  2. Lol yeah gotta i say u gotta pretty sick lookin bike there but the cover i just sanded it and used serval coats of good spray paint and covered it with an auto clearcoat... and so far it has held up perfectly!

Thanks for all the great advice guys... everyone here at the hq is probably the only thing that has kept me from going insane... lol but iv gone over everything u guys have said and i managed to find what i think is the problem. i pulled the flywheel today n compaired it to a good one and all i can say is the old one is mutilated.... looks like its had holes drilled in it and some one beat on it with a hammer then pulled it with a jaw puller... not good to say the least... but this weekend im gonna put a new flywheel on it and check the petcock.. n once again thanks n maybe now with what i learned i can truly get my shee up and running and keep it that way
  5. srry lemme rephrase that..... it starts now which let me try and jet it which has lead me to my next problem.so the problem now is it wont rev all the way out, for example when i get close to WOT in 6th gear it starts to pop and sputter like there is a rev limiter or something and i have gone from 260 through 340 main jets and the problem still remains the same. but no i have not rmeoved the flywheel i just set the pickup gap to what it should be. so basically what i was trying to say is that i have no more ideas why it it poping and sputtering like it does.
  6. its got brand spankin new plugs in it...... but i guess ill check the pickup gap again just to ease my mind... im just becoming more frustrated the more i try and just want to ride more than nething right now ... well i guess ill go over everything for the thousanth time and again if anybody has anymore ideas i would greatly appreciate it. also if anybody knows any shops around midland or odessa texas area that would be worth my time becasue im am seriously out of ideas.....
  7. yes it has new carbs on it and im still running the stock needle. i have 27.5 pilot jets in it and tuned my air screws for throttle response, also i have a tors removal kit on the bike as well.... my mods are only pro curcuit pipes and a k&n filter with pro flow adapter..... so i cant think what would be causing this stupid problem
  8. ok so the past few weeks iv been out at my ranch which gave me plenty of time to work on the shee and i was finaly able to resolve my starting problem... so now with it starting i tried jetting it. i started with 340's and worked my way down till it ran good, which ended up being 290's for the mains. but the thing is when u i get to wot it pops and sputters almost like there a rev limiter r somehting.... so i changed the jets out and went up a size and continued to do so but the bike just ran worse the higher i went so i dropped it all the way down to 270's and still nothing. so after this i went back to changing jets out and moving the needle position around with all the jets and still nothing.... so now where it stands is 290 mains, 27.5 pilots, and needle clip in stock location. both carbs have been synched, the choke tube is in place, the float lvl's are at 21mm, and i just replaced all of the fuel lines and removed the inline filter..... also it has new plugs that are gapped to 0.8mm and the pick up gap is 0.018" .... the bike also has good compression runnign 32:1 fuel and i just cleaned the air filter. i also did a leakdown test for shits n giggles wich it passed with flying colors.. so at this point im completely out of ideas and only can think it possibly be an ignition problem?? so if anybody has an idea on what my problem could be i would greatly appreaciate any advice!

  12. yes the bike is tuned properly i have pretty extensive experience with tuning engines except this is my first two stroke and im not very familiar with the electrical aspect and thats why im trying to get advice on my problem and better educate myself... i have owned 4 other quads all were fourstrokes and at now i am actually in charge servicing and repair of all the universities fourwheelers here where i live so i have a very good understanding of these things im just trying to fill in all the areas where i am lacking. so please to better clarify myself and my question is what do you think is wrong with my electrical now that i have ruled out fuel, compression, and air problems?
  13. i had the same thought except the bike has pretty much had this problem since i got it and the guy i got it from had the thing running so lean it was scary.. he had 250 mains, stock pilots, and super long aftermarket needles in it.... but as for right now i have it at 290 mains, 27.5 pilots, needle clip one leaner, and air screws 1.5 turns out...

  16. this seems really similar to my problem... but basically the bike will start when its completly cold and hasnt been ridden and you can go and ride it around long as u like but once u kill it it wont start again ( although sometimes it will start again it can be very inconsistant) but if the bike wont start after it has been ridden u can push start it and it will run
  17. i took the stator cover off a few weeks ago and everything looked like it was in great shape... but like you all said it doesnt mean it still works right... im going to pull the cover off and check the pickup gap and inspect everything again and as for the wiring i have looked it over so many times its sickening, which just means its time to actually test it... for the coil though i just took that off recently and took it all apart and cleaned the connections and cut the wire back further to a fresher part and it started right up but once again i killed it and nothing again after i killed it... but i looks like it had been replaced before because it has 1999 banshee written on it... but at this point it looks like its just time to sit down and test everything
  18. no i wish i could test my electrical but unfortunantly i cant get an electrical tester that will work because im stuck out at my house because of the snow.... so im kinda going stur crazy and really want to figure out wats wrong with my shee... but yes i have clymers and unfortunantly my friend that had a shee is no longer in town and i dont know anybody else who has one... lol now all of my friends have utility quads cept for one he has a blaster .... but i just recently went through and completely redid the harness so i know the wiring is good, but i guess im just gonna have to wait and test the resistance when i can get a tester..... its just the snow looks like so much fun! lol well thanks i guess ill just have to wait it out....

  20. ok so im thinking my starting problem could possibly be linked to my strator .... i had a friend kick the bike over for me th other day and noticed soemthing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUqSF71y-FQ i noticed it took it a few kicks to get the head lights to glow and that they were not very bright... or is this about how they should be? and also it seems like when the bike wont start its just not getting spark and if i doest it seems weak.. heres a vid of the bike running.... seems to run great untill u kill it then it wont start for anything....
  21. i took some pics of the plugs after i ran it earlier... unfortunantly i had to use my phone bit itll give u an idea hopfully... these plugs were brand new with only about 3-5 min of riding on them and they look rich to me if i am correct??
  22. ok so i just did another comp test jus for shits n giggles and it came out to about 112 in each cylinder... but its about 40 degrees outside right now and i cant get the bike to start to warm it up ...
