  6. The cylinders already got a nice port job.. More then ive seen online.. I talked to Jeff, he never asked me to send the pistons.. I told him the bore size of what the cylinders were, and i need them bored out to the next size!! Why else would he need my pistons?
  7. If the piston was fried, How would he be able to tell if he has good compression ? Wouldnt that lock it up, not letting you check compression?
  8. Yeah man.. Im saving over 30 bucks shipping it out.. And im probly getting a better bore job as well.. Cylinders are going out tomm!
  9. Well turns out the guy i took the cylinders to is a joke and didnt know it had to be bored when he inspected them.. They want 85 a cylinder.. Sooo im sending the cylinder to FAST.. tomm with shipping and insurance im still saving over 50 bucks... I now feel confident the job will get done right after talking with Jeff from F.A.S.T.. Anyone have bore jobs done from these guys? A little feedback would be nice!!!!... Im curious if he pays the return shipping and insurance?
  10. If its been 5 years since its been opened up.. Them O rings arnt going to be in too good of shape... Ive tried using mine before.. and they dont seem to hold there shape after sitting for a few days.... All in all. its your decision.. hyou can get new O - rings for 20 bucks....You dont need anti-freeze coming threw the head bolts!!!
  11. Yeah im probly going with the Wiseco... Cant beat the prices for a top end kit with gaskets pics. clips and all..
  12. Im sure there has been discussion on this before, but i searched and searched the threads and found nothing... Im doing a top end rebuild what pistons are the best for a 65.00mm bore , ported ? I Looked at the WSM pistons, I was thrown off about needing a 5mm long rod with these?? im not sure what i have !!!I was also looking at Wiseco forged pro-lite pistons as as well.. i hear they are tried and trued and they seem to be the best buy... Any opinions? Suggestions? thanx
  13. Yea thats exactly wat happened.. It figures.. way my lucks been going lately..
  14. Not sure how the Athena's run on the Banshee's . But i had a Athena 480 kit for my YFZ450 and that thing hauled major ass and had tons of torque.. I beat the piss outta that thing and it never missed a beat or over heated!!!!
  15. I took the cylinders to a local reputable shop around here.. Got the cylinders honed..stuck with the bore that was on there which is 64.75 (.30over). She already has a sweet port job.. This thing ran like a beast before she took a shit.. I dont feel comfortable splitting the cases , So i made a deal with the shop, there gonna split the cases for me and check everything out.. And try and locate the 3rd peice of the piston that i beleive to be laying at the bottom. So im just waiting for the cylinders to come back and i need to buy a new top end kit... new head bolts and a new O-ring set. Then i can peice her back together... Im hoping to get her runing before the snow comes...Moneys tight but shell get there... Figured id just fill the guys who responded to the post..I jus hope all is good inside them cases!!!!!!
  16. I never had any problems with my twist throttle... I have waaaay more control on the twist throttle the the thumb.. Obviously many people disagree..But if used right and hand positioned the right way while riding... Best way to go in my book.. And Motion Pro twist throttles are the tits..
  17. Thanks for the info... I know what i gotta do.. Just needed another look from it.. . shes .30 over i think thats fine. cylinders arent scored or anyting, so would a Hone job be a benefit , or is it pointless if theres nothing noticable on the cylinder walls? I was just going to get them Honed anyway jus to be sure. . And i was curious on the torque on the head bolts and base bolts.. Thanx for throwing that in...
  18. I just tore down my bike yesterday.. i noticed alot of carbon build up inside my exhaust pipes, at the header and clyinder. How can i go about cleaning that off? A wire brush ? Another is the reeds. I got carbon v3's ... Im not sure about the carbon reeds. Can i clean them with any kind of solvent? Like carb cleaner or what? I Jus dont wanna put myself in a bigger hole.. Any other tips or stratagies to clean up what i have, or any other ideas what i should be cleaning while my bike is apart???
  19. ok guys i tore her apart this morning.. my one piston has broke into 3 peices... i found 2 peices still gotta find the one.. i had alot of carbon build up.. my cylinders are not scored luckily,, but will take them to a shop.. My next problem is finding that peice of the piston , think it might be near the crankshaft...and tips or ideas? its my left piston that broke..
  20. I plan on getting her stripped down tomm.. But im curious what rebuild kit i should use? Wiseco ? seems like what everyons using!! What should i be paying for a top end rebuild? gaskets and all.. obviously dpeneding on the bore size. I found them from 219.00 up to 260.oofir a full kit! That sounds about right or is that too much? and if theres anyone of the sponsors on this bnoard i could purchase off of, i would like to ...
  21. Had a bad expiriance with bored cylinders.. Its supposedly bored out already, so ill keep it posted on the tear down!!
  22. Thanx guys... if i scored my cylinders.. i will be looking to get stock bore cylinders.. Im not a fan of boring out stock cylinders , I rather buy a big bore kit , instead of a bore job....I will start tearing her down tomm.. i was pretty angry when it happend yesterday...So i put her in the shed and left her alone for a little while haha.. thanx again guys i will keep you guys posted!!!
  23. Hey guys whats up, my names Phill.. I jus got my 2001 banshee last week.. Shes got some mods as seen in my sig.. My gas has been running a lil rich past few days and i doubt my problem would occur from runningto rich.. I been riding for 30 mins today and my bikes running under 150 degress and i stop for a rest. Maybe 10 mins later i fire her back up.. I put it in first and i hear a clunk or a thump... and she shuts right off.. Kick start will not move.. I guess i lock the pistons up? Im not sure.. The compression was pretty weak when i got the bike, but still ran like a raped ape... So im just curious on what can i do to clerify whats wrong.. do i hafta tear it apart? Nothing seams to be cracked, like on the cylinder or engine cases.. .. Im pretty deapressed about it... i didnt even have the qaud for a week. But i know how these 2 strokes are.. i just need some direction.. any advice helps Thanx Phill
