I have used a regular 1/4 in air grinder and also a 4 in angle grinder no they are not very clean the air tool will make less mess but will not be a nice flat cut

You can grind rubber but it will make a mess out of your grinding wheel head of grinder

Everyone has there own preference I ran stock for a while but never liked the jump from 2nd to 3rd so I switched to 13-43 and I seem to like it better.

Maybe I missed something but I don't think its 79hp? I would agree you should be beating him, but you also said he has a cam and port work so I'm sure his bike is fast as well. A better set of pipes and carbs will for sure help you in a drag race but will make trail ridding not as easy. Some people like the very pipey bike that is your call. You could also play with gearing.

Yea I run the shearer myself but my engine is fairly modded I trail ride and hillclimb alot Of the guys I run with run cpi's and some run t5's it really depends where you the power and what is all done to the motor.
