dunno if this will help but heres a vid of the bike running after i started it... seems to run great but just wont start after i kill it..... so u tell me wat u think

thanks alot guys for the advice im gonna go home and do a comp test this week and see what my compression is at.... and then probably a leakdown.... but what do u think the deal with the jetting is.. just my mods??? cause like i said with the larger jets it doesnt sputter and pop on the top end but runs like crap other wise.... have the neeedle one clip leaner and airscrews two turns out and that seemed to help .... any ideas why it would be liek that?

thats what i had before was 25 pilots and it had alittle trouble idling so i put those in and it seemed to help... but with with smaller main jets also seemed to pop at the top of sixth... and yes i have to use the choke to start it... but right now i have my air screws at 2 turns out..... the thing is when i was doing my main jets the bike would run great if it had smaller mains like 290's but would gett sputtery and popy at the top of sixth... but would run like crap with somehting like 330's but wouldnt pop at the top of sixth... so i leaned my needle and now seems to running great.... but just wont start back up if u kill it.... same with the leaner jets.... i mean if i let the clutch out and kill it, by the time i get into neutrual it wont start.... any ideas??

ok so iv pretty much completly finished my shee.....and its still got the same damn problem its had from the start and iv got no idea what it could be.... so far i have completely redone the entire wiring harness, fresh plugs, brand new carbs (jetted 330mains, 27.5 pilots, neddle clip 1 leaner, float lvls are at 21mm, synched, choke tube in place, slides are in right), has fresh topend with about 10hrs on it, bought new airfilter, and removed tors...... but basicly what happens is when i go out to ride i can go out and and it will start if its cold basicly the first time i start it... it will start right up on about 2 kicks and i can go out and ride it as long as i want and it runs great pulls all solid all the way through sixth with no bogs has power all the way through the gear... but when i kill it it wont start again till it sits for awhile.... proabably about 10-15 min.... it doesnt seem very hot at all when i ride pretty much doesnt start no matter how long i ride... seems to be flooding... or electrical... but i replaced all of the electrical and strator seems to be working fine the headlights will light up and glow abit when i kick it only thing i can think is the cdi or coil?? im just lost now and kinda need a direction to head in?? so if anybody has any ideas i would greatly appreciate them cause im stumped The Bike: 87 shee pro curcuit pipes and silencers mx port k&n filter removed snorkel tors removal kit boysen reeds

sounds like what i was going through u think u have one and then when u have its trust it turns around n kicks u in that nuts... but i sounds your strator to me so i would get a tester and check ur resistance

lol thats nothin i ordered soem carbs and the guy i got them from had broken the tap off in the carb and put epoxy over it... wtf right... burnt out 4 titanium drill bits and got no where eventually had to beat it out with a big ass hammer and punch... broke two steel punches but i got it out! but in your case it should be easy just get a small drill bit and drill a hole in the middle of the screw and you shouls be able to get an extractor bit from any harware store and use that to get it out just soak it in wd40 and it should come right out

Im waiting on parts and all i can think about is riding my shee .... i think im gonna go crazy if they dun get here soon its gettin cold fast! i just want to get on a nice open stretch and just let her rippp!!! srry jus had to say somethin and like i said i think im goin crazy

yeah thell work just fine i have personally bought this jet kit and it works great! the only thing you have to realize is that the kit doesnt come with all the pilot jet sizes mainly the 27.5's and 30's > but it does come with all of the main jets u will need

i was wondering on the status of this place.... iv heard everything from the land was all bought up and is now privatly owned, they bought some land back and is still open, or soemone died so it was shut down.... so i have no idea what the status of this place is and me and some of my friends have been meening to go up there but we dont want to go if its closed :/ so if anybody knows what acctually happed to it please let me know

just keep poking around on the internet there are some good deals floatin around just gotta snag one... i just picked up my first shee for 1000 and took it home and road the sheet outta it its got pro curciut pipes, k&n filters, barret clutch kit, mx port, plus it was just rebuilt, and started on first kick so just goes to show that there are deals out there and plus u just cant go wrong with a shee theres just nothin else like it... gotta say im in love with mine -
you need to take your carbs off and check your gaskets or just tighten your bowls up and then when you put them back one make sure you check your rubber boots for cracks and make sure everything is really tight and everything gets sealed.. same thing happedned to me turned out i had and air leak and it was smoking more out of one pipe.. also check up by your reed crossover tube (espeshally if you have a boost bottle) because cracks can form there to from the bottle vibrating..

