If you've been doing a lot of reading on the YFZ450 swap, you haven't read enough. The swap isn't that great. Like zillacock said above, buy some +2+1or +3+1 a-arms and even bottom of the line Works shocks would be better than YFZ450 shocks.

California riders wanna set up a pismo trip?
So Cal Suspension replied to 209pinitTOwinit's topic in Riding and Events Forum
My wife and I always try to make a trip up to Santa Maria in mid-late July every year, and next year we planned on going to Pismo for a few days. -
Hahaha, JL's shock sucks huh? How the hell do you know it "sucks"... The bikes been sitting for 3 months with a broken crank. I've been there every time it's been run. Have you? lol Once again, proving you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about.

Hahahaha, this shit is too funny... "quote unquote"... Possum you can't decipher sarcasm for the fucking life of you, can you? When your dumb ass was in his motor room gobbling his cock and balls, and everyone wanted me to see the motor you blew up, I didn't give two shits about it, and still don't. You claimed for HOW MANY MONTHS that shearer was building your motor? Oh, sorry... I mean, "the best in the business" as you call him. He fixed your transmission. I don't build motors, and I could have rebuilt that transmission. Do I build my own motors? FUCK NO, I pay someone to do it like 90% of us on here. Maybe you should have tried that yourself before my dumb ass believed you when you were talking shit about Wheelman's motor. I vouched for you, and went based off of what I saw with my own eyes. Now I know how you really are, and I believe wholeheartedly that you ran that motor lean as fuck, and blew it up yourself. I have apologized to Dave, and to Wheelman for my previous statements about that motor. I believed you, and didn't really know the kind of person you are. You are a flat out liar. Do I know suspension inside, out, and upside down? Absolutely, which is why I am one of the best in the business. Am I the BEST? No, there is no way to measure the "best". I have built race cars start to finish that you would have to work your entire life, and then some to be able to afford. These guys don't throw $30k in my lap and say "I guess you're mediocre, kinda sorta know what you're doing, but here's my million dollar race car, just play around with it." No, I have a reputation in the off road industry that is one of the best there is... for a REASON. Let's clarify something about JL's shock for one second... We took a stock rear shock and shortened it to 11 3/4" because we were trying something NEW, rather than using a Marvin Shaw. Something that has never been done, to my knowledge. Do you really fucking think that it's going to be spot on, and tuned perfectly while it's sitting on a concrete floor? How stupid do you have to be? That bike has only made two trips on that shock, and OF COURSE there is always room for improvement. We've tried 4 different springs on it, with 3 different riders riding the bike. Your lack of knowledge of, well, anything is painfully obvious every time you run your dick suckers. The time you were there and I was fitting the shock, it was literally a gutted stock rear shock that I was fitting for measurement purposes. Did you really think a shock without oil in it, a stock seal head and the bike sitting inside a shop is going to perform well? It just goes to show how fucking stupid you actually are. You REALLY need an education. Your grasp of the English language is painful. It hurts my head to read your posts. PLEASE, for the love of all things holy (since you're also a bible thumper), post shit that someone older than a 7th grader could compose.

lol, zinger.

Hahahahahahaha John, this is a guy who thought he could stretch a stock banshee frame +6 out the front and leave the steering stem in the stock location... lol. He likes his tie rods to be the famous "Flying V", and if you ask him it's "perfectly safe". He even tried to cross-check my advice with shearer, and shearer agreed with everything I said. lol. I'm still waiting for my "You were right, I'm sorry." You should have seen the night he actually said (I still laugh out loud about this) "What do you know about suspension geometry?" in an EXTREMELY sorry attempt to question my credentials. Makes me giggle like a little school girl.

I bought a full set of plastics from mansur. Smooth transaction, and the plastics were better than I expected. I hope to do business with you again. Thanks man.

You'll have the same issue... The shocks are too long. You need shocks that are 14.75" long, MAX of 15".

We've asked for NATIONAL titles, or NATIONAL records proving their worth. We've yet to see that.

Not bad for a stock cylinder 4mil.
-
I'm wondering what your comment about me doing suspension has to do with my post. I know a lot about engines. More than enough.
-
Jim, quit your fucking whining, you pussy. Oh, please protect my oh mighty one, Tyler... Boo fucking hoo. You want to dish shit out, but can't take it? Put on your big girl panties and act like a fucking man. I will say it again. Passion Racing Engines and Swiper Pipes are the two biggest jokes in this industry. You guys are hacks.

Haha, at least he was smart enough to go to a builder who actually knows how to build motors... +1 for Colby.
-
Haha, a passion serval. I bet that thing doesn't have enough power to pull a greasy string from an elephants ass.
-
Wait, so Colby doesn't have a bike that actually makes power, yet is on here trying to represent Sniper as a pipe worth a shit? You've got to be kidding me. The way this clown talks, he's got the fastest bike in the world, with all the money in the world... I guess the truth comes out. If you tell me it's a stock cylinder bike, I give up.
-
Colby has obviously never been in business for himself... lol Walmart even has sales...
-
Haha, yes Mike, yes it does.

I filled my bars with sand at glamis and got the same effect. Compared it with some silicone filled bars and couldn't tell the difference. My guess is it works by adding weight to the bars... I dunno.

Maybe set aside 8 seconds, and look in the suspension forum. This topic has only been covered ROUGHLY 14 million times. +/- 1 million.

Broken/junk Banshee engine case to use as a guide
So Cal Suspension replied to snorkelfork's topic in Wanted
I have a set that has holes in the bottom from a 10mil crank coming apart. -
Those are Works G-Series. Used, in excellent shape, with good powder, expect them to fetch $700-$800 for the set of 3. They're good shocks.
