yea that makes sense those tunnels sizes may in some way or another act as a thermostat. and trust me i kno from experience when coolant flows thru a system to fast it overheats b/c the coolant doest get a chance to stay in the radiator long enough to cool down

you may need to get new bolts depending on how old the carrier style is i put a newer style carrier on my 88 and had to get new bolts b/c they bolt up exactly the oppisite. it will work but you may have to take a trip to lowes. even tho it really doesnt apply to this problem but i think the 89 was the only year with the 4 on 156 rear bolt pattern

the dyna tek stock curve is still further advanced than stock and plus 4 on the plate is too much to run with the dynatek i did it and it was too much it didnt want to run for shit when it was hot and it also did run hotter. plus the fucking thing sounded like a race car with a with a huge cam in it really choppy. i knocked it back to plus 2 with stock curve and it seems to be better

dude dont even waste ur money on the hide a key just get rid of it. the key is not much of a theft protection all it does is slow a theif down for about 30 seconds. the key switch is a fucking joke all you have to do is unplug it from the harness and the bike will start right up. buy urself a heavy chain and lock and get rid of the key

well here is what i think if it is an ignition problem it is 1 of 2 things either the coil or the plug wire and if either is ur problem replace both cuz you can get a coil with the wires on it fairly cheap. you can check that easily by flip flopping the plug wires if the problem follows the wire replace it. dont worry about putting the wires on backwards b/c both plugs fire every time either piston comes up. it will be no further back than the coil b/c that is the first place the ignition splits if it were any further back you would have problems on both sides.its probably not a crank seal b/c it would be a real bitch to start and it would backfire like a mother fucker. to be honest with you i think ur jetting is all fucked up

it could have a bad stator and still run fine b/c the ignition and lighting power are on 2 maybe 3 seperate sets of windings. its most likely not the stator b/c the problem is sporatic, it might be a loose ground wire or the switch like the other guy said. if it were the stator the lights wouldnt work at all or they would be constantly very dim.

im no expert on jetting but i would try putting the needle back where it was and im not sure but i think the starting point with the mix screws is 2.5 turns out from seated -
dude ur nuts it doesnt take a crazy bike to climb silts. it takes balls and rider experience. its just plain silly to build a bike specificly for 1 spot especially if ur not winning any money. ive never been to coal hill b4 but im guessing its like the rest of pennsylvania riding terrian a shitload of tight wooded rocky muddytrails surrounding a square 1/2 mile of coal dumps. ur not gunna be happy trying to ride that thing on the trails after you get bored of going up hills 2 hrs after you get there.

i got the g force also. i like it for these reasons: 1 its cheap 2 all stock parts work with it 3 its adjustable width 4 it looks good 5 comes with all the new hardware you need for it

what do you mean by the only way to do it right. its fukin polishing as long as it comes out shiny you did it right. i personally prefer using a rag and polishing compound then polishing cream then wax and i do just as nice if not better than a cotton wheel. as long as you polish it good once and keep up on it there is no need to waste ur time tearing ur bike apart and messing up ur garage every time it dulls out

just get wheel spacers or a arms. no need to fuck with a perfectlty functional rim. plus that will probably put the wheel out of balance and possibly cause a shake

thats weird ive bought stuff off this guy b4 too and the prices were really cheap. ive gotten a complete seat with brand new cover off him for 5 bucks and a set of trail tech lights in really good shape for like 17 bucks. i guess times are tough and he has to raise his prices lol

the lines should be the same all the way from 87 to 06. i have a master cylinder from an 01 raptor on my 88 banshee and it bolted right up and didnt leak. the ends of all the lines should be the same the shape of the pads and i would imagine the shape of the caliper changed but thats probably about it

yea i agree DO NOT use a 3 jaw puller it totally ruin ur flywheel beleive me ive done it b4. it pulled the outside of it a 1/2 inch out from the center b4 i noticed. lol i was watching the crank and didnt see that it was bending the fuck out of the flywheel. and it still didnt pull it off the crank -
i was wondering if toomey silencers will somehow work with fmf gnarly pipes without a whole shitload of work. i like the way toomey silencers sound and look and i also like the way my bike is so easy to ride on trails with the gnarly pipes. i would like to combine the 2 to make 1 kickass exhaust that looks like it was ment to be that way.
