  1. ok i replaced the boost bottle with the stock crossover tube. the choke tube is there, the slides are in right (the half moon side is out and the ping marks are there so u can see them in the little window when i adjusted the carbs) almost positive the bowls are on right made sure the bowl that has the hole in it went withthe carb with the little jet hole.... starts on first kick just cant get to idle very well... itll idle fine but if i rev it and when it dies back down i have to give it alitttle gas and it then it evens out and idles till i rev it again.... runs like shit has no power and is all poppy and stumbles.... and air screws are 1 1/2 turns out so im stumped......agghh!!! i just want to ride my sheee!! :*(
  2. ok so i just got my new carbs for my shee and put them on today and sure enough another f-ing problem...... ok so now the bike will hardly idle and runs like crap.. sputters, pops, has no power and wont even go into power band.. so i killed it so i wouldnt mess anything up... although i did get rid of that stupid boost bottle so now i just have procurciut pipes k&N filters and a port and polish and im running needle in the middle clip and 320's for the mains..... the original problem is that it would flood itself out everytime u killed it.... i solved that and it pretty much starts on the first kick cold but now it wont run worth a damn with the new carbs... > the carbs are stock 26mm mukani (or however u spell it) carbs
  3. first off you need to take off the tors and throw it as far as u can and get a removal kit... and the spraying tells u its a carb/ fuel issue so i would start by checking your float levels (had the same problem if i turned the fuel on it just flood right off the bat but if sprayed gas r turned the gas off and drained most of the fuel from the carbs it would start.) also what is your needle clip position?? should be in the middle or stock position.. i would try most of this if u havnt already and if nothing do a comp and leakdown test.... cant hurt.
  4. ok so heres the deal my banshee is basicly new now > and i still have the same freaking problem i had from when i first got it!!!! i can take it out and its starts pretty much on the first kick without choke even.... go out and ride it and it runs perfect.. but when i kill it it just floods itself to death... i have to turn the gas off and wait forever and then kick it with the gas off till it starts and its fine.... so i took the carbs and cleaned them and did a rebuild and it still does it@!!! but i think the problem was when i rebuilt the carbs the neeedle that came with the kit was alittle bit shorter than the old one bout a mm or so.... but my conclusion was that the old needle was worn (original one from 87 i beleive) but then again im not to sure if it was.. im the thrid owner of the bike.... but any way i put the new needles in just to see what would happen and it just basicly ran super rich i tried to start it with the choke and it would just choke itself out and die and was snoking like a mother,,,... but once i took the choke off it idled fine and was good till 1/4 throttle in most of the gears then it starts to kinda bog and pop alot so now its just running super freakin rich.... so what do you guys think.. could it be my needle clip position??? or did they simply send me the wrong needle.... i mean the bike has a fresh topend, fairly new pipes, new filter and fluids, tors removal, completly new wiring, and has pretty much had anything done that was needeing any sort of work..... if anybody has anY!! idea please let me know im really starting to stress over this!
  5. yea thats the o-ring im talking about... cant seem to see where it goes either... so i just left it out as well its running fine cept i didnt put the new needles in and still has flooding problems i guess ill try putting those needles in even though there like a mm shorter or so... mabey just have to adjust my throttle abit :/ this is my only other prob now so if any body has any advice on the needles it would be greatly appreciated!
  6. ok so i think i finaly figured out what the problem is i think i have bad needles in my carb so when i kill the bike its just letting a ton of gas flow into my carb flooding it..... but basicly i just bought a rebuild kit for my carbs and it came with a larger o-ring and couldnt really see where it went.... have any idea where this goes (pics if possible) and also the kit came with neadles that are quite abit shorter..... i have an 87 she is it possible that the sent me the ones for the wrong year??? please if anybody has any ideas let me now cuase im hoping to get this fixed before this weekend so i can take it on my trip
  7. ok heres the dealio.... pretty much my shee has a fresh topend on it with bout 9 hrs on it, rebuilt the carbs, redid the electrical completly, changed all the fluids and airfilter, put on tors removal kit, new clutch, sprockets n chain, and did the jetting... and when i start the bike i just pulll the choke, hardly kick it and it starts first kick, pop the choke in right after it starts and it sits and idles... then take it out and it freakin screams! go whereever i want ride the hell outa it and come back and kill it... but when u go back to start it nothin.... doesnt even sound like it wants to... u have to let it sit for forever!!! and when its pretty much completly cool itll start no prob and run amazing till u kill it and same prob...... so after all the other stuff i did there was only one thing i could think of so i checked the spark after i killed it and it wasnt starting and nothing..... so basicly when its hot no spark.....wtf!?!?!!??!?!?!?!???!?!? arrrrggggghh hh !! im really starting to stress now but it means its either the coil, cdi, or strator... so if anybody has ANY!! idea at all please let me know i just want to ride .....
  8. yeah my thoughts exactly... but i should be able to find one on ebay but no thats not me just a pic i found on tha web to give an example i know how touchy carbs can be i do alot of vechicle work but fairly new to two strokes so im trying to educate myself and get it running as well as possible i want something nice thats reliable
  9. thats what i thought..... i think ill put a couple rounds in to it and leave it to rot but i dont have the original tube is there anything else i can use?
