Well maybe I WAS the best rider that day. Like i ALSO stated raced mostly 4 bangers and none of them were built, just piped if that.....I mean it is what it is.... but i do get ya sarcasm and u know as well as i do I cant hang with the boys at planet sand, get real. Plus i appreciate what yall do in the sand, but we have none here so therefore its not my cup of tea, id rather dirt drag....Since u wanna compare apples to oranges, put ya shee on the pavement against my zx14 and see how well ya do partna!......thats about what ya sound like with that planet sand shit knowing i gotta stock motor.
-
its not what it sounds like really.....lol ive had cool head on the shee for a couple weeks now and i have some chrome head nuts i got from cascade.... can i replace the stock nuts with these one by one without loosing seal on the head? would it be ok?
-
uwenr - maybe u can blow my balls...... hows that sound? lmao u clearly are taking my post the wrong way. never said i was the best rider or have the fastest shee... its stock motor. bhatch21 - yea actually i just purchased a house on 59 West about 10 mins up the road from sugar creek....kept riding my zx14 past there and couldnt take it no more, the dirt was calling me so i scooped up a shee for cheap and fixed it up a little just to ride. U come there often? have u rode there? maybe we can get together n ride...i got a few guys with shees i ride with.

Maybe moreso to the newbs on the site or first timers doing your own maint like myself. Was out riding last weekend and noticed chain was jumping teeth, i checked it, it was tight.... Started again i checked it chain was loose...Also had some screeching like old brakes coming from rear... so i grabbed both wheels and had alot of slack in carrier. Took it straight back to trailer about a 1/2 mile in first gear all the way, screeching like hell.....got new bearings and seals in today and tore it apart, bearing were in 2,000 pieces. guys do not slack on your bearings, if u have any play in your axle change em.... Just in that short of a time the axle started mushrooming the end of carrier and ball bearings had came out and wedged between axle and spacer and started gouging spacer..... CHANGE EM ! PLEASE!

Ohh i can agree somewhat, Im 190lbs, one is 201lbs and the other guy is freakin tiny...maybe 150 at best.... the Shee with the T5's and V3's feels waaaaaaaay faster than mine especially up top. If i get the holeshot I win..... simple, theres not enough room for him to walk me down in 330ft... We were racing on a dirt drag track and honestly the Kenda Klaws were hooking thier ass off and maybe they ( the other 2 shees) were spinning too much. I just know i had a good day...lol and no i havent had ne problems with 450's though ive only raced a few, im NOT saying thier Turds im just saying i havent been beat by any. Im not saying they cant be fast or arent, im saying i havent been beat by one around here. Further more the 660's can be made fast, i had one for a SHORT time.... like maybe a week and got rid of it. It had the big bore kit and was piped... TURD. Thats all i can say. I was gonna get it built and local builder said rod angle was way wrong and if you put the money into it to make it fast, big stroker etc... it will not last. So i went and got me another shee.... as for the 700's dunno much about them, raced a couple and though it wasnt a disaster or nothing i did not loose....I mean were not hillshooting and if you make a mistake in 330ft its pretty much a wrap. Ohh well, its all good! hahahha

Thank u Mr Jackson! I wasnt gonna respond to his comment but now i feel the urge hahah Im not a expert by far as Ive been out the game for a while racing streebikes but got me a house in the country and decided I needed a toy to play with.... yes I know its not the fastest banshee, I mean cmon the thing isnt even ported, in due time...along the a 4mill crank! I ran against 2 ported banshees both with v3's toomey etc and i beat them, not once but probally 10 times, were they shitty riders? i wouldnt say that.... and I like your honesty but I have ran with several raptors and none even came close....the 660's r a joke and even if u got the money to make em fast they are not gonna last......the 700's fair a little better but if u can cut a good holeshot its bye bye cry yo ass off baby need a bib????.... and thats honesty. It might not be modded to hell but I can ride. and when i do get it like a want game over...lol.... especially to the crowd around here....

Case broken from chain coming off, how to repair?
Ieat4strokes replied to VWMIKE's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
bad bearings will toss a chain...... happened to me. slack in the carrier due to bad bearings will make chain loose enough to come off! especially if u ride like me! not saying this is more likely to happen more than another circumstance but it wll happen..... keep good bearings, oil the shit outta ya chain after every ride, get a case saver!!! cheap insurance! as long as hes not leaking oil throw some jb weld on it to keep shit out ya case and ride.... -
start up wide open throtle?
Ieat4strokes replied to ericsullivan's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
this happened to me when i put my cool head on, my cables were in a bind...... does ur throttle push in and return freely? as stated look at the slide in ur carb and make sure its not hanging.....i would deff check cables or maybe even replace cable... -
man i just went through the same problem..... all i did was change timing plate to an advanced one..... just moving the stator made it go bad...... ran fine before.... i would start there as usually thats all u move thats electric involved when u changed plate..... also check ya pickup gap....
-
not in certain gears just when under load or blipping the throttle......it was making a very loud and noticable screeching noise form the rear.......while i was going back to the trailer......like the bearings where about to seize....the chain would be tight then loose....after we tightened chain the jerking popping stopped thats when the screeching started from the rear, i guess tension from tightenin the chain put stress on already bad bearings.....it had been sitting a while before i bought her.
-
yea i was thinking the same thing, after i said it means im faster i said u do realize ur drag racing ryte? lol.... dumbass....neways we went back today and there was several banshees out there today and same results, i was usually a couple bikes to a half bike ahead of the other shees..... all were just ported n piped reeds etc...... im 186 and the friend that I was racing with the T5s is 205......all in all i had fun.... first time to really just ride since ive had it.... UNTIL - when i was launching it would jerk n pop like the damn chain was jumping teeth, i was adjusted all the way out so i headed to the house to get my stock front sprocket to try to take the slack out, got it back tgether and took out and same thing... checked chain again and it was loose.... rolled it forward it would tighten up... yes carrier bolts were tight and it baffled me so on way back to truck it started whalling/screaching like old brakes on car..... i have slack and shit in my carrier.... friend said bearing were shot and thats what was making noise! so i guess ima order some bearings and get her back right, sucks though cuz it ruined a day of riding.... only thing i could see is that the carrier had so much play it was allowing the chain to loosen and thus jumping teeth on rear sprocket, u could grab rear tires and shake it back and forth and the chain would tighten and loosen?????

