  1. sounds like you need to replace those crank seals then, remove the clutch, split the cases etc.etc., make sure you grease the seals when installing the new ones.
  2. the stock carbs will work, just wont see the peak numbers you could get with 35-40's. i ran a stock stroke vito cylinder for awhile with stock carbs, v-force,4 degrees timing, with vitos fat bastard pipes, and 140psi. it ran pretty good pulled alota rpm with the low compression and those pipes. oh and i think i had like 350 mains with a open air box and k&n filter.
  3. what side is smoking? both or just the right side? if its just the right side smoking and its smells horrible its prolly a crank seal gone bad letting oil from your case/clutch in.
  4. i dont want to put you down but your completely WRONG there is only ONE type of port on the vitos cylinders and its a DRAG port, whether its a stock, 4mm or 10mm stroke the ports are exaclty the same size(not the same heights). for shits and giggles i called vitos and asked about different porting options and they told me that as of right now theres only one style(mid-top drag) but they did mention a sleeved version will be available in the near future with lower port timing.
  5. i have a 10mm vito cylinder and like j-madd said they are a drag race cylinder comparable to the cub, mine runs neck and neck with cubs. even thought you mentioned gas consumption was not a issue its not for trail riding or whatever kind of riding you do for 4 hrs, i make a pass or 2 then let mine cool down.
  6. it doesnt matter whos or what piston it is in a loose/ wore out bore...its going to be bad. the cut on the piston is like 1-1.5mm and only as wide as a stock exhaust port.
  7. 210 is way to high if you ask me, after about 170psi your rpms really fall off, banshees love rpms with 200+ psi its probally down about 2,500 rpm or more from where it would be with 170-180psi.
  8. wiseco makes sum pistons for them , they usually have 2 versions wiseco and vitos. both forged same cuts on the pistons but different rings the wisecos get a wiseco ring and the vitos have a keystone style ring. also the pistons that are coming with cylinders are vitos 68mm forged pistons.
  9. vitos has a kit with cable, caps and idle kit 50-60$ i think
  10. you can but youll need to weld a flange for the silencer and of course buy sum silencers i dont know if rob has them but i know shearer would have them.
  11. the vitos cylinders have the same type of port (exhaust) on all the strokes, its basically a drag port. if you call them they won't recommend them if your just a trail rider, just too much top end. the other thing i thought id mention is that the esr cylinder is a (old) la sleeve cylinder esr added the power valves and nice billet head.
  12. theres no alcohol allowed in the dunes (unless ur running it in ur bike) they check your coolers often at the entrance. theres prolly 7-10 campgrounds in and around silverlake ive stayed at about all of them at one point or another, all pretty good even the state park. you'll need a 10ft flag ,spark arrestors like someone said already, orv sticker, state park permit and depending when your there you might have to get a parking voucher for the big weekends. bout all i can think of right now
  13. the stock strokes and 4 mills sound good, but i think the 10mill vito jugs would be the best for a sleeper bike. they look like the stk. and 4 mills id get those and lie threw my teeth about the stroke.
  14. all the vitos cranks come true and welded, and if im not mistaken they have keyed centers as well, back the the subject tho ive had a 4mill standard rod crank for 3 or 4 years no problems in a cub raced on asphalt.
