Yes.The shaft on OEM ones tends to last longer and dosen't groove out. Dosen't wear seals. People try to blame failed plastic OEM impellers for overheating,but in all reality, something else tends to be the problem, and caused the impeller to fail. ( old age, lean condition , bad tuning , etc). The waterpump, gear, and seal are wear items,, just like clutches , etc, they need to be replaced at service intervals.
There's guys complaining about the OEM pump failing in a 8+ yr old motor, , I mean come on. Haha. Let's see and aftermarket last that long.
I've ran billet impellers before and seen absolutely NO improvement in cooling. But my junk is jetted right and tuned right. Some people just get caught up in technicalities that make no apriciative difference.
