I read instructions on here about doing a shift star mod. I thought that I did mine conservatively but now I can not get mine into neutral. Does everyone that does this mod have this problem or did I get to aggressive with mine?
I am in need of a water pump impeller gear, water pump impeller bearing, water pump impeller seal, pushrod ball, clutch cover gasket and exhaust springs.
I thought some of you guys might have spares you were wanting to sell.
Thanks. Paypal ready.
If they feel good then I do not have them changed out.. I always change the needle bearings that connect the rod the the piston
Was the ring gap set correctly?
Your first response I felt that you didn't understand the complexity behind it. Sounds like you thought about it more than I thought. Locating the part and fixture so that the program can accurately communicate to the CNC where the 0,0's are etc.
Good luck post up some pics of the fixtures I'd like to take a look. What kind of production volume are we talking about?
first question that should be asked is do you guys have the machine capacity to take on this project? What axis CNC are you using? What program are you using? MasterCam? Whos building the fixtures and locating the part? Its a very involved process good luck there is still a job market of this kind of education.
I'm gonna need a few weeks to get the money together but I'm needing a few misc. parts.
I need a plastic water pump drive gear.
A water pump bearing
Clutch ball
some used front tires
FINALLY FIXED IT TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for all the responses and info guys... And thanks Savage (Chris) for all the help...
***************On the back of the plastic water pump gear the pin on the shaft rounded out the back of the plastic gear causing it to work but not under a load!!!!!
Will do that. I feel like that is going to help but you said your buddies did it after a long time of riding. Mine does it after around like an 1hr of semi hard riding.