Ok so right now my banshee has pro curciut pipes and silecncers, mx porting , k&n air filters, and a clutch kit.... lol i mean its pretty wicked fast for me now... but as we all know once you start it becomes an addiction ... but any way i want to get a few more upgrages maybe but im lookin for more of maybe bolt on ups if possible... reeds or soemthing maybe... i really dont knwo the next direction to go with my shee... but basicly just looking for some fairly simple and affordable upgrades so if any ideas it would be appreciated

Sounds like your carbs are just super gunked up and when u cleaned them your just moving the crap in them around... i would take them out and take all the jets out and take a really samll gage wire and poke them all out espeshally your pilot jets and sray them and everything with carb cleaner (if you havnt done all this already) also use a air compressor with a small hose attachment or something and blow it out with all the jets out that will get any thing floating aroundin there. because your idle and to about 1/4 throttle has to deal mostly with your pilot jets.. -

yeah check all your rubber boots and make sure they dont have any tears or cracks and you might want to do a leakdown test. but the parking break is park of the tors system in other words do you still have the big boxs on top of your carbs and is the little black box under the gas tank still connected? -

ok first off do you still have the TORS hooked up?? if so u need to remove it! thats probably the root of your problem and when u swapped did you sawp the carbs to? -
thanks guys for all advice i took it for a quick spin yesterday and seemed alittle poppy when i reved it after start up but after it warmed up abit sounded fine but i think its still alittle lean.... not knowing wat porting job was done on it is really killing me on tuning it... so i think im gonna bump it up to the 300's again and check the float lvl's and do a run and if it seems fine ill go ahead and start doing plug chops..

well first off everytime it seems i fix something another problem pops up... but yes i do have a clymers manual (its a pdf on the computer but still all the same) but ok heres the thing with the 300's on there i can tell its to rich simply by the fact that the plugs are all wet when i pull them and it bogs abit but when i put in the 290's ran great but it started flooding and wouldnt start worth a damn after it had been ridden... or could i be mistaken that your plugs are supposed to be alittle wet??? but anyways i guess ill try the float levels but the thing is that the carbs dont leak at all and are in perfect condition..... but im still all unsure.... but srry for all the questions im just trying to educate myself alittle bit and thanks for all the advice guys

forgot this.... but the plugs now a darker choclate brown but still just alittle bit wet wen u pull them although that was with the 300's.. havnt checked after the new jetting

AAAAAHHH ok so heres the deal now..... after the new carbs the bike would always start up and wouldnt do the stupid sh!t where it just floods itself to death everytime you let it sit after riding it... and today after i poped in my 290 mains the stupid thing woldnt even start!!! so after sevral minutes of screaming and cursing and the tjrowing of some tools i drained the carbs and turned off the gas and still wont start... so then i resort to sweet talking it to start... and then she comes to life i take her out for a spin and she fukin rips! the only thing is at the very top of sixth it starts to sputter and pop abit... any idea whats causing this????? so after all of this i kill it and sure enough back to square one,,,.... it wont start again!!!!!!!! so i have to kill the gas and sit... runs great just KEEPS FLOODINNG AGGRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!! soo please if anybody has annnnyyy ideas please let me know... i just want to go ride

the carbs are the best state they could be in right now... the only thing left is the jetting... but the plugs are a darker chocolate brown but still alitttle wet.... so im betting its rich im gonna bump it down to 290's tomorow and see how it goes..

ok so i finally solved my problem with it flooding itslef to death and got it to run better.. but i have one last questionnn??? ok so im doing the jetting now and i think im getting tuned in to the right one.. so right now i have 300's and i think it still might be alittle rich.. so tell me what u think?? starts fine first kick runs fairly well still feels just alittle bit off tho.... so when i go seems alittle sputtery when i really get on it and doesnt like to have the choke on so i know its not lean at all... but seems to bog and wont go into power band or takes a good stretch to get it to go espeshally in higher gears but still will hit it eventually... im at 5000 ft absl and im running pro curcuit pipes n silencers, k&n filter, modified air box still has lid tho, and supposedly port n polish.... not to sure on what it is exactly but thats what the guy said wen i picked it up :/ well so my question is do u think im still alittle rich????

run along all of your wiring alot of the time the wires running along the exhaust will melt to the pipe and ground themsleves out
