  1. I'll say what i've done, I'm 23, finished half a mechanical engineering degree (quit), worked 3 years as a rail loader for FORD, driving you prized possesions and breaking them in properly , I still farm and drive a tree relocation truck, I'm still unemployeed to the government, and I am a turbo guru in my community with the local kids, I basically get paid to hop up there 4bangers. I'm looking to get into tool & die cnc type work possibly. Anyone in the field, I'd love to talk with you about it. email or call me 502 727 6484 thanks Marc
  2. He emailed me back and told me he was selling it for a friend of his. How coincidental huh! Does everyone think that the 33 best for a unported motor? If so, I may just tell the fella to be more careful about misprinted items when posting them on ebay. Marc
  3. Regardless, 310 is a decent deal for what I recieved. I'm not mad with what I got and really don't want to send it back, I just feel like I deserve some type of retribution. What kind, not real sure, and I believe you could be right about it being an honest mistake. I'll keep you posted on his plans for resolving this issue. Thanks for your help, input, and responses. Marc
  4. I bought this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...0&ed=1072225384 and I recieved it yesterday, but the carb number starts off with a S46 telling me it's a 33pwk instead of a 35. I've not yet heard anything back from the seller about this, but what options do I have. I know the 33 is supposed to be better for my none ported shee, but if I wanted a 33 I would have bought one. I'd rather have a 33 over duals, what would you guys do in my shoes. Marc
  5. Thanks, I'll check it over when it gets here.
  6. I bought a 35pwk off ebay and the fella said that's what it was. How can you tell the difference b/w the 33 and the 35? Just making sure I'm getting what I was told I would be getting. Thanks All Marc
  7. Did anybody catch the last monster garage. Jesse took a old peterbuilt and made it into a trik (spelling) Just motor/tranny, bolt to one rear end and one front tire with a side cart to drive it. It was sooo bad ass. Talk about hauling something, this little ride would tow all kinds of shit, and think how cool you'd look doing it. Marc
  8. I'd love some pics, I only wish I would have thought of this before purchasing 130 bucks worth of plastic for my KTM and at a return cost of 20%, I really don't know what I hope happens. If I return them, I'll will have spent 40 bucks for nothing, maybe the pieces will fit that are cracked on my bike and I can just paint everything so that it matches good. Let me get this right, 400grit, and then wet some steel wool and sand, what number steel wool?
  9. Jetro, did you do anything special to your plastic before you painted it? Did it turn out to be shiney, dull, I wouldn't mind to paint some things. Would you reccommend it.
  10. 1980 International Scout II, 3.3L turbo diesel, 3.73's open f/r, custom bumpers, custom downpipe/exhaust, 33/9.5/15 BFG MT's to dig, lifted with roller skate wheels, PIAA lights, 8000lb WARN winch (not used on me)! The poor mans hauler of choice, it pulls like your daddy's hemi cuda
  11. Don't know if this will help but Wal-Mart is now selling plastic spray paint. Not sure how good it is, but it may be worth a try for 10bucks.
  12. even White Brothers retail for two pilots are 5bucks for two, so I'd say you got robbed, next time go to Rockymountain atv or a similar place. Sometimes your the hammer sometimes your the nail, don't worry about it.
  13. I think I may order a set of barnett springs also, and maybe run like half barnett/EBC or tusk. I also heard a while back that stock YZ490 springs are a good upgrade for a banshee, any truth in that? Marc
  14. I'm running it, however I'm using a mikuni carb and the midrange makes a butt load more power then my stockers did. My clutch slips too bad up top so I'm not a good person to ask about top end power. Once I get a clutch and jet it a little more I post up and tell everyone how it's working. Most people use a PWK 33 or 35 carb, I would go with the 35 b/c anyone with a banshee will more then likely port it at one point or the other. SO the 35 I think is a better all around setup that you won't have to upgrade when you do port work. The 33 is said to be better on a unported motor, but I think everyone will agree that the 35 rips just as hard unported. Good luck with your decision. Marc
  15. We'll I believe I'm sold on it, I was debating the EBC kit for 75 vs. the barnett for 110, but I don't need to do the math to figure out the tusk comparison. Hell I may even use there so called heavy duty springs, they can't be that bad. I'll sure in the hell find out if they are.
  16. I've had this done for quite some time. I'm planning on the DIY temp gauge and I'll see how hot it's getting. Until then, I'm still seeking solutions. Marc
  17. I'm looking to get me a new clutch and I found a EBC clutch kit for 82 dollars shipped. Barnett makes some with kevlar or carbon fiber or just a heavy duty cork clutch for 115 shipped. Does anyone think that I will notice 33 dollars difference between the two, besides my wallet. Not trying to be a cheap ass, just trying to get the best out of my buck. Thanks Marc
  18. Now right now I just have the stock head.
  19. What is the o-ring that you replaced. My banshee is always boiling and doing just as you described yours used too. I'd love to get this fixed, b/c I'm always afraid I'm going to burn up my motor. All the details you can give the better. Thanks
  20. Any more help please
  21. I have a rk chain that pooped out on a friends quad that I fixed for him. It was only a month or two old and it just snapped in three places. It was a polaris and I'm most confident that I didn't over-tighten it. So anyway, If anyone could help find a number and a way for me to contact there usa based company i would greatly appreciate it. Marc
  22. go to jameslucky.com and looks at their clutch kits. I'll need a clutch one day and I was looking at their carbon fiber or carbon kevlar kits. I know from my automobile experience that they hold up forever, and carbon fiber is the material used on all 10sec and faster import drags, it was derived from formula 1 technology. So for the same price i don't think you can go wrong. I posted on here a while back and no one said anything good/bad about what I'm suggesting. So happy hunting. Marc
  23. Does it do anygood to chop the throttle a few times before kicking it, sorda to shoot fuel into the motor? Also, if it requires more then a few kicks to get it going, do you need to go up on the pilot jet or down?
  24. yeah, it idles like a champ, I'll test my main jets, fix the needle and see what kind of speed I'm getting. Something tells me with 6years on it, it could use a new clutch. Thanks for the help. Happy Thanksgiving Marc PS, it's not starting very easy, i dunno if i had some wd in the carb or what, but now i'm kicking my leg off trying to start. How do I know if i need a larger or smaller pilot jet?
  25. I guess I should be pretty happy, I took a trinity 2:1 manifold and put a stock 2000 polaris scrambler 400 carb on it. It's a 35mm mikuni, it's no fancy flatside or anything, i installed with the stock jets in it. I'm running ported reed cages and TDR reeds, degree key, and pt mids. Miracously the bike started up within 10 kicks and it has been sitting for months. I adjusted the idle and it sounded perfect, so I decide to take it for a quick spin, it was 30 degrees so i just ran across the field a few times and parked it. Low end feels good, no hesitation and if I go WOT it goes full on without missing. Midrange is so so, if i'm in a higher gear and decide to go WOT it will miss and sputter before clearing up. Do I need to lower or raise my needle? Top end feels strong, but the damn throttle sticks WOT everytime I nail it so I have to chop the throttle to unstick it. What's the fix to this??? I've yet to do a plug test at WOT b/c of the cold weather and more importantly my lack of clothing. Honestly, it doesn't feel any faster then it was when I was running a moto-fast 2-1 and stock carbs. Could my stock clutch be slipping and me not no it? I know a slipping clutch, and it hooks down low, but maybe the top end is to much for the clutch. I hope that someone can help me address my problems, I have nothing to do tomorrow but play with my toys, girlfriend and mom works, so I guess dad and I will mess around in the barn as usual. Thanks again Marc
