  1. $200 + shipping for the works shocks?
  2. Are these still for sale?
  3. Take the motor back out and sand/grind the paint off. That is obviously what caused this. I can't think of anything else right off the bat. It's does sound like a fuel delivery prob tho.
  4. Then don't waste your time replying with xtra bullshit. I guess I did help to answer your question, though, albeit by sarcasm from me (and other members): find a new "shop". You're welcome  If it bogs down after 1/4 throttle it's most likely a fuel delivery problem...like when you run out of gas. The fact that it has a boost bottle tells me a lot though. What size main jets are in it? What needle clip? If you actually want to do it yourself now, that would be my first step.
  5. Take off the TORS system.
  6. Unless he has a 20 tooth front sprocket and a 30 tooth in the back along with a 2 mile downhill stretch with the wind at his back! $400? A can of carb cleaner= $4. I bet they used 12 sprays. New needles= $20 + or - Screwdriver= .79, but I bet they already had that back in there shop somewhere. 1 hour of labor at most, bro, including downing a couple of beers on you while doing the job.
  7. Did you check for this? It's pretty easy for them to get hung up. Also, it sounds like it's running way too lean on the pilots. I'm no expert, but that's what it sounds like.
  8. BTW I hope it's not this issue!!! LOL
  9. I checked the slides and the air screws...I don't trust my carbs. I need a carb sync tool I guess for checking the vacuum pressure...or just get new carbs. My prob is I want to get a port job, and will need bigger carbs after that. I'm tired of these things I have though.
  10. I run them and I must say it was the worst price for gain ratio of any other mod I've done (which are all bolt-ons). But at least they are there for when I do something else...
  11. Elevation is how high up in the air you are LOL! How many feet above sea level are you? You are way too rich.
  12. That is such an awesome question! It's so good that I'll let the masters answer, and I'll read them thoroughly. Seriously, I'd like to know. I've always wondered. Banshee jetting is so tricky. They'll run on jetting that's way off, but when they are on it's amazing what the difference is. Way more so than any 4 stroke I've ridden (including my YFZ)
  13. The trip to Winchester Bay and Florence, OR this weekend was a blast. My shee ran better than ever since I've had it...but my left (driver's side) cylinder was spewing more smoke than the right side out of the silencers... I assume it's a fuel mixture issue? Or is there a common issue that happens that I don't know about. Any ideas? Thanks!
  14. I'll always recommend CPI's and they will run in the trails, but not as good as T-5s. But on the straight run, they are (arguably) the best.
  15. I've had the same issue...along with what these guys have said, you are too rich. If you are spitting out oil, especially at 50:1, then you are too rich. Get your jetting right and you will be fine. I've read through your original post twice, and think you are in the fine tuning area. Once you get that going you will not be spewing out anything.
  16. Michael Jackson says to "use a little lube"... Classic. At least he's talking to an adult (as far as we know) Anyways, he's right...as usual.
  17. The CPI's are the best for dragging...and they will work for casual riding...don't expect to win a trail riding race with them, but your bike will run through the trails just fine.
  18. You could always go riding, find another Banshee rider and offer a straight-up trade! That would be quite mean though
  19. Going back to the original post, I have an 06 YFZ and an 06 Banshee. In my group of friends, we have 4 more YFZs, a 450r, a KFX 450, and a 660 Raptor. My YFZ has a full system exhaust, Fuel Customs intake/filter, cam mod, 6 paddle xtremes, suspension adjusted properly, and proper jetting. You can check out my mods in my profile, and you can see they are all bolt ons. My banshee is noticably faster, and my friends have basically the same mods on their YFZs. I beat them every time...same story as usual...they get me off the line, but within about 40 yds I am passing them. The YFZ is a fun quad, though. I am keeping it so I have something fun to ride when not flying up hills. I want to build up the banshee eventually...hopefully next year...but until then, it is fast enough to beat any bolt on modded 450 out there. With that said, I'm assuming that stock for stock, 450 will win. But mod for mod...it seems that after pipes, filters, the banshee starts taking over. There are more bolt on parts for the shee, plus limitless once you tear into them.
  20. Thanks for all the tips. After reading, I think it was detonating. The reason: I went to the coast with a full tank of gas. It was not mixed with race gas. That is when the plug popped out. I filled it up with my race gas mix, and then the plug stopped popping out. Either that, or it was loose. With that said, do you guys think I did any damage? Also, running 40:1 or 44:1 will not hurt my machine? And, what is squish?
  21. Possibly, however I'm running about 165 psi in the cylinders, +4 timing, and 1/2 92, 1/2 112 octane. It didn't pop out once I tightened it again, however, I tightened it more than I would like to. I think I'll put some never-sieze on them to help deal with the vibrations. I think that problem is "fixed", but I'm wondering if I should go to 40:1 mixture on my gas/oil ratio. I used Techron oil. Is that not good enough?
  22. Well I took my new banshee on it's first run last weekend at Winchester Bay, OR. The first day was great. No probs but some jetting issues. Still working on those. The second day, I was riding along and my quad bogged down and died. I switched it to reserve cuz I thought I was out of gas. It barely ran. I killed it (by letting off the throttle LOL) and saw my plug dangling on the plug wire. I put her back in and was fine. There were no damaged threads at all, not even a little bit. Does this mean anything besides a plug that wasn't in tight enough??? The third day, I let my buddy ride it. He made it about 300 feet before it died. Long story short, we towed it back to camp, and started going through the steps. Had gas, new plugs, no spark. No pinched wires, so pulled off the flywheel cover, and the nut almost fell off the shaft, while the flywheel freely pulled off. Cleaned it up, put it all back together. Kicked over on the first kick. Should I use locktite or never-seize on the flywheel nut??? Also, I mixed 32:1. It seemed to make a mess all over. It was dripping out of the exhaust, and spraying a little bit where the CPIs mount to the stingers. Should I be mixing it that rich, or go to something else???
  23. I don't usually ride with them on...
  24. Thanks guys. I went with the 32mm to keep faithful to the metric system. Worked like a charm (with my son standing on the rear brake lever).
