  1. It's gonna be a beaut... nice polish work by the way.
  2. I rock a 13 42 setup on my trail bike, it works great in the trails and has great acceleration. on the wide open spots my buddies yfz gets ahead of me a bit though. on my dune bike i am running a 14 38 setup, in the wide open i am way ahead of the yfz.
  3. Hey Guys, I am looking for a 2 into 1 intake/manifold for my banshee, prefer graydon proline style but will consider anything you got... i have a carb for it already, let me know what you have, looking for a real budget peice, trying things out on a trail setup. thanks, Brandon

    LMAO!

i saw that on ksl this morning and had a good laugh about it too...
  5. since i live in utah, how much for pickup? i can even bring cash if you'd like?
  6. you left your poor dumb buddy sittin there on an 80, did you think he wouldn't rat you out??? so even if he didn't rat you out the bike could have been impounded and you would have lost that. just get your shit registered and stay out of places you shouldn't be... in my own personal experiences cops are a lot nicer and more forgiving if you don't run away, even if they don't catch you now they are gonna lurk around the area and bust your ass later. evading the police a lot bigger ticket too than, being caught riding on the road..... this is all just my opinion man, you can do what ever you want.
  7. Well running from the cops makes all of us (ATV and Dirtbike Riders) look bad, if he didn't give you shit after he caught you for runnin, he probably wouldn't have given you shit if you hadn't run. Now i know a lot of cops and he's probably a dickweed with little man syndrome, so now every chance he gets to prove his pecker is big he's gonna run down anyone on a dirtbike or ATV. you don't help the sport by runnin, i know i had my dumb times as a youngin, but you might as well hear it now.
  8. unplug the park brake sensor as well, that one could get ya, i am going with that or tors.
  9. there is a small pin looking deal in each ring groove, make sure that the break in the ring pinches this little pin. if not you will never get those pistons on, it can be a little tricky but after you get it on you will wonder why you couldn't have figured that out before.
  10. buy a couple carb rebuild kits and your problems should be solved. after a few years those orings seals and gaskets really get tore up by the gas and constant use. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Banshee-88-06-Carb-Carburetor-Rebuild-Repair-Kit_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem588641adabQQitemZ380209573291QQptZMotorsQ5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  11. I def agree with blowit on this one, low compression is a symptom of a problem, but there are plenty of other factors. if you put a decent amount of ride time on your bike, you should take it down in the off season and look it over. I did this the second i purchased my last banshee because i bought it when it was -30 deg out side and i sure as heck wasn't gonna ride it, i comp tested it it was a perfect 135 in each cylinder... i took off the top end and as soon as i had the right side off, i noticed the skirt of the piston was holding on by a thread, if i had ridden it like that it probably would have fallen into the crank causing a disaster. new piston kit cost $150 which wasn't bad compared to the cost of a new crank and all the other damage that might have occured.
  12. Trick Racing made a fuel injection system for a banshee, though i don't think it was super successful. here is the website they use to run, but it looks like someone forgot to pay the bill http://www.trickracing1.net/
  13. If i were you i wouldn't get him too nice of a bike, my little YZ80 looked like i had taken it to war when i finally graduated to the yz125... that being said though, the newer ones will have a better center of gravity and balance and the suspension will be more forgiving to mistakes, but you will probably have increased power.
  14. Check your coil and spark plug wires, mine was doing the same thing, it was only at WOT too... ended up finding that the coil wires (orange and black connected to the coil box) weren't making full contact, i pushed those on there, gave them a pinch with some plyers and the popping stopped right away.
  15. I just turn mine gas off when i park it, if your floats are set right it should not be running fuel onto the ground... i wouldn't worry to much about emptying the floats either or putting stabilizer in the fuel, just run the tank to about empty or what ever, i don't even run my banshee from sep to feb, i pulled it out a week ago filled the tank with fresh fuel, kicked it a few times and it's rockin. if you are storing it for a for a year + or if it lives outside you might look more into emptying it when you park it...
  16. Hey Ladies, So the other day i was purchasing some klotz from a local dealership, i have always been very pleased with Klotz... the guy behind the counter is a bit of a banshee nut as well, so was the guy that he was talking to while ignoring me. Well the other guy is like "I don't wanna bust your balls, but why are you running Klotz?" I said i was running it because i have been using it for 6 or 7 years, and i haven't seen any negative affects from it, and my motor seemed fine. then both of them started pushing this Ipone oil, premix and engine lube. there are a ton of sled heads here in Utah and i started asking around, looks like there are a ton of guys running it in their sleds, it's a couple bucks cheaper than Klotz, it's synthetic, and smells like strawberries.... Has anyone run this, or heard anything about it? negative or positive? Thanks!
  17. Don't be afraid it is really a lot easier than you would expect all you gotta do it take the left side wheel and hub off, then get the axle nuts off (sounds funnier than it is), take the sprocket hub off, the brake caliper, then the axle should slide out the right side, if not, use cave man skills and a big hammer, make sure you put the hub nut on flush with the end of the axle. and use a two by four or rubber mallet, don't whack the end of the axle with a metal hammer or you will be buying a new axle. the bearings come out easy by putting a long punch or ratchet extension through to the other side and beat them out.... put the new bearings back in and put everything back together... some will suggest also adding a grease zerk at this point, but i figure my bearings lasted a long time with out one, and for the $20 bucks i will just replace them again in 5 or 6 years. good luck.
  18. we are only going to Wash 10 because that's where we stayed last year, and it was our first time, so maybe we didn't know better, it seems pretty centrally located... anyone have any better suggestions???
  19. it's a sick obsession that has almost cost me a marriage a few times!!
  20. it's not that bad, definetly worth the experience at least once a year, we did it last year in about 13 hours total, we hit some bad construction traffic down in cali that really put the brakes on us for a couple hours. the cummins gets some good mileage so split between three of us it is about 160 each for fuel. I'm in clearfield!
  21. Hey Ya'll, I will be at Glamis, feb 17-21, if you are out there stop by for a bullshit, we will be staying at wash 10, maroon ext cab dodge with white 19 ft vnose enclosed... 3 banshee's and a 250r. On a side note we might still have one spot left in our trailer, if you are in utah or somewhere along the way and wanna help split the gas, let me know. on the way back we will be stoping in vegas for a night...
  22. do you have a title? where in cali are you? how long ago did you put this together?
