ok.. now i know. also the stock pistons from the dealer ( yamaha) cost $150 per piston, comes with the rings only, no circlips or wrist pins. so id spend about $350 if i bought a set of stockers with the circlip wrist pin etc.
-
nono.. i could have sworn people said that here. i asked because my mechanic told me im crazy and wiseco is better than stock. sorry for the dumb question, but i swear i coulda sworn people saying the stockers are tougher and last for ages! im 100% sure!
-
i keep hearing from people that stock pistons are better than wiseco, that makes sense to me because on the box it says "wiseco forged pistons", meaning they are trying to copy stock ones but just cant do it aswell? so which one is longer lasting and better quality? so if i was to bore out my juggs. assuming the stock and wiseco were the same price, which set of pistons should i get?

you have a few mods, and you are running leaner than stock on the airscrew. turn that airscrew in 1 complete turn. so its 1 and a quarter turns out. and if you have some kind of aftermarket filter.. turn it in 1 and a half turns more from that it is now so its only 3/4 turns out.

Need some expert opinions, help me out guys

yeah, as much as i like 2 strokes, 4 strokes are really nice... they are so comfortable. they are fun to ride, its really nice, a 450... seriously those are the best of the best, for so cheap and brand new, seriously.. its PERFECT! -
around here where i live, when people ONLY put pipes on ( keeping stock airbox that is) , so just pipes, they tend to keep stock mains and it still runs good. your not that far off im going to GUESS...since you still got the airbox with lid. but yeah to be safe i would listen to what others said and jet up 1-3 sizes (220-240 mains) if you just got it piped

you really did a good thing.. the more i have my banshee the more im starting to like those 4 strokes.. they are just so new.. the banshee is fast sure.. but its an old model and outdated.. bah.. yeah, 4 strokes are all newer etc.. you did a good thing. and its much much better to have brand new, thats really a good price. you paid $1800 more, for a quad which is much better, and 8 years newer, ad BRAND new. -
weird for me, when i start my quad the next day.. it will start with or without choke on 1st kick always.. but just when it fires.. i gotta keeeep revving it.. it gives a deep throaty noise as if it has shitloads of air stuck inside it and not enough gas ( even with the choke fully pulled out), soo i getta keep revving it for about 5-6 sec then it idles from then on perfectly. always starts 1st kick no choke.. but if i dont got a choke i gotta reallllly rev it hard or else it will turn off... but if i choke it full.. i still gotta rev it.. as it gives deep throaty boggy air noises and dies out the second i dont rev.. but like i said after 5 secs its fine.. never seen a bike like that but yeah..

its a 2000 banshee.. it looks mint cause they cleaned the outside... who knows what problems are hiding inside it.. i would NO doubt get the yfz 450.. they normally retail here where i live for 8k$... get the yfz!! seriously! ( thats what id do atleast) also notice the rust of the pipe from the exhaust port, and the rust by the pipe mount hangers -
should race soon... im gonna make the race the length of about when i would finish at full out on 5th.. so it would be short.. im gonna go now to the spot were gonna race ( road), and race myself, and see where i will be on 5th gear full out. and make it that long.

Is it worth going aftermarket on a stator?
blaster2006 replied to blaster2006's topic in General Banshee Discussion
yeah, im choosing between 2 kits, one is just a stock replacement, the other is a 100W, lets say i choose to go with the 100watt, there is nothing tricky, just easly replace the old stator and good to go, and whats the advantage of having a higher voltage stator? how is it better, sorry if its a dumb question... -
hey, im looking to buy an adj timing plate.. i found an okay deal that comes with an aftermarket stator + the timing plate.. the brand is ricky.. or RM .. ricky something not sure.. is it worth getting it? or should i just forget the new stator, ? i could get them both for about 70-80$ or i can just get the timing plate for $35.. what should i do?

07 banshee in the US? falcon edition one?

yeah okay ill try and make it a short one. ill post vids up soon..

there was a guy here who posted his results. he had max HP at 40.28 or 40.5, he had pipes, reeds, K&N filter, cool head 18cc domes. so yeah i dont think it would be over 50hp... i think the only thing you got extra is the mild port and +4 timing
-
got a m8 who wants to race me with his dodge durango.. he says its a 5.7L, it will be on road, wwhen we race we will choose how long it will be, so it can be short or long. about whats the longest i can go 1/8 mile? or should it be less to beat him? or will i even beat him alone? mods are in sig.. rider skills are 10/10 in road ( ive been practicing ALOT) but rider weight is 230 lbs
-
?????????????? $300???????????????????? seriously WTF.... i would easily buy 3 of those if i could.. rolling chassis go for up to 1k$.. your lucky man.. lucky...
-
whatt... people who say like 4+ hours? 4 hours of idling maybe.. -.- or low end riding.. i get from about 1.5 hours.. to a MAX of 2.5 hours.. im running mostly stock crap.. stock carbs 280 mains and stock clip, and only 1/2 a turn richer on air screw
-
out of curiosity.. how much did you pick up that shee for.. and how is its condition other than a bad crank..
-
yeah, fmf claims sst to be "all around". DMCs either have really shitty bottom end or its just me with bad jetting. but i know they are screamers at top as i repeat.. but if you need some low end i think going with the DMCs might not be a great idea.

halla sa3ood. keef 3l ha3l? la tisma3 7atha 3lee ee goolak lean. your too rich... for living in the middle east i have same mods, same temp, sea level just like you.. im running 280 mains.. but im thinking i need to go 290s. or not more than 300s. bump down to 300s sa3ood.. im sure it will be better.. my friend in dubai also has an 07 shee.. but it has porting, and 4mm crank, cool head.. and most importantly 36mm carbs( bigger carbs need way mroe fuel to be as much as smaller carbs).. and he is running 330.. and he is abit rich.
-
dont get me wrong here. but im almost 100% sure that there are many dealers who sell aftermarket mods never reccomend new pilots, just tighteneing air screw abit claims that it does the trick. for personal experience, i put on not only pipes, but K&N filters.. ( clamp ons) so ALOT more air... and i kept stock pilot just tightened the air screw 1/2 a turn and runs great.. so based on that criteria.. maybe if you tighten the air screw with only pipes/ silencer im sure you should be fine. all this info is based on my personal experience.

get the DMC 916s, id really say... they are basically a better version of toomeys. they claim gains of 37% in HP and 30% torque... they really are SCREAMERS when they hit top end
-
that would be an 1989 engine. just kidding, i have no clue
-
if you think about it. it was loosing oil in the first place simply because it was too loose.. then when i tigheneed it it moved like 1/4 more of a turn... although it was weird. when it turned... in the begining i had to push hard. then it moved eas for 1.4 turn then it became tight again. then i stopped now it does not leak. lets wait and see till next oil change
