anyone know of the cheapest place to buy the pro design impeller??? i looked at F.A.S.T. racing and they have it for 79.95$ and im sure more for shipping. but i found one on ebay for only 69.75$ plus shipping which is 7.00$ so that would only be around 75 bucks -

mann i drained he coolant and oil but i thoughtit would be easier then my yfz450... when i had to replace the shaft and all o-rings i had to take EVERYTHING off... foot peg brake, lever, whole clutch cover, actualy pump cover. It sounds like the same concept pretty much just thought it would be easier since it's a shee but guess not... Thanks for all the help guys really appreciate it. Will keep you guys informed on how it went -
wow those look great. i didn't put a clear coaton mine because i think it matched my plastics better

I have made a earlier post on what to do to make my bike run cooler... 1. Change my grill (it blocks a good 90% of the air flow) 2. Check my jetting.... 3 check impeller shaft. 4. Run engine ice... well for number one i Am going to get a new grill anyways. for number 2 i just took out my spark plugs today and they have a nice tanish brownish color... there not white at all and there not that black but they look prerfect to me but i could be wrong. If you want me to post pics i maybe can later... For number 3 I am planning on checkin my stock impeller shaft to make sure it is not melted ad replacing it with a pro design impeller. I have a few quetions. To check the impeller shaft do you have to split th cases? I really have no clue how to do it. any help on how to remove it would be helpful. number 4 about the engine ice i dont know if it cools the bike own for sure but ill be running it anyways...

I went to go take a look at my stock axle because I need to remove it to put on this new durablue axle I got for dirt cheap. I don't even know where to start? Any tips are greatly appreciated and any tools you think I will need. Also any parts I need to replace while it's apart Thanks, Steven

now tell us step by step how you painted those plastics!! they look real good. clean loooking pipes also good work man
-
where can you buy the gun/dupont products?? any particular hardware store??
-
and if that ever happens... just throw on another coat.... that's what i like about it. We all know 4$ spray paint is not gonna hold up like powdercoating obviously but this could be a temporary choice for those wanting to get some pc'd beadlocks or something or it can be a permanent choice
-
so how do you paint plastic bumpers on cars?
-
i will hopefully have pics up in a couple of weeks. Their are going to be put on the bike in my sig. I think it will look good/

Hey everyone I thought I'd do a quick write-up on how I painted my Douglas rims. Well as all of you know powdercoating isn't cheap so I decided to spray paint em. I went to my local autoparts store and picked up some wet 300 grit sandpaper, 1 can of Dupli-color aluminum sandable primer, 2 cans of Dupli-color flatblack acrylic enamel, and some acetone. I ebelieve everything cost me around 20.00$ (I already had some acetone laying around the house) First of all i got my palm sander and starting to sand the heck out of my rims. I also did the hard to get areas by hand. Sanding is the key to painting. If you go and ask any painter they will tell you with the proper prep work you get the best results. Anyways once you have spent time on sanding the rims I cleaned them up with some acetone. Next I didn't feel like having my tires dismounted then remounted again after i was done so I got some masking tape and some paper and taped off my tires. Once everything was ready to go I started spraying. I did 2 coats of primer waiting 20 minutes before each recoat (the can says it dries in ten minutes). Then I sprayed the black on. I sprayed a total of 3-5 coats I don't remember how much exactly but atleast do three. Also make sure you wait atleast an hour and a half to two hours before recoating. And that's pretty much it. If you do not give time for the paint to stick you will end up doing it again as the paint will just peel off. Hope this helps anyone who doesn't have the money to get them powdercoated ,Steven The first two pics are of them primered, and the next three pics are when they are all done.

How did you get to spray the pipes on the inward area (where they are facing the motor) and also did you put paper over the whole bike to protect it from getting painted???
-
I really like the color scheme... did you paint them yourself? or have someone else do it? And if you painted them yourself mind tellis us how you did it? thanks, steven
