hi nick, welcome to the hq  i'm from anchorage, and have a friend on here that should have some shocks and stuff for you, and maybey a new engine too. yah that loop is more than likely bent back from a rollover. you should do at least pippes, and look online for a sprockett/chain combo. probably just give jeff a call @ fast for that, plus some proper jetts (verry important) come up with a list of what you need, and should be able to get it locally, just gotta track it down, cus dealers don't carry shit for the banshee. -
where you mount it?

what is your jetting?

Won't start when cold...Need some advice
AKheathen replied to razorbackbanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
how cold is it? when it gets below 20, i have to heat my pipes, plugs, and carbs and then it fires with the choke pulled, about 5-10 kicks. you don't wanna know the issues when it's below zero. i just throw it under a tarp with a heater 30 min before i stert it now. if it's pullin fuel, heat the pipes with a torch and it should fire. what mods, elevation, and main jets do you have. if you're still on pump gas, you can get the additive for the 927 -
i also run 1 psi. makes a difference. i heard the vampires are pretty heavy
-
that screwdriver will work, just have to rest it on the other carb next to the boot, and the3 fuel line should move easily out of the way. there is kind of an area of adjustment, where it won't seem to change, but when you get it to the right spot, you will notice it. when it's the highest on both, rev it a couple of times and/ or ride a min, then let it idle 30 sec and tweak it a little, allowing the engine to adjust. thanx dave for bringing that point up today. you still need to get in there and clean them. it's not a big deal, and i'm sure you have the time to do it. you can get a better look at how they work too. just don't force anything, and do one at a time, and they'll go like butter.

was probably only mad that he couldn't break it in lol

i've always wanted to do a ruff ryders thing once, just to do it. on like a raptor though
-
check the pickup gap on both nodes, sounds like you're sayin you took it off right? give it a shake and see if anything rattles. should be solid.
-
yah, they are cheap, like 6 bucks ea.
-
visually check them to see if they're worn. a little gap is ok, but not alot
-
where u get adapters for rims?
-
hahahahaha... u still taste denim? i got some.... just got finished putting my white pipes on, and loaded up the next day to go riddin. got all the way out there, and the wind chilled the engine to the core to ambient temp(17 below) wouldn't start, of course. after spending 45 min jump starting my friends' quad, spent 45 min trying to get the clutch to release, pull start, etc. finally, started in 6th, and worked my way down in gears untill i got neutral, and let it warm up. geared up, and headed down the trails, runnin awesome at first, then a little funny. stopped, and shee begain screamin like i left the toilet seat up, or something. tried a little love with the switch, but kept goin :: grabbed her by the clutch and begain kickin her in the shifter about 5 times. stomped her in the brake, and let go her go. nice and quiet after that. turns out, oh shit, i forgot to tighten the intake clamp :shoothead: i apologised, while kicking her once more, and she let me ride for like an hour and a half, moaning with pleasure the whole way. it came time to take her out to eat, and grabbed the gas can. oh shit, cant find the oil anywhere....hunny, i left my wallet at home  had to grab her ass and shove it up there. then tie her down to the deck so shee wouldn't go anywhere. what can i say? we have a passionate, loving relationship. dear penthouse... another one, my friend just got his 650 ds, a couple of weeks ago, and helped him get it running over the phone. turns out, someone soldered the all the wires on the new cdi, before he got it. would've been fine, but they left them ALL uninsulated, just shorting in a bunch. he got it with the pretence that it just needed a stator, and it came with one, but new cdi, ect, and she's runnin. threw it up in the driveway, and it took off right to the back of his 50k tahoe. oh shit, back window,, rip in seat, but could've been worse. talkin to him on the phone, he started it in gear, and it launched into the back of his brothers' 69 cougar. oh shit! fuck this thing's gonna kill me, isn't it?

deferior? you mean inferior, or superior? i think deferior would mean, if it were a word, to make you deffer the subjet when it's mentioned. i think you should look for pipes in the for sale section, if your worried about the price. about once a week, or so, pipes show up cheap as hell. <== to answer your question don't mean to give you so much shit
-
maybey it changed over the years. mines a 97. i could be wrong  does anyone else know for sure? :ermm:
-
btw, it says "GET THE FUCK OUT!"
-
pipes are soooooooooooooo worth it!!!! and then begains the addiction to keep your mouth pinned to your ear lobes  :woot:  :woot:

i think i saw thoes at schucks for 100 ea. on sale. would have to do a dc conversion to run them

New Mods, loss of all low end power
AKheathen replied to JasonsBanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
i had to go30's with stock reeds and head @20 to -20. -
in the performance section @ checker/schucks/kregan. i don't think you want white. if you get grease or fuel on them before they're cured, you're screwed. you should pick a color that matches your scheme better, and hides smudges too. be carefull, it's verry runny, like water. spray thin layers. 1 can was just barely enough, but i wanted another coat. if you do pick white, be verry tennative about installing them/working around them, untill you have got a couple hours ride beyond the final cure. yah, this stuff is particular in aplication, but when done right, yeilds awesome results, imo

i'm kinda in a hurry to get to work and don't wanna give fucked up advise, but i would wire a tail light bulb from your car or truck strait to the wires to rule out the tail light as the issue. this doesn't show the brake wires, but should help
-
that's wierd, just 2 regular bulbs right? what's it off of? are you sure you got the ground right? if it grounds inside the housing to the mount somehow, then it would short the power, but then it wouldn't work either. anything done to your headliight wiring?

should I ditch the toomey needles?
