doubt you'll do that, because you come off as the type that THINKS he knows it all,,,so you'll never learn anything. BTW: Save the whole " forums are for questions and info argument ". Yes we all know that. The info is here already, read, educate yourself, assimilate it. That way you can have a point of reference to discuss specifics to your situation . The info is here, find it, read it. Don't expect to be spoon fed. Also, I hope you heed the advise of those who tell you the straight scoop, and dont blow smoke up your ass. Youll be further ahead and have a fun , reliable bike, that should do exactly what you want. -

If you plan on buying a Serval in that short of a time, I wouldn't waste any money on the current setup.Just run it as is ( if it does) until you upgrade. it's probably your rings that are shot...along with the rest of the motor. Using domes to mask the condition is a recipe for disaster. Sent from a van down by the river

This. All I read is " I don't have the money to do it right". 99% of the DIY crowd do it because they can't afford to do it right. ..of course this is shrouded by the statement " I want to learn it myself ...blah blah blah". But if that were truly the case , they'd be reading books on expansion pipe theory and two stroke theory ,among others. This mentality tends to end up costing more in the long run. The last 1% that truly educate themselves...thumbs up. Sent from a van down by the river -

38 A/S runs a different slide cut away than 35mm. You have to modify the slide cutaways to get them to jet in nice on a 35A/S , in my experience. Sent from a van down by the river
