It ran good?

The squish is good Im running a stock head without any spacers, the piston goes up into the head. Havent heard anything but with the drag pipes with stingers you can't hear much. Havent had to buy cases yet just welded the holes and trenched again. As far as I know every builder here cuts windows. I agree the windows dont help the fact im breaking the piston but I dont think its the culprit, my builder has built 4 of the stock cylinder 7 mils and not 1 has done this. Not trying to argue with anyone just looking for ideas. What about over revving? The last time this bike ran I was at the dunes running the hill and couldnt keep the back tires on the groud through the whoops.

Top of the piston looks fine I will get a pic when I get home. Never backed out any plugs, mic'ed the sleeve and its loose like .006 the new piston rocks in it. Going to get it bored today. I know im pushing the limits of this motor, but I like the fact it does good against the cubs. I guess I need to check more often to see if the skirts are colapsing. Are you guys not cutting windows in your pistons at all? Here is a pic of the new piston

The windows are opened up but not where they are breaking, the bottom is the stock window for a blaster. This time i was warming it up in the garage to do a oil change. I havent check the sleeve yet.

This is the second time I've broke the bottom off the right piston. Both times it broke at the bottom corner of the windows then the pieces punch through the cases. Its the 7 mil in the signature the only thing not listed is it blaster pistons. Any ideas would help

Thats what I'll try 15-43 and have a set of 14 paddles I'll put on. Its way to rough to have a wheelie bar where we ride. Thanks anyone else have an opinion

The bike is the 7 mil in the signature. Im currently running 16-43 and we race 300 to 500 ft and I'm only getting about half way through 4th gear. Any ideas it launches hard usually have to let out to keep the front down.

Your best bet is a stock stator if your going to run lights. PVL if your not ricky stator suck for alky

I have the same problem. Some stock stators wont run alky. I put another stator on it from my 350 and it fixed it. Switched them back and it doesnt fire on one side.

I have a set of like new toomey t5's. No dent or dings not even a scratch, left cylinder has a little blueing, $400 plus the ride.

Thats what I was thinking, ya im way too lazy to clean around the cylinders. Or even clean it period, I usaully clean right before we leave to go race so it sits dirty for a couple of weeks. Hell its still dirty from the dune trip Halloween weekend.

Just got a set of CPI small bore small flange left side raw pipes. Cant wait to put them on, love the raw look. But all the pipes I see out there start getting that rusty look. Any tips on keeping rust free.

IMO the quickest and cheapest is a timing plate set at +6. Ricky stator makes one for around $45. Mill the head for like $50 way cheaper and more reliable than a cool head. Race gas. And gearing, dont know what you have and what you weigh but I would start around 15 front 42 rear. You could do all of this for around $150.
