  1. Hold the reservoir with the schrader valve pointed down, and away from your face. Let a little bit of nitrogen out. If oil comes out with it, the bladders are blown out. That is usually the reason for extremely springy/bouncy shocks.
  2. sprinklerman is looking for a set. PM him. I believe he even has stock length to trade.
  3. Here are the reasons I turned down your work: 1. You are obviously in a hurry. This is the busiest time of the year for me, for BOTH of my jobs. My turnaround time will not fit your needs. 2. There are types of customers who will always be unsatisfied, no matter how good the work is. I have been in business for myself for a LONG time, and I know how to spot them. 3. I replied to this thread from the beginning instructing you to call me, and you never did. THAT is the best way to get a hold of me, should you need a quick response. PM's are not the way to do it. 4. Replying to this thread has cost me more money than I would have made doing your shock in the first place. Finally, yes, I agree. This thread is beating a dead horse. I referred you to GT Thunder because they have excellent turnaround time, and do excellent work. What more do you want? I cannot meet your needs, therefore I am referring you to two other shops that can. Doesn't that count for something?
  4. Yeah, probably. Regardless, my point was there are very minor differences between the years.
  5. Yes they will, as long as your +2 arms require stock length shocks. 99.99% do, by the way.
  6. Yeah, we can discuss powdercoat and other finishing options when you call.
  7. Just the suspension. Typically what happens is after they prerun, they come back with video footage of the car running the course. I watch the video, and make changes to the shocks. All of the shocks gets serviced and gone through before each race.
  8. Here's a straight answer: 1987-1989 were J-arm frames. 1990+ were a-arms. This is a matter of personal preference, but as said before, aftermarket suspension for a-arms is much easier to come by. Throughout the years they changed some electrical plugs, tail light, frame and plastics colors, and rear shock. Other than that, nothing else has really changed. Obviously, the newer the bike you buy, ODDS ARE the less it's been used. Of course that is not ALWAYS the case, but if you had a choice over a 1992 or a 2006 for the same price, I would choose the 2006.
  9. Chuy, Mat's polisher did mine for very cheap... They look incredible.
  10. (951) 777-6225. Odds are I won't be there to answer, but leave me a message and let me how late I can call you back. After this weekend, I will have much more down time, but with the Mint400 this weekend, I will be extremely busy until it's over.
  11. That is a $500 link on it's own, people. That is also the NEW Elka seal head, with the new preload adjuster... They can now be replaced without completely disassembling the entire shock. With 5 hours of use, I would expect to see this shock and linkage setup sell for well above $1000...
  12. Yeah... shit used to never get deleted around here. Sucks, man.

  14. I won't actually be there, unfortunately. At 6:30 tomorrow morning I'll be doing prep on a class 1 car literally minutes before the car hits the trailer heading to Vegas. If you ever make it out this way, let me know. Off road racing pretty much consumes my life for half of the year. I try to make it to almost all of the races in the south west region. Definitely an experience that you can't get anywhere else.
  15. If anyone in the Southern California, or Vegas area wants to hitch a ride and split fuel, we have room for one more bike.
  16. I hope Brandie. We have a few mutual friends. I've never met her, but facebook says so. This is true... I have done a lot of sweeping.
  17. Total out the door would be $164.00 plus shipping.
  18. Energy Suspension part # 9.9162g (black) or 9.9162r (red) Oreilly's sells them.
  19. Hey Dan, totally off topic, but I got your message. I'll try to call you back tomorrow afternoon. Shit's been crazy around here.
  20. Again, you guys are idiots.. Turbo, I responded earlier in this thread telling you to call and leave me a message. I guess I should have read this thread before I replied to your PM. Disregard any of the instructions I sent you. I would prefer that you send your shock elsewhere. To clear things up, I have been doing nothing but prepping race cars for the Mint 400 for the last 12 days. 6am to midnight, or later. I apologize I couldn't respond ti your PM immediately, but I do my best to call people back when they leave me messages. I get on average 12-14 PMs a day, and there are not enough hours in the day during race season to respond to everything constantly at the drop of a hat. I haven't seen my 3 month old daughter for longer than an hour in the past 7 days because I have been so busy. Just last night I was on the phone with two customers between race shops, at 10pm. I apologize for not getting back to you in a timely fashion. Race-Tech and GT Thunder both do great work, and you will get a good shock with either of them.
  21. You guys are all faggots. I've been busy prepping for the Mint 400 this week. If you call the shop number and I don't answer, leave me a message. It may be late when I can get back to you, but leave your number and the latest I can call, and I'll call you back. I have a ton of PM's backed up, and not much time to respond to them right now. Sorry.
  22. I had two 73mm cheetah cylinders sitting side by side, and the exhaust flanges were at different heights. Not by much... maybe 2-3mm...
  23. It's tough to directly compare Works shocks to Elka shocks. They use completely different types of valving, and a different nitrogen setup. I would say that a properly set up pair of Works shocks will out perform any shock that isn't purpose built. With that being said, as far as ride quality, 99% of people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Works and Elkas.
  24. I can sell you a carrier, chain and brake line at additional cost, as well. PM me if you'd like a price on a complete package.
  25. Just made 6 passes on the dyno with this stator... Not a single hiccup. Works awesome.
