  1. holy crap that is a long description. Everyplace I have ridden, people don't seem to know the difference between a $2000 and a $10000 banshee. Would never come running. Mike
  2. the only downside is that now I know how hot my engine has gotten in the trails, and it keeps me up at night sometimes.
  3. Ummm... I think they are 5k ohms
  4. I will give some input on DG in the spring. I have them now and they pull pretty well down low with a 4 mil. I just got some fatties to try, so if everyone is right, I should see some more power. If not, I will post. the charts of what a pipe does to a stock motor are likely irrelevant to how they effect a built up motor. Mike
  5. Exhaust still in the dome would explain it. And yes I want to bang Britney. Of course I still wanted to when she was chubby and unpopular. So does
  6. Oh, I am not arguing the need for compression to run and produce power. (much less move a banshee) My question was why the spark doesn't start the fuel burning at BDC when the the jug should have completed the intake period. Hold one spark plug outside the cylinder and and see if it doesn't ignite the fuel/air coming out of the spark plug hole without any compression (can't do it with a banshee though). Static or slow moving fuel/air mixture will definitely burn without compression. As for the comment about Diesel, besides the fact that it is a different process all together, compression creates heat. No spark plug needed because diesel is much higher compression. Enough that the heat generated by the compression causes the fuel burn to begin. and fuel burns.. not explode... not in a properly functioning engine. (I believe gas exploding is considered detonation)
  7. bansheefreak: that makes no sense. locogato11283: I realize there is no compression, but that is not necessary for fuel to burn. Maybe the spark is ineffective to ignite with so much flow going past the plug...
  8. OK, I'll be the dumb guy... How does that work? When the piston is at the bottom, the cylinder should be full of fuel/air right? and the spark plug fires there too. Why doesn't the burn start then?
  9. i totally forgot about something i have to do tomorrow . cant go
  10. I am about 60% on coming... I wonder if I can get a friend to come to ride my second Quad. Most people have left town. It is missing the air bleed screw, but seems to be running OK. Mike
  11. Damn that's tempting. I just got another quad too I need to try out. Mike
  12. I am not sure what is more disappointing... the upcoming destruction of that much weed, or that this thread didn't turn out to be about boobs
  13. As for RPM: my trailtech keeps peak. I think the powerband is over on my quad after about 9700, but I have peaked out over 10,700. (a worthless place to be)
  14. Is the calculator off, or are your tires a different size at top speed?
  15. not sure how to validate it, but the peak number looks correct and power band starts at about the right RPM, and the idle sounds accurate. This, of course is after you set it to 2 pulses per revolution.
  16. Ditto. I can't see spending $70 for a gauge placed somewhere I can not read when I can get all the stuff the trailtech does for $100. Here is a crappy screenshot using the mounting hardware that came with it.
  17. You can still get adjustable power bands here You can get radiator insulators too.
  18. Not that low... maybe 3500 or 4000 rpm. It is a stroker so I am not killing it at too low of rpm. I am not sure if it happens if I only use half throttle (probably not). It just happens at times it is kinda inconvenient to downshift and I figure I can throttle it into the powerband. I have PWK carbs. there is no TORS.
  19. I may be slightly rich on the jetting, but not horribly. It seems like I have troubles where, if I don't down shift to get the RPM up and just give lots of throttle, the engine sometimes starts missing and running like crap. As soon as I drop a gear or pull the clutch, it clears and everything is fine. Is this fouling plugs? is this an indication that my carb setup is worse than I thought or something?
  20. I have read some threads and websites about how to do it, and what the quality of the result is. I am interested in knowing how the Blue colored duplicolor high heat paint looks with a blue banshee. Is the color mismatch annoying, or is it close enough? Mike
  21. I am going to try some different pipes. They are currently painted black, and I might repaint them. Has anyone tried the Duplicolor Blue High temp paint on a blue banshee? I am curious how it turns out before I start painting.
  22. As long as we are talking alternate 2 stroke tech, you don't have to burn oil in a 2-stroke. You can have a standard wet sump, but require a supercharger. There were some Diesel direct injection 2-stroke engines with a wet sump.
  23. does anyone know if DG Silences will fit with FMF Gold series pipes?
  24. 64mm carb.... is that 2 32mm carbs?
