Ok so this is all just general obvservation from your recent posts about alky. It seems that your new to alky correct? 180 is a bit high, however it is usable if your setup is spot on. There is MUCH more to a dome than a simple cc #. So here is a list of questions most are gonna ask. If I were you I would copy/paste and then answer them. Thats going to yeild you the best answers.
1- Are the domes a shelf dome or did your builder set them up for you?
2- What is your squish?
3- How far are you running before it knocks the plugs out of it?
4- Does it "lay over" or suddenly drop out of power going down the track? (lean condition)
5- What do the plugs look like after it knocks them out?
6- What motor/carb combo are you running?
7- What position are your PJs in?
8- Does the bike try to "run away" or free rev after you pull the clutch in at the end of your pass?
9- Whats the water temp after you make a pass?
IMO this doesnt have anything to do with the head, and all to do with your tunning (or lack thereof)
You dont wanna pay full price? Thats weird.. Most everyone wants to pay full price...They are pretty hard to find used with just the silencers. Sometime you come across some that are pipes/silencers but rare to see them silencer only. Id start driving early Monday morning if your looking to have a set anytime soon...
600/700 a week isnt gonna support all this stuff you "own"... You MIGHT have this shit in your storage unit (no garage at the appartment) but Im gonna go out on a limb and say that you dont "own" alot of it, but rather are making payments and the bank actually "owns" it. Could be wrong but I doubt it. Rather than act like you know anything (which Im guessing you dont) and rather than trying to impress people with what you have (which Im guessing is much less than what you are talking) why dont you just be a normal working class person like the rest of us...
I have a BRAND NEW set of billet cases for a stock spread (102) twin. They are setup for a cub cyld, they have the window in the bottom. They are brand new from Mattoon. I bought them for a project and then ended up not building the motor. They have never had a crank in them or a cyld on top of them. They are just as you would recieve from Mattoon. 1500 shipped. This is for a brand new set of billet cases with the additional window in the bottom of them. Cant beat this deal. PM me if your intrested.
Crank..... tear it apart. Parts are everywhere reasonably cheap, and will be to you within a week. If your proactive you can tear down, repair, rebuild in about 1 week without paying extra shipping. Faster if you wanna pay for UPS's gas bill.
You have beat this topic into the mud and never really given the full situation. What size dumps? What size mains? What size needle/seat? Are you 100% sure the floats are set correct? Are you 100% sure that the floats werent hanging up on the inside of the bowls on the billet bowls? Are you 100% sure you have a gravity carb? Are you 100% sure you have a pump carb? You have asked 5 differet questions all pertaining to this same issue yet you never give/have enough info for anyone to tell you WTF you actually have going on.. Without details your questions are USELESS.
You still dont know if your carbs are setup for a pump or not... correct? You need to figure out what you have before changing parts. Otherwise you very well might end up with something you dont need or wont work.
For once someone reprots back after they have asked questions and found some answers! And for once a "new guy" who just rips into the motor and learns first hand! Congrats on the score, you will be taking it apart again as soon as funds allow to make it faster I promise!!
Im VERY impressed with how well its held up on my stuff...
Couple Questions. Can you add a 3rd color in the mix?
Is it basically skys the limit on color choices or do you have a pallete we can chooze from?
How big of a piece can you do?
