I keep this in my favorites. Comes in handy when talking terms and understanding the "How's" and "Why's". http://www.keihin-us.com/am/_media/pdf/slide_valve.pdf

I'm running on the sand in Silver Lake Michigan with my 472 4mill power valved cheetah with 35PWK carbs and CPI Big Bore In-Frames. I'm running a CEL needle 50 pilots with a 148/145 mains. I'm going fully ported this year so that jetting will change. That jetting last year was all about NOT having problems. Trinity sends out crap combo's. They have no clue about dome shape. They only understand that "Less cc's in the dome = More compression" I've met alot of people who had problems with the dome shape that Trinity sent. If you continue to have issues with this motor, be sure to get some custom cut domes from a top builder. I'd recommend Tim at TITAN RACING. He solved all the problems I had with my Trinity motor with a simple dome change.
-
If your fairly stock, with just some simple bolt-on's you should be fine. Most run a 35PWK. I'm running a 36PWK on a 370 longrod motor with the GRAYDON style 2 into 1. (I don't like the Trinity model) We've got a 75 HP bike in our group that's got no problems running a 35PWK on a GRAYDON. He's running a 50 pilot and a 178 main. He's racing my other buddies un-ported 421 cub that has 2-35PWK'S and he's only about 2-3 bikes back. That's saying something for a guy with next to nothing in his motor. The 2 into 1's get a bad rap, but most guys who bash then have never run them. I pulled a set of Mikuni 28's off that 370 long rod motor and switched to the 36PWK on a GRAYDON intake. I'd feel fine running a good 2 into 1 on everything up to an un-ported 421 cub. Beyond that you need the airflow of the dual carb, only because with a carb big enough for wide open throttle, you will get crappy bottom end.

I'll take a guess...I'm betting he's got a bad bog on launch........ (Former Trinity victim - Waiting to help with whatever info I can)

Graydon Style Intake Kit
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to THE358BANSH's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Wish you listed it sooner! I've been looking for a setup like that for about 6 months. I just found and bought a Graydon intake, 36PWK carb, cable and that same big K&N (no outer wear) on ebay for $180. Someone should want this. I'll tell you this, That style 2 into 1 kicks the Trinity styles ASS. That will run GREAT on everything all the way thru a 4 mill cub. Especially if that 39 is on a bigger motor like a 421. Good Luck. -
I was going to go with "Harm's Way" but I like that "Watch for Roost"....
-
"partsdepot" on Ebay is Trinity's new online sales site. You'll be getting Trinity gear. They know NOTHING about dome design! (Well if you want a dome designed to blow O-rings they are the best) Call Tim at Titan Racing. He's a pro at fixing Trinity junk. I should know....... I've had 2 steaming piples of Trinity builds. Good Luck.

140 MPH?......You sure it's not 140 KPH? LOL. I think it could do it......I just don't think it will survive Re-Entry.

keep the banshee or move on
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to sangheraent's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I don't know what you have for a banshee. Most are basic bikes with a few bolt-ons and only worth $1500-$1800. But if your willing to spend the same amout on BUILDING a banshee that you would on BUYING a 4 stroke....your 4 stroke friends would be throwing fits wishing they had what you had. If you ride sand...KEEP IT! -
I've watched friends do @70 down the road...Your tires aren't even balanced! At 70 they jump and pulse so bad you'd think they were going to jump off the rims. The 1/4 mile bikes run drag slicks, TALL tires and even taller gears. They have 2-3 times the power of the bikes that are claiming these big numbers. Gearing charts aren't opinion...they are physical facts. With your "100MPH Club" guys way of thinking, I guess I could just find a nice flat road, put some tires and gears on my 10 speed and I'll be at 100 in no time. I know your talking about pavement in this dicussion, but a 75HP banshee in sand max's out at 60MPH. The hillbilly hauler tubocharged banshee with a busa motor is just touching over 100 at olds hill. Any chance your friends were full of _hit and just told you you were going over 100? I'd tell you that! Then we'd all laugh behind your back every time you told someone you could go 100. Here's an idea...go to a track. Get a time slip. PROVE US WRONG. Find a traffic sign that reads out your speed. Drop the banshee off and have a friend video your pass. (no plates on a banshee, so what have you got to loose) Don't go on and on with your BS about pacing a car. Ever thought to ask yourself how accurate a factory gauge is over 55? They offer different rear gears and tires for every model car and truck. But they don't have different speedo's for each different set-up. Trust the veteran's who are saying "No" 125 is BS. So far all you guys with 100+claims (other than the 1/4 mile guys with the crazy big gears, tires and motors) don't have the motor, tire or gear to even get close to 100. Your 350 ain't That bad!

