  1. Its all in the setup and rider...what was the length of the race???? I just trail ride my shee but its the same on sleds. I race 500' with snowmobiles and its basically first one to hook up. Here is a video of last years race. My helmet cam is on my buddies head, hes on a Viper 700 trip with speedworx head, SLP pipes, clutch work (I did the clutch setup) and we both had 1.5" track. Im two lanes over on the left with my "little 600" twin stock pipe, my clutch work, geared down one tooth and reeds...he has me in hp by at least 35-40hp. All day my sled was hooking up good and beating other 600,700,800's that had way more hp then me and talk about people being pissed off. This was just my trail sled to
  2. So its sand drags and mud drags? Anyone got any videos from last year? Sounds like fun
  3. I cant stand people like this. Hope you get your stuff back
  4. I'll be 27 on Sunday living in MI
  5. The carbs I have are junk, always have been sinse I bought the bike. I m just done with be stranded on the trail and not running right because of the carbs. Im not new to carbs by anymeans, parts are broke off and the idle srews are so f-ed you cant even turn them. Hard to tune with junk carbs. I dont mind the old school round side carbs and for the price dont really want to spend anymore money on carbs then this. The 22's are what came with the bike, works out nice because the fields I do ride in have stumps, logs and rocks that the 2" of extra travel helps. I do like to find some mud and play in that, also works out nice in the sand...dont spin as much. I just had a chance to get these carbs from someone I know so thats why I was wondering if it would be worth it. Otherwise I can just stick with a smaller or go a differet route.
  6. I have pulled the plug on my carbs and finally getting something new. Sick of rebuilding. So Im thinking of going with a 34mm Mikuni Round Side carbs. I have a 99 with a Vitos .040 Super Stock Piston Kit, T5's, Vitos two stage reeds, Moose boost bottle, Vitos needls stock gearing, 22" Mud Lites, HD clutch springs, K&N air filter, run Klotz 32:1 and do trail riding. My question is if I jump up to a 34mm carb... A)Will these carbs be to bigg for my setup and type of riding I do? B)Will I notice that much more in my ride? C)Will I need throttle cables? I have a year old throttle cable that came with the Vitos TORS Kits. Thanks for your input.
  7. Monster Stickers claim about 5-7hp...just sayn.
  8. This is at the site of one of the biggest Asphalt Races. Sept. 24, 25, 26, MSA will be sponsoring a Swap Meet at the Martin U.S. 131 (MI) Dragway in conjunction with the American Snowmobiler Shoot Out. This is a shoot out of the world's fastest snowmobiles. Speeds will be near the 180 MPH range and many new records are expected to be set. There will be well over 300 participants racing sleds and some will also be racing motorcycles. We need members to volunteer to help with the swap meet. Here is the perfect opportunity for you to help out MSA and at the same time see the world's fastest sleds in action. There is dry camping at the track for the volunteers, plus free admission to the race. Email the office if you can help out. office@msasnow.org Put in the subject line "131 Volunteer" Join the fun, help out, and witness history in the making!!!! If we have too many offers to help, names will be put into a hat and a drawing will be held. Thanks Jim Dickie MSA President The swap meet is new this year. I thought I heard a few years ago that at this shoot out they had a handful of Banshees runnig to? Should be a good time.
  9. When I bought mine from some stranger on CL I knew going into it that it was going to be a "project bike" Talked him down to $1100, came with 3 sets of tires, but... I had to turn around and replace, clean and rebuild almost everything. Spending another $800-$900 back into it. Its just a trail bike, not a show bike. Im happy with it, like mentioned above parts are cheap and find them anywhere. Yeah I could have just spent that $900 up front and got a "better bike"????Sure, but at least this way I know what has been done to it and what to keep an eye on. Last thing you want is to be broke down on the trail somewhere having to walk. Good luck
  10. Well considering I got a new/used set off of Rocky Mountain ATV shipped to the house for $75...scatch and dent section somone returned them because of a scratch on one side, not deep but if it was a show bike wouldnt work. The type of riding I do I will probably be adding a few scratches of my own. Came with nets and all the hardware. Money well spent. just my 2cents
  11. Im running a set of ITP Mud Lites-22s and love them, using stock gearing works well for the woods. My buddy has 20" of the ITP XCRs and they are very nice but in loose sand and mud situations thats where those Mud Lites really turn on. Like mentioned before the extra 2" makes the difference if your going to clear that rut or not. Im really turned on with the ITP HDs, man I saw a set in person, 22" wow maybe later on this year.
  12. Did you sell the carbs? If not let me know.
  13. Good topic... I havent road on the dunes yet, need sparkies first but hopefully I can experience it this summer. Trail riding your always on the clutch, keeping your rpms in the power band. I know one trail that I have road a few times is only a 50" trail...it gets really tight especially when you meet a bike head on in the corners...there eyes get so big when they realize that there is no more room around a quad. I would just think that at the dunes you are paying attention to who might be coming over the other side of the hill but like mentioned before on the trails you have rocks, ruts, corners, trees and other idiots riding just like you head on.
  14. OK guys thanks for the replies, I just got back this morning so I am going to reply to everyone in the order I recieved the messages/replies. Thanks.
  15. I have a set of stock carbs with the TORS still on, was going to buy the TORS kit but I was looking at my carbs and man they have been through hell and back. Looking for stock size or bigger, without the TORS...I still have the stock airbox (with K&N filter) and carb boots so if you have something that wont fit that let me know...willing to up grade with the carbs. Let me know what you have, total price with shipping to 49345. Thanks.
  16. Are the Carbs and filters still for sale? How much shipped to 49345? Will they fit the stock boots?
