    And if you go full rebuild on engine, make sure you buy it all from one builder, don't try and piecemeal it. Most builders will do a package deal

    For 3000.00 , I'd look at post #3 . Put about 2000 in suspension and wear items (that's going with lower end components ). Put the 1000 in savings until "money isn't an object" anymore and build complete motor. (Probably about 2500)

    Piston situation isn't due to carb sync. Build a leak down tester before going any further. 2nd, buy or download a Clymer manual.

    Just an FYI for anyone running a modded cover. MAKE SURE your brake pedal and FOOT PEG has PLENTY of clearance away from cover. If it taps or vibrates against the cover at all, it can very well separate in short order. Sounds like a no brainer,but it happens a lot if not careful.