450 lb rider, can the banshee survive?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to Driggs's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Banshee's factory rated to 220LBS. So is the Raptor. Yes he's killing your machine...clutch, shocks, subframe....You wouldn't order a Suburban from chevy with a 4 cylinder would you? You need to get him on a 4X4 with a big motor...and on a diet. -
That's why I said to ignore him. He's been born with "common sense". It's the only sense he's got. He'll be a great dad some day...throwing tools at his kid and telling him to just "man up and figure it out". Guess he's offended by you posting a question beneath his pay grade. I guess he could have just not answered the question....but he felt the need to tell you your weaknesses. How kind of the guy with 2 years experience (as he told us) to take the time to tell you your too dumb to be capable of doing anything. Blame your parents....your not the man he is. Anyway, he blames being a dick on his moods. Sounds like he's got a bad case of PMS.
-
2K ? Count yourself luck! No we don't have to see it to apreciate it... And in the future....don't ever put that ugly ass raptor plastic on a Banshee again......that's like seeing Santa in a speedo. It's just WRONG.

What would be the point? Other than running at the Bonniville Salt Flats.....what form of ATV racing cares about top speed? I don't think 125MPH will do any good on a Woods/MX/Trail course. 125MPH on the dunes will just get you killed. (for that matter, now that I think about it...so would going 125 in the Woods/MX track/Trails. LOL) Riding that fast would almost require pavement. Ever see what pavement riding will do to a good set of knobby tires? You gonna run special tires for the couple times you wanna' make high speed runs up and down the block? Who's going to watch? Who's going to care? You gonna do a brake upgrade to get you stopped when a car pulls out in front of you? If it takes a RADAR gun to impress your friends.....spend some money on some bling or learn to jump something big. To answer the question...."Is it possible"? With a 4mill....I doubt it. "Is it beliveable"? NO! It's a guy who saw too many other guys claim 100MPH, so he up'd the lie. LOL. I'll bet if you pull the jugs it's UN-PORTED with NOTHING you think was done to it. (just judging from his 125MPH comments)
-
Ignore him...he's never had to learn a thing. He was born with all the knowledge he'll ever have. Asking questions will help prevent you from learning the lessons the hard way. It's better than you blowing up a motor and having to ask some questions that are WAY above your pay grade this early in your learning curve. Start by getting a CLYMERS manual for your banshee. Read everything posted as a "sticky" at the top of each thread. Listen close to advice from guys who have bikes like yours. Don't let an EGO get in the way of an answer. There are plenty of videos on youtube of guys who were going full tilt, riding way above their ability, and learning a hard lesson.

Polished 16 mil Cheetah PV Cylinders

Port timings? Who did the port work? Got the crank? -
Yeah, with a crank that far out you could have seen that looking in the exhaust openings and turning it on the bench. This sellers going to tell you "That's what I was told was in it when I bought it from another guy" Doesn't look like anything was what he said it was. That's a real shame. Not only because you have to fix it (Unless your going to drive to him and put some skin in the game, he's just going to waste months arguing in posts.) But I also can appreciate that you lost a weekend at the dunes on your second run. Bad news.