went to the local spot for the first time with the shee, actuallyu the first ride since i bought her they have mx track, 330 ft dirt drags and miles and miles of trails, hillclimbs etc.... well after riding some trails we headed straight for the drags, this is however where i felt at home because ive dragged streetbikes for some time....i outran everyone at the spot probally 20 different guys all on 4 bangers everyone swearing up and down i had motor work, how much money ive spent etc etc....I went with a good friend with a 03 shee.... T5's, v3s, ported and shaved head, 36mm Keihns stock gearing and wasnt impressed at all.....i beat him everytime, even let him leave first and still pulled him..... granted he did have some slick ass tires but still.... his is got to be tuned wrong or something he should kill me with the mods he has.... my mods are fmf fattys, uni filter, lid still on airbox, +4 timing, cool head 21cc domes.... -1 front sprocket.....260 mains at sea level..... either these guys cant ride or im just that fast or just that damn good lol....... neways just wanted to share my experience! some asshole was on a 700 raptor piped getting his ass toasted in the drags then had the nerve to tell me after i won straight line dont mean shit.... i laughed and said yea it does, it means im faster! banshee ftw!
-
as stated in first post i have Plenty spark! i did however fine the problem. when removing old head the black zip tie that holds all wires together go in between the throttle cables and had the carbs wide open.....after pulling it around the yard a few times it finally started to fire up but ran wide open..... so i parked and pulled off tank and seen the cables where in a bind because of that black zip tie thing had gotten in between the cables where they split into 2. re routed them and now she hauls ass! that head with 21cc domes and +4 advance i just put on really made a difference...... so now for the port and 4 mill! buahahhahahah thanks guys
-
when i say good i mean fresh top end.... ran fine, noticably harder to kick after head install......so compression is higher..... yes the head is all i changed, ran fine before..... headlights try to come on while kicking....so elec system is ok? when we tried to push off it bogged like it wasnt getting fuel, wouldnt respond to throttle...i dont have a compression guage but like i said fresh top end, ran fine before head install.....
-
installed my pro design head and it will not crank! do i need diff plugs? longer ones? theres a ton of spark! its getting fuel, tried to push it off and it just bogs......wtf is going on???? plenty of compression..... im lost

install chariot advance, wil not crank
Ieat4strokes replied to Ieat4strokes's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
just wanted to touch base and maybe help anyone trubleshoot a similiar problem, got my shee back from a builder today and evidently my stator crapped out by me just by moving it. He said it was bad, that no wires were loose or no signs of damage on my part but just went out from me moving it out the way to install plate..... neways i got her back now and she's running fine. Installing coolhead tomm, hopefully coil dont shit on me by unplugging spark plugs hhahaha -
questions about timing plate and cool head
Ieat4strokes replied to thelegend702's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
nothing wrong with the older style cool head. i was actually told they run cooler because they are hollow on the inside and more of it is gutted? i dont know, just stating what i was told..... -
yea i seen tha ones on cascades site..... damn 30 bones! o well they are nice lookin lol.... guess ill use stockers until they come in..... thanks again!
-
yes its a pro design head......like i said i had a decent picture but better safe than to toast a motor on speculation ya heard. as far as the acorn style nuts, do any part stores carry em or lemme guess, im looking at more down time cuz they have to b ordered? thanks for all the help.
-
anyone have a pictured step by step or can give me a decription on where the orings go on the head? i have a good mental picture but dont wanna mess nothin up provided i have such greeat instructions included with my new head. thanks

I was thinking of a good project....
Ieat4strokes replied to BlasterKX's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
finally something i can comment on...... id say go for it, Im a kaw man when it comes to motorcycles, I own a zx14, and a zx9r......the 600's are putting out more than 90hp, more like 112hp and the weight may be a factor compared to a banshee motor but you gotta consider torque.... a 600 motor will put out double the torque of a banshee motor, so itll weigh itself out. I gotta friend of mine with a 1000 kaw motor on a honda 400 ex frame that flat out rips ass! If you decide to do it be sure to include pics!!!! good luck -
appreciate the advice, will def keep that in mind, ima newbie here so i havent been formally brainwashed into using ONLY a certain builder. lol
-
I believe this to be the case...... He barely let me get the sentence out before telling me no you dont have to. He has been porting banshee's for about 10yrs now and says he hardly sees them anymore, works on 4 strokes mainly now. Good stand up guy and reasonable prices but if he cant get me what I want and is not keeping up with up to date changes its best i look elsewhere. I have a friend with a "mild" port job from this same guy and i swear mine feels faster ive rode both. His has a real lag at the bottom end and mines way more snappy. So whom would u suggest I look into to do my work for me when I get some cylinders?
-
I meant not to include or disclude anyone, im a newbie here and obviously dont know everyone by name.... I dont even know who the "gentleman" is. Just thought he was a helpful member. My apologies sir.... Just that Jeff and Jim and herr jugs are a constant ring i hear in my ears.....
