  2. it says ported head, common mistake. but duals would be way overkill, and even on the large side with a single setup.
  3. think i wasted half an hour on this, and missing some comments :shoothead:
  4. ok, dug 'em out. kinda rough, but i have 4 sets for practice, and on's half finished. i was doing low end on stock pedals
  5. +7 is ok with a stock head, but +4 for higher compression on pump gas. +4 seems to be the majic # for most people.
  6. are your springs cut? i couldn't imagine that the stockers could weaken that much without heat on a 2000, but i could be wrong. i havn't had a problem screwing them on hand tight,so the tops don't move, then locking the retainers. if you can't get the locknut, maybey you could try a small amount of blue rtv on the threads
  7. gonna have to tear into it again and make sure the fork is moving it in and out of gear right, imo
  8. COMPRESSION. it should be a ptr powerhead, so find out what domes it has, your elevation and temp, and what compression in each side. if you can get it running, make sure all the gears are solid and shift good. check the frame for cracks. those are the only big time/money problems i can think of, though it may need suspension/axle work if it hasn't been done recently.
  9. honestly, stock, tors removed, 220mains, would be the most reliable and forgiving, imo. the question here, is where do you want the power, and how much do you have to spend on it; all at once, or peiced over years.
  10. with the size of your domes, i'm guessin that you are somwhere above 1000ft asl. around 30-50 degrees? you should be between 290- 320 mains, a fatter needle will help with the airbox mod, you may need 27.5 pilot jetts. your elevation and temp will help to get you closer
  11. it makes a small difference, but the biggest gain is in conjunction with the right pedal choice. stiffer pedals and longer angles for high rpm, and softer with a steeper slope to help push the petals open at lower rpm. hogging it twards the retainer helps them move faster. it's not a major power mod, but is a great project to get experience on, and i'll work on pics after dinner
  12. you will have to have the chambers measured. i have heard that they vary from head to head, so, just get them to 21cc, if you are at sea level. they should be able to do it at the shop, and make sure they aren't using a belt planer to take much more than a surface plane. i like the look of a mill cut too, personally.
  13. unplug your tors box under the gas tank, across from the coil. little 3wire plug. then, set your airscrews at 2 turns out, and see if it starts and idles. stock jets will blow the motor
  14. no kiddin, i posted a question at the same time, and only got 1 view in an hour :yelrotflmao: it's like a new chick showing up at a construction camp. lol
  15. yah, i have a 95, and the bed is bigger than the trailer i use
  16. why'd a hot chick join the same time i ask a question? :yelrotflmao: only 1 view in an hour ::
  17. do you know what size domes it has? i'd imagine that the compression should be at least 115psi @1000 ft with 22cc domes. jetting around 310 mains, and 27.5 pilot 50 degrees. have you tried new plugs?
  18. welcome to the family
  19. my friends' can-am won't stay in gear upshifting. i'm hoping i can adjust the shifter, or the easiest way to spit the cases, hopefully without pulling the jugg completely. goes into first, and works great, but it's all up gears, so i don't think it's the fork. if anyone knows about the can-am tranny, or where i can find out, i'd really appreciate it, before we tear in.
  20. is your spacer worn down?
  21. i have an acre & 1/4, plus 2 open next door. before 9pm, they can leagaly fuck off. after that, grabbing gears to my friend's house, because i'm surrounded by yuppies that are pissed offf because they chose to pay 3-500k for a crackerjack box that they don't actually own.
  22. Check the choke plunger for leaks, and try going 1 knotch leaner on the needles. While you're in there, make sure the holes are uncovered in the slides.
  23. it's low beam power. x2 on yellow/red
  24. wow, this thread is almost 2 yrs old
  25. x2 on jetting, and i wouldn't use the stock springs on the bottom