2001 banshee
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to the shut up machine's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Well BAKER....This "retard windy city fuck head with 39 posts" happens to have been a member of 3 other sites for the last 4-5 years. I OWN a full chromoly custom Metal Tech +4 dune/drag frame with +2+1 a-arms, Full ELKA shocks,+10 swingarm, JJ+A play axle, and a 4 mill 472 cheetah motor with powervalves that dyno'd at 92 HP before it was ported. Now with the porting and custom domes from Tim at TITAN RACING I'm pushing 103HP. I'm no punk like you...I'm 40. I looked at your personal info and noticed your sporting some vito's pistons, FMF pipes, a boost bottle, and a cool head...JESUS T TAP DANCING CHRIST! My WIFES bike has more done to it. If you sold your bike and got top dollar, it couldn't pay for my billet! Your the Noob. Compared to the stuff in my garage, your bike looks almost stock to mine. You said your bike was "Down a tooth in front and up a tooth in back and ran 94MPH? That would be 13-42. He was claiming a 16-38 gear on a 20" tire....that would calcualte out to 95MPH. (some of use have gearing calcuators saved for conversations just like this) How are you doing 94 with shorter gearing 13-42 get's you LESS top end! Lastly, we don't just drag race and stop at 300ft. I drag/dune/dirt/woods/MX. I even entered a GNCC race last year! You ever paid money to enter a race? Ever gone up against anybody other than your friends? Top speed doesn't prove shit. We've done that too. Line up 3 guys at a time and run down my buddy's paved country road. After about 3 passes it get's lame quick. We just know that even if your bike can go 100 in a straight line down a paved road.......we would have you by about a city block because your lame "basic bolt-on's banshee" isn't quick. Heck I can get to 74MPH in only 300 ft and I'm only in 5th gear. In sand! LOL. Everythings fast if you give it enought time to come up to speed. Just what is the point of going 100 on the road? Can't really turn at that speed...jump? Hope not....stop? Not fast enough if trouble pops up....Your just stroking your ego. OOOOOH! your banshee's so bad ass it's as fast as a stock Celica. Sorry if our efforts to tune-up a guy who wants to claim 104MPH and ask $2500 for an ugly $1200 dollar bike have hurt your feelings. But if you have to say something like that to impress people to sell a bike....it isn't much of a bike. Hell, read his post...HE'S got more done to his bike that you do to yours! LMFAO Here's an idea...when you go back to school tomorrow, see if anybody is blown away with your story about your Wicked Top Speed Banshee....if someone is, sell it and buy this guys bike. It's bound to be faster than yours, and with more stuff done, you won't look like such a Noob. As for judging people by thier post count.....I'd say you've just said ALOT of stupid stuff. I only chime in when it's just too funny to NOT say something. As for you...keep talking, your bound to be right sooner or later........ -
2001 banshee
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to the shut up machine's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Don't you all know that "Knowing" your machine as well as he does can make it faster. He can add all his Testosterone and Ego to the HP of his machine because he and the machine are at one with each other. Like I'm sure his honda civic is faster than your vette becuase he wants to win more than you. EVERY person who posts the statement that thier Banshee has gone 100MPH is a punk. ( On this site it's all about how QUICK your machine is, not how fast) I've done 114MPH in a fullsized chevy van.....but that don't make it Quick. 100MPH with small carbs, a boost bottle, off the shelf pipes and some REAL GETTO A_S UGLY RATTLE CAN PAINT? NOT! I'd say 60MPH with a tailwind....downhill! What a tool. With those tires, if you had it geared to go 100MPH you would need a push start from a chase vehicle like at the Bonniville salt flats. $2,500? That quad wasn't worth $1,800 before the market crashed! I'd say $1,200 minus the cost to strip that ugly paint. Hey, just for kicks let's see a picture of this imaginary GPS. ( A "RADAR GUN" that says HotWheels on the side and came with your HotWheels daredevil track is not a GPS. ) Glad you don't have to count on things like big tires, gearing, HP or Physics to reach certain speeds. Guess you think Turbo Blue is like Nitro. Turbo Blue + Boost Bottle + Monster EGO + Banshee = Time travel. We know you didn't do 100MPH.....at 88MPH you go back in time. At 100MPH you would have a hard time holding your head up with the wind hitting your visor of your helmet. Unless......your one of those who doesn't use a helmet. That might explain all the BS/tool comments. How bout this.....post that steaming pile of Banshee on Ebay where you can find a nice 15 year old who will be impressed with all your custom mods. List it without a reserve so you won't waste your time. You won't get a bid.....it's not worth the shipping! "You just gotta love the internet....You can't TEACH the idiots....but if you just watch them from a distance, it's like a romantic comedy....without the romance." -
Your not big boned...or fat.....your a fully gusetted race chassis. Skinny book types aren't built for speed. LOL. But it wouldn't hurt for you to lay off the damn bacon. If the car seats slid all the way back...and you have to recline the seat to fit the tummy....McFatty's shouldn't be part of the race season diet....or the off season. LOL.

She told you to do what??! So then what did you do??? Did she promise a lifetime of endless threesome's? Did I miss WHY you sold your banshee....Cause she told you to?! Next time your wife tells you what you have to do......hit her with your purse. LMFAO. Machines don't get parted for a wedding...they get parted for a divorce! Smart guys sell their banshee's to their friends for $20.00 BEFORE the divorce. Then you tell the judge you sold it to get money to stop the fights about money. Also did it to have more time to focus on the marrage. By the way.....what did your woman get rid of before she moved in? Oh that's right, you already told us. She got rid of your banshee. But I bet you helped move all her old magazines and stuffed animals from her place. I just sold my wife's 400EX to GET her a Banshee. Oh well, lesson learned. Better luck next time.
