  1. Buy clamp ons and be done with it. You don't need the airbox unless you REALLY get into the mud deep. sell your airbox and you have half of the clamp ons paid for. Don't forget to run outerwears.
  2. It means there are 138,000 potential HQ contributers who are either under fire or simply not riding therefor not interested. I think this is having a HUGE influence on the sport.
  3. It just needed to be done. You either have to regulate from within or have netnanny do it. I think we all agree it's better to have in house regulation.
  4. I have heard this every once in a while but the HQ goes in waves. There are alot of people busy doing holiday shopping, winter is coming up and there is less work needed on most Banshees, people who have jobs are working extra hours for the holidays, people who don't have jobs, can't afford to ride or are getting rid of them and finally there are 138,000+ young people of ATV riding edge in the middle east who are thinking about roadside bombs and looking thru the local dumps for safety glass and metal plates to weld into their jeeps. Not exactly a 9 to 5 job where you feel like wrenching after work.
  5. Yeah... need to know if you're stock or not.
  6. Just topping it off.
  7. WOW That one is alot more friendly than the version I've been playing... http://home.comcast.net/~digitaldemon4/penguinX.swf
  8. This would be the perfect opportunity to call in the BHQ/ eBay hit squad. This is a sleeper cell of BHQ members from around the world that will put out a hit on anyone. We would all need special cell phones or something but you could call that number, name the deadbeat on an auction or the fool who trampled your bike and an anonimous BHQ member would "take care" of the problem. You guys in the UK could always blame it on campus violence or rage after a football game
  9. I've been looking for an Aluminum one. Thanks for the tip.
  10. I say that since there are guys here from all over the world, we form a sleeper cell hit squad like Bourne Identity. Someone makes a call and then the hit team goes into effect. We could rent ourselves out for eBay transactions too. Ebay seriously needs it.
  11. I tried that and wasn't really happy with the outcome. It seems my bolt was hardened and I couldn't drill it for nothing plus the hole in the sleeve would have to line up with the cross drilled hole in the bolt for the grease to go in easily and with the grease fitting sticking out of one end, if you did have to put the hammer to it, you would have to hammer right on the grease fitting. For me it was just as easy putting it in the swingarm itself. A couple quick measurements and it was in there.
  12. How about a price for the axle and hubs? Send a pic to... [email protected]
  13. I wish I could help you out with that. You're not in need of a mortgage or something are you? Maybe we can work something out that way.
  14. Yeah what boon said. There is a sleeve that the bolt goes thru and the sleeve is rusted to the bolt. The bearings ride on the outside of the sleeve so usually the bolt will tun but since the sleeve is welded to the bolt because of rust and junk, the only way to get it out is with the hammer. Heat will not work because there is an air gap between the outside of the swingarm and the inner sleeve and you could cook the swingarm til it's red and still not effectively heat the sleeve inside. The best thing to do is lean it over to the side and really wail on it. once you get it hammered flush with the frame, flip it over on the other side and pound it back in. It may take a few times doing this but it will come out. Before you put it all back together, drill the swingarm for a grease fitting. The dimensions shown are where to put the grease fitting and the sleeve is the thing in the first pic. I drill a hole in it too so that when you grease the bearings, you get some grease to the bolt. Of course if you grease the bearings the chances of ever having to remove the bolt are much smaller but at least if you decide to get a diff swingarm, you can get the old one off. The last pic shows how it all goes together. The sleeve is sticking out of the end of the swingarm a little. The dust caps go on over that and the swingarm goes in the frame. The bolt goes thru the sleeve. Total cost to install a grease fitting is about $1. Well worth the effort.
  15. How much were they? Do you mean Mercury cars or Mercury Outboards?
  16. I can't believe I waited 15 minutes on my dialup connection for that to load. This is a much better hunting game http://www.siski.ru/escopeta.swf
  17. Cool site. I've requested a quote. THANKS
  18. There are several formulas that Amsoil has. One of the problems I've heard of is people mixing the various formulas at the wrong ratios. I sell Amsoil and use Amsoil. I run the 100:1 formula at 80:1 which is no problem. It is sold in small bottles and 1 bottle mixed with 5 gallons is 80:1 or 6 gallons is 100:1. So it is super easy to mix. It's also very affordable. They have injector oil, a combination injector/premix oil and their racing formula. One guy that was on here bad mouthing Amsoil had used their racing formula but mixed it at 80:1 which it is not designed for and then he was crying that his engine had a melt down. I run my banshee, basically stock engine with reeds, Trinity pipes and Toomey 2:1 filter ALL YEAR ROUND and never mess with the jetting or the premix... Always 80:1. When I ride in the winter I run at high revs for hours and have never even had a hint of a problem. I used to run Yamalube at 40:1 and switched directly to Amsoil. Maybe I'm one in a million but when I want to ride, I ride no matter what time of year it is and have never had a problem. If you plan to use alot of it, you can become a preferred member of Amsoil and buy direct for as little as $10 and you can be a dealer for as little as $30 a year. I can't think of a reason to use anything else.
  19. I think they use them in saltwater marine applications. I just hate plated steel. Besides I'm going to modify the carrier so I can grease it from the sprocket side where the adjuster holes are instead of the center.
  20. I have always ridden in the winter and have never messed with the carbs. I run Amsoil at 80:1 and ride wide open for hours in sub-zero temps. So from my perspective, make SURE it is warmed up and then ride and make SURE you are running a quality oil. I have never burned up an engine in the cold weather but it just may be that I'm the exception to the rule. I guess a cheap sled is about the same cost as a new engine so consider that
  21. I finally got a new round carrier and I want a rust proof grease fitting for it. Does anyone know where I can get stainless grease fittings? Ideally I'd like to get straight, 3/16", press in fittings.
  22. I use the Walmart Super Tech or whatever it's called engine degreaser for 97 cents a can. It foams up so it stays where you spray it. Let that soak for 5-10 minutes and hose it off. Really tough baked on grease, I use cheap oven cleaner I get from the dollar store. Spray it on thick, let it set for 5-10 minutes and hose it off. DO NOT get the oven cleaner on billet aluminum OR spray painted surfaces or it WILL remove the finish or paint. It seems the factory painted surfaces are OK with the oven cleaner. I cleaned a whole Blaster frame, pipes, engine, swingarm... all the greasy stuff and I only went thru 1 can of each. Next time it needs to be cleaned will be alot easier.
  23. There is even pics on the site yet. Maybe Gold plated. I won't vouch for the bearings yet either... we haven't worked out the fine print yet
  24. I was contacted by RPM to supply bearings for the new RPM A arms. I wasn't pursuing them, they found me. So I looked at their website and their new A arms are $1200.00. Would you pay that much for non adjustable A arms?