  10. so its not really gonna make a difference if i have one r not???? i mean it seems to run fine other than not starting when its hot >
  11. ok so i took my carbs ou the other day to do the jetting and i noticed that the carb on the right side (one without choke on it) didnt have a splash guard around the main jet.... left one has it... so what im asking is are both carbs supposed to have these or just one????
  12. ok i hear alot of things about boost bottles and i just bought a shee with one and dont know if i should ditch it or not.... so whats the truth on these things?????
  13. Ok i have pro curcuit pipes, k&n filters, port and polish, modified air box, tors removal and im around 4500-5000 feet above sea lvl and right now i have my jetting at about 330 for the mains, stock pilots and needle is in the middle..... if this sounds bout right lemme know... i did a plug chop and from the looks of it im still lean???? and some times at idle nthe left side smokes alittle more than the right not much but there is alittle smoke think it might be a bad boot but any other ideas?? bike runs great and idles greatbut wont start when it gets hot...starts fine cold.... could this have to do with jetting or what??? if anybody has any advice! id really appreciate it cause im lost at this point,,.....
  14. whenever i take my shee out and ride it for any time at all and turn it off it wont start back up.... basicly i can kick it once when its complety cold and hasnt been ridden for a couple hours and itll start right up and idle... but after i go ride it any and turn it off i have to wait till it cools down and then turn the gas off and kick and kick till it kinda starts and a couple kicks later it will start and then i turn on the gas on and it runs great till i kill it again.... seems like its flooding itself when i kill it for some reason.. doesnt seem to get to hot i can never realy feel anychange in the temp when im riding seems to stay bout the same and a couple minutes after you kill it the pipes are cold.... so im stumped... anybody have any idea what it could be??????
  15. lol yeah thats why im waitin on the rims and nerf bars and other things... lol but dont think u can powder coat plastics lol... but for now its just temporary till i can afford new plastics
  16. i used an adhesion promoter and then painted it with rustoleum universal paint and finished with a clear coat seems to be holding up pretty good so far..
  17. well ok heres what i figured out today... i went out today to go ride but had to take the prarie 360 and leave the shee.... well when i got back just out of curiosity i decided to go over and see if it would start and right on the first kick it started! so i rode around for alittle bit killed it went inside for about 5 min came out and it started right on the first kick as before... so i went and rode it a for a few more minutes and then parked it... about 10-15 min goes by and i go to start it again and nothing... i kicked for awhile and still nothing... so i pulled the plug wire took another wire put it in the plug wire and held it up to the head and the plug and no spark!! i was in a dark room to make sure i could see it and no spark at all... so basicly it seems when its been ridden or it gets hot it wont spark but it runs great! it just wont start back up after you kill it.... any ideas?????
  18. ok today i finally got my shee all back together and running so i started to dial in the jetting... when i finally did that i was doing one last plug chop run and did that and pulled the plugs checked them and the looked good put new plugs in and tried to start it and i wouldnt run sat forever kicking checking carbs and everything else when i desided to check for spark annnd... nothing... no spark wtf?? it was just running quite literally 10 minutes ago.... so ran along most of the wires and couldnt really find anything out of place.... right before this happened i just ran it through all six gears which went very well pulled in the clutch and killed it. did all the plug stuff like i said... could this have caused anything??? it had been re wired and no longer has a key switch just a small kill switch. ran fine an started up to this point i just know electrical can be really frustrating so i was hoping someone might have a good place to start??? the quad is an 87 with procurcuit pipes 304 series, k&n air filters, modified air box, boost bottle, barnett clutch kit, TORS has been removed!!, has elimination kit also, port and polish, and top end just rebuilt, im running 330's for my mains right now... dont know if any of this will help but i thought i add it... just really starting to get frustrated > so anything will be helpfull at this point!
  19. thought bout it but i think i like em.. plus i ride alot of trails n stuff so they help alittle to keep me kinda clean.. but thanks glad u guys like it
  20. cool just wanted to make sure im still kinda new to the whole two stroke thing... but thanks
  21. dont know why that other pic is so small....
  22. i think i got my idle pretty much right but i thought id get a few other opinions.. heres a video sorry bout the quality my good camera got wet
  23. i just got done restoring my 87 shee and i have to say im pleased so check it out and tell me what you think.. when i got it: it starts: pretty much done: Still a few things that need to be done (paint rims, nerf bars, ect.) but for the most part its finished
  24. ok i just got my shee not to long ago and tore into it to basicly get everything in oder and to make sure i wasnt going to mess anything up by riding it... so what im looking at doing is keeping it alive as long as possible because there seems to be quite a few cases of peoples shees dieing and i dont have the money or time to have anything go wrong ...but pretty much from what i know is to keep it alive is to keep it cool and have your jetting and carbs dialed in, run good oil through it snd just basic matinence... im thinkin bout a high flow impeller and some of those in line radiator things to keep it nice and cool and in the process of my jetting right now and plan to do a couple plug chops to get it just right... its just i live in a desert and it gets pretty freakin hot and most of my riding is probably gonna kinda be trails so im worried bout heat ... but if anyboody has any pointers on how to accomplish this it would be greatly appreaciated
  25. Ok i have an 87 shee with pro curcuit pipes and silencers, K&N filters with modified air box, barrett cluch kit, boost bottle, and its been ported and polished, so i would GREATLY appreciate anybody that can give the best jetting and any other carb adjustments i could do???? i also live around 5000 ft above sea lvl... so hoping to get it all put back together before this weekend so i can take it out and ride
