  1. Well for starters K&N filters are a cloth type gauze not pap...........nevermind. You got this. Enjoy.
  2. And if a piston came with the cylinder as a kit....the the piston fits fine. If the piston came with a ring....then the ring fits fine. Spark plugs are gapped perfect right out of the box. The jetting on the bike you just bought must be fine because it worked for the last guy. ......and she said she can't get pregnant cause she's on the pill. All things you hear about not needing to worry abour or check....
  3. You got that backwards. .....but maybe 4:20 is kicking in a little early today. LOL
  4. Just get a Raptor 700. Do the "Big 6" mods. Join RaptorHQ.
  5. If I was blasting in the fine coal dust you would find me running foam filters too.
  6. Your foam pods are sponges. Great filters for fine dust....not so hot for water. If your going to run a pod configuration switch the the K&N filters. I don't know of anyone running foam with Outerwear's I think the foam oil will just goober up the Outerwear's.
  7. Your uncle might be running a 12-13 front sprocket.....
  8. Eventually they chip and look like crap.
  9. You planned a trail ride...then instead decided to play submarine with a Polaris and share cropper with the rest of the machines and the only one that survived was ridden by a chick? Please leave your Man Card at the nearest Michigan government facility. So ........I picturing someone's mother asking "If your friends decide to blindly rip thru the remains of a house foundation on 4 wheelers....are you going to follow?" Apparently YES. This^^^
  10. Yeah I was going to get the Black in April....but it got put on back order since they had stopped production to work out some problems. Apparently they have been re-released or are soon to be.... Kinda gun-shy on making a move on one now till I hear some more recent reviews.
  11. CPI pipes tend to favor higher port timings and higher compression than the Shearers in most of the bigger bore cylinders like the Cub and Serval. Overall combo maters when it comes to finding the sweet spot for a pipe choice. But so far I haven't seen many examples of a better pipe choice for a Serval than the SB In-Frame Shearers. The Nate McCoy quote that the OP posted does a decent job of explaining why the drag pipes work on a lower RPM design like the Serval.
  12. Closed box is safest, but even mild mods are hindered by a closed box. As for a Pods being worse than the CFM box.....No. Pods shed water like off a ducks back. If you splash them hard the motor can die.....but a few minutes later you can kick it over fine. With K&N filters and Outerwear's, even if they get wet, they aren't going to protect the motor. The CFM box is just a bathtub with filters in it. It kills power on higher modded bikes and really does more harm than good as a n air box. I rode the entire length of the river at The Badlands in Indiana with Pods and Outerwear's. Try that with a CFM box and you will be cleaning carbs and rebuilding top ends like the OP.
  13. Anyone have the black edition? I know they pulled them off the market for a while to fix some gremlins. But the new release is supposed to be out now. I was waiting to get the newer version and get some updated reviews......
  14. Those CFM airboxes are turrible. Water fills them up like a swiming pool and the filters sit in the water while it slowly drains out. Doesn't help that the intake tubes pitch towards the motor, so once the filters are in the water they suck all the dirty water thru them as well as rinsing the filters of all their dirt. Then that cocktail of crap gets pulled thru the carbs and motor. Also 2-stroke mix is not the same as filter oil. So once you started riding, it doesn't take long for the oil to run out and off of the filter. Then you "dust your motor" from pulling unfiltered air thru it. Ditch that airbox (it hinders power as well) Just run twin pod filters and outterwears.
  15. Belongs in the "Tanned and Jacked " thread.
  16. ^^^^ X2 And a little blue loctite on there before you mount the flywheel works great. I made a tool using an old flywheel puller so I can slowly spin a flywheel on the crank to lap it perfectly using my 28v dewalt drill. Work it till you have a nice matching frosted finish on both the crank and flywheel. Detonation can cause flywheels to spin on the crank and "Take the key for a ride" But I doubt that was an issue on a simple warm-up.
  17. They sold for a loss. Must have listed 73's at 68 pricing.....
  18. You don't want to run BB CPI's on that motor. I tried that on mine......SB Shearers made 14 more HP and matching low end torque! CPI's are still sitting in a corner. Too nice to sell, but I don't have anything they would work well with. So I keep them around for dyno testing....
  19. If you have nuts coming loose.....sounds like it's time to check everything a second time.
  20. Did you check the piston to cylinder wall clearances top, mid and bottom? I had a cylinder with seizure tight clearances as the piston got to the bottom. Luckily I caught it on assembly. (Trinity doesn't do quality control inspections on the bores.)
  21. Go with the 4's. When you do....go one size pilot larger. Enjoy.
  22. I don' t remember.....was yours a Trinity kit?
  23. Well that's not true.....CPI's are a very nice pipe if your motor is set up for them. But if your buying a set of pipes off of rumor your going to end up making a poor choice. CPI's (as well as Shearers and others) like a certain style of build. You have to know the details of your build to know what pipe will work best for your motor.
  24. I've got TWO and they are both working awesome! Way lower price than getting a new OEM and light years better than the lousy choices we've had in the aftetmarket all these years.
  25. Once in a while your funny...... I'll admit today is one of those times. Take $10 out of petty cash and go buy yourself something frilly as a treat.
