  1. Go with the elkas. Are you going to be able to tell the difference between the Elka and Works ride quality? No. The reason I say go with Elkas, is because overall their quality of materials, and quality of workmanship is hand over fist better than Works. That's not to say that Works aren't a great shock, because I recommend them to a lot of people who are in the market for new shocks. With the Elkas, you will get a greater amount of time between services than you will with the Works. Elkas stand up to wet environments better than works shocks, due to the type of seals that Elka uses in their seal head. Again, Works are good shocks all around, but Elka is simply better. Elka seal tolerances are tighter than Works shocks. Elkas mounts use heims rather than bushings. Elkas use a 5/8" shaft, where Works uses 1/2" shaft on MOST shocks. It's not very often I replace shafts on Elka shocks, but I seem to replace Works shafts frequently. Works seals are a vulcanized seal in a steel casing that can rust out in wet environments leading to leakage. One of the only real downsides to Elka shocks, is parts are sometimes twice as expensive as Works shocks, but you replace them less often. I say for an $80 price difference, in the long run, the elkas will pay for themselves.
  2. Also, regarding the frames, it's not just RZR frames. It's pretty much all UTV frames. It's essentially just a square box under the cockpit, with everything else hanging off of it. If you don't have a very stout cage, consider it garbage. The cage is what gives this frame the majority of it's strength. It's like a unibody car, really.
  3. Incorrect on both... sorry... lol RZR 800's have neither a-arms, nor j-arms in the rear, and a modified upper spindle mount A-arm in the front. The rear is MUCH closer to a j-arm than an a-arm, though. The XP's have trailing arms in the rear but use a modified 5-link to keep the trailing arms from snapping off at the frame pivot during an off-kilter landing. The frames on those things are pretty weak.
  4. A-arms require less frame strength. They are easier to design, engineer, and build. Going from a frame designed for a-arms, to j-arms, yes, would be a step backwards... What I said is, in the case where space is limited, and weight is a factor, J arms are superior. Each has their place, A-arms are MUCH easier to design and build like I said above, but are not BETTER than j-arms in any way...
  5. Actually, a J arm setup is ideal on a smaller platform, especially on a front heavy bike such as a banshee where weight savings is paramount. Also, where space is limited, the j-arm allows for MUCH more generous shock placement options, which is why they are used on trophy trucks etc.
  6. I can't wait to take brandons 14dm with my dune bike. We're racing for pinks. I'll have a 14dm for sale in June.
  7. I just bought a set of OEM ones from Partzilla.com. Cheapest ones I've found. http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/yamaha/YP-2GU-14771-00-00.html
  8. Don't be so sure about a "step backwards". There's a reason $1m trophy trucks run J-arms. Hah. All the cool kids are doing J-arms nowadays.
  9. What was the reason for discontinuing such a fine... perfect product? Edit: I meant "stator", but couldn't stop laughing at the mass quantities of people coming to the surface right now.
  10. I need to expand on this. USED Wesson is the best. The extra carbon adds lubricity.
  11. Join the club, man... Looks like the "new" flywheels are no different? Stay classy Ricky Stator.
  12. Typical lies from a company that can't produce a bundle of wires worth a shit.
  13. I have sent several stators to Gary, sheerider1026, to be rewound. You couldn't pay me enough to reccomend a Ricky Stator to any customer of mine. I have seen far too many trips ruined, and far too much money wasted on garbage product.
  14. Redline.
  15. I'd put in 100 bucks for the winner.
  16. If you do the DC conversion, you actually lose output wattage. 10% static loss is a good number to use. Figure on your stator putting out 65-70w after a DC Conversion. If you're just going to run regular trail techs, there's no reason to do the DC conversion. The conversion is for those who want to run LED or HID lights.
  17. Haha this thread is funny for some of us.
  18. Treads
  19. Perhaps you mistook whining, for taunting. I got the response I was hoping for. You can cry quietly in the corner now. My "piece of shit business" obviously was exactly what you were looking for before I was a big ole meany head to poor little ole you, wasn't it? Wah.
  20. If you think you're the first whiny ass that I've come across to say "Ohh boo hoo, I was gonna spend money with you, but you said bad meany things to me", you're half as smart as you think you are. Here's a little pro-tip, faggot. I pick and choose who I want to do business with. You, little girl, would be one that I would tell to eat a dick. It's the luxury of being who I am. Go spend your money somewhere else, because I don't want it, and frankly, I wouldn't take business from someone like you anyways. You're a whiny cunt. In case any other "potential customers" are reading this: This is exactly how I am. I am a straight shooter. I won't beat around the bush. I tell shit like it is, and that is a fact. This pussy got bent out of shape because someone didn't drop what they were doing and overnight his axle to him because he waited until the last minute to order it. He got called out, made out to be a fool, and thinks he's being sneaky by talking shit. Oh, btw... eat a dick fishfucker.
  21. Yeah, I'm lysdexic. I knew it was 29, too. I even searched to find him the part on PJ Motorsports... I'll fix it... lol
  22. Not those needles. The needle and seat is inside the carb bowl. It's a small brass piece with a rubber "cone" tip. It's what actually lets fuel into your carb as it's needed when the float drops below a certain level. #29 in this diagram.
  23. I've done a bunch of business with Jonathan. Not just Banshee parts, either. He did all of the vinyl for my trailer twice as fast as anyone else, and for a price that couldn't be beat anywhere. He'll be doing my next batch of stickers, even though he doesn't know it yet. He did a banner for me, and is doing 4 more banners right now.
