heres my mean little bitch had to stop building on it due to the fact that i broke my ankle this past week but more is soon to come! -
had similar setup except i had a k&n filter... i would start off with 27.5 pilots and 280 mains and that should set you close to perfect but every bike is different so do a plug chop and make sure to get a variety of jets so u can get it right cause the last thing u want to do is burn her down.
-
yea i would love some elkas or some works but damn they are expensive .... and for the most part im not concerned about getting the best seeing as i just ride trails... just looking for alittle improvement. so im thinkin im just gonna go with the 450 shocks and just do alittle fab work to get then on if needed so if anybody has done something like this pics would be greatly appreciated!!
-
yea i really like my j arms they have grown on me, but the bike just wears me out on the ruff trails i ride..... and i just absolutly love the smooth ride of the newer bikes but will never give up my banshee for one i just love it all to much The thing is though i would like to get some +2 arms but i really like the size of the bike now especially for where i ride. So the question now is what are my options on stock arms even if i have to fab up mounts for a-arms and have to ditch the j's
-
Ok so im looking to upgrading to some yfz450 shocks for the front cause my stockers are pretty much shot... but the thing is im wondering is would it even be possible on a 87 j-arm bike??
-
nothing to fancy but this is what i did...
-
I highly recommend the setup i have on my bike (look in sig).. i run the tightest trails and never have any problems with not having enough lowend - mid power.. That is im assuming that your gonna ride trails with that type of power being needed.. non the less i could not be happier with my bike and have absolutely no problems woopin on all my buddies 4-pokes in the trials.
-
350's are way to big.... im running pro circuit pipes, bouysen power reeds, +4 timing, k&n with proflow no lid, and cool head with 20cc domes and my jetting is 280- 290 depending on temp.. so i would start dropping sizes and see if it improves
-
u need to pull off your carbs and see what jets are in there.. both main jets and pilots... your idle screws dont need much adjustment just need to be adjusted the same on both sides and set to a good idle speed. But after this i would start off with 27.5 pilots for sure, around 280's for the mains and your air screws 1.5 turns out from seated. although im not sure as iv never owbed toomeys.. but im sure someone will chime in with a good starting point on the mains

yea im convinced that my banshee has a mind of its own and likes to play stupid little games with me ...... but basically i tore it all down to clean everything up and make it purdy and to put in my cool head, reeds, timing plate, and modded shift star... but as for the flywheel i was really careful with all of the peices and made sure not to be ruff with anything, plus the flywheel is fairly new (had to replace the old one)... But this morning i started pulling my harness out so well see if anything maybe happened to it But if i get it all together and running ill post some pics i think it turned out pretty nice. p.s. i did pull the a plug to check for spark and there was non....
-
Ok so i just got the shee back together today and she wont fire...... has great compression, getting gas, air filter is clean, and so on..... So after i pulled the plugs ans saw they were wet with gas iv have come to the conclusion that its not getting spark.... i also installed a +4 timing plate and was wondering if this could have caused anything to go wrong?? i used a proper banshee flywheel puller and torqued everything right and used locktight and set my pickup gap.... so im kinda lost and was wondering if somebody could shed some light on this???
-
just sanded them all down, sprayed them with rust-olium adhesion promoter, then gloss black rust-olium universal paint, and then finished them up with some atomotive clear coat.... and good luck with your project man
-
lol painted my plastics and i think they turned out pretty good those are also the same plastics that are on the bike n my sig.
-
you needa do a leak down test cause it sounds to me like you have an airleak somewhere.. An air leak will cause high idling, one side to richer\leaner than the other, and also make jetting your bike impossible... also check your pick up gap that can cause symptoms like this or a damaged fly wheel so inspect both (had a similar prob and flywheel was bad also incorrect pickup gap) leakdown how to: http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=110585 for the pickup gap and flywheel: http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/elecfaq.html

no power after 2nd gear at 1/4 turn
theoriginal87 replied to aquastar's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
you said you changed out the jets from the ones that were in it when in it when it was running correctly?? if so go back to those... because if your bike is revving all the way out with no power that is a sure sign of it being way to lean. From the mods you have you will definantly not be running 200's so i would definantly ask around for some opinions on jetting. But i would guess 23-250's -

theoriginal87 replied to theoriginal87's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum

Do i have to change my jetting?
theoriginal87 replied to theoriginal87's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
ok sweet! but iv heard to put the needle clip 1 leaner than stock position?? should i do this or just ride it and see how it runs? -
ok so pretty soon my shee is gonna be finished except for new suspension and a i have a few questions about my jetting.... ok so here is my mods as of now: k&n airfilter with proflow adapter and modified air box lid pro circuit pipes and silencers Jetting: 290 mains 27.5 pilots airscrews 2 turns out With New mods: k&n air filter with proflow adapter and modified air box lid pro circuit pipes and silencers cool head with 21cc domes boysen power reeds +4 timing plate But my question is, will these mods change my jetting any from what i have now??? if so what are some recommendations on what i should change??
-
lol great idea except i have no freakin clue how to even go about it??
-
Ok i have a question about shift stars?? so right now my banshee my banshee doesn't always shift right and neutral is a bitch to find... but basically i know the shift star isnt adjusted properly.. so im asking if getting a modded shift star would improve my shifting if adjusted properly?? also if so where to get one?
-
