  1. Holy crap, I thought this was dead. I agree with you, the cops in your city must be dumb shits. I am very familiar with VA law, and know it inside and out. Why? Because I've studied Virginia law, and went to criminal justice school. Most all state laws allow ATV's to either cross streets/highways, and some allow you to ride along the side of the street. Here in VA, you are allowed to travel along the side of streets, as long as you don't travel more than 1 mile from trail to trail, or you are emergency personnel responding to an emergency. Appearantly the cops in your town are fuckin stupid, or they're rookies that just don't know any better and want to fuck with the ATV riders. Just because a cop has a badge and gun, doesn't allow him to stop whoever he wants. If a cop stops you for something that's not illegal, talk to their internal affairs. That is a violation of a person's 4th Amendment, and you can sue your ass off for it.
  2. Didn't even think about that. Very true. Wheel or axle bearing, or stuck brake/e-brake could be holding your bike back.
  3. For some reason, nobody on here believes me when I say that the Maxxis iRazr's are bad ass. They are 6-ply, and hold up very well in the woods. They also bite their ass off. People on here say, "Well, the wear out fast". Bullshit. I've had mine for about 9 months, and ride very arrgessive trail. I would say that they're around 85% tread. Best woods tire that I've had, hands down.
  4. If you're gonna be working on your own stuff, get a set of feeler guages. They're like $5 from Advance Auto for a full set.
  5. That's too funny. I've never seen that before.
  6. Gap between the flywheel trigger and pickup.
  7. Does it lunge forward or creep when it's running and you put it in gear? If it does, then your clutch probably still isn't adjusted right. If not, I wouldn't stress over it. Roll it in neutral, not in gear with the clutch pulled. Is it a new clutch? Remember, it's a wet clutch. It has to be spinning in the oil to work right.
  8. That would be bansh-eman. Not completely true. I had mine set at 1000ish. Took throttle very good too. Very crisp.
  9. DAMN! How the hell did the left cylinder get down that low? I'm guessing hole in the piston.
  10. I just don't think it would be a good idea to ride something with an exposed radiator, like a Banshee, through that stuff. I think you'd be setting yourself up for disaster. Are there any other people that go to that race on a Banshee?
  11. I just weighed mine last night with my digital fish scale. 43 pounds, 11 ounces. EDIT: That's with all the unneccessary mounting tabs cut off. And thy're only about 1 pound, at most.
  12. Yea, take a fan cooled bike, with a louvered grill. That's some muddy shit right there.
  13. That's a typical 2-stroke. Not a 2 cylinder Banshee engine, with 2 triggers. That one doesn't fire on bottom. But yes, basically that's it.
  14. drill a hole in your pistons, and see if it runs. same concept. no compression=no combustion.
  15. I would leave the timing where it is. Like AK asked, what's the jetting? Is it bogging? Falling on it's face? What exactly is happening? BTW, where you at in carolina? Anywhere near the VA border?
  16. Sometimes the bushings will get a groove cut in them. A 2x4 and hammer should get it out. Maybe get a socond person kinda wiggling it around while you're hitting it.
  17. If you have 'em, use 'em. Ain't gonna hurt anything. Just helps get rid of interference. It's kinda like using the antenna as a ground for your car radio. It works, but sometimes you might get some engine noise in your speakers.
  18. pretty sure that you have to have about 6" total to make them clear the fenders good. You prolly could fit them with 4", but they'll rub. I take it you have the newer style S-10, not the old box style.
  19. Didn't notice that you left the "R" out of the first post. Use the BR's.
  20. they go in 1987-2009
  21. Prolly a little less than that. I'm at sea level, and I have 18cc's on a fresh motor with 185psi. I don't know exactly what my squish is, but the piston goes up into the head 2mm's, due to the +4 crank. If it were fresh, I woulg guess somewhere around 170-175ish.
  22. I'm going with old gas, and carbs need a bath.
  23. I'm not trying to be an asshole. I'm just saying that alot of people lately have been asking, "what oil should I use?", or "what ratio should I mix?". Alot of people say Klotz, then some say Amsoil, and then there's Castor927, or Yamalube, and the list goes on. Then you got people sayin 25:1, or 32:1, and 40:1, 50:1, and I've even seen 100:1. Really, the best thing to do is see what your bike likes. Personally, I use Maxima SuperM synthetic blend at 40:1. I don't think anyone else on here uses that oil. But, I tried it and I like it. Just try the Amsoil, and see how you like it. Really, I would say whatever you use, get either a esther, blend, or full synthetic.
  24. Yes, grim is right. It fires on the top and bottom. So, it doesn't matter what wire goes where. It's just easier for the longer one to go to the farthest cylinder. Which is, closest to the motor goes to the left cylinder, when you're sitting on it.
  25. The one closest to the engine goes to the left cylinder.
