  1. Whats the lowest you can go on the pipes? I don't like to make offers and such.
  2. Ah dude, I saw your ad on craigslist a while back.. I LOVE that banshee, and want it so bad.. Possible trade for an 05 400ex?
  3. Also, yamaha pisses me off. They can EASILY make the banshee clean-running and update the chassis, but its too much money to do it.. Look at the Evinrude E-Tecs, they run cleaner then 4-strokes do. If yamaha put that technology into a 500cc banshee 2-stroke, they can have a super-fast clean burning 450 killer. You'll never have to change the plugs, and it will barely pollute. Come on Yamaha! ::
  4. I enjoy dicks like those 450 guys. I love listening to their shit talk sayin they have all this crap done to it, and then racing. Then a 20yr old technology quad with just basic pipes and jetting, flies past them and they're like WTF?!?! Ill admit, even I was starting to get pulled in by the 450 craze, but after riding my dads shee alot, I changed my mind. There is NOTHING like that 2-stroke pull. It made me find my own banshee, which is undergoing a build. Everyone and their mother has a 450, and I think they're over rated. If I ever go the 4-stroke route, screw the damn 450's, im goin raptor 700. But, I WILL keep the banshee, Ill just eventually sell the 400ex to either mod the shee or get a 700. Most of the guys we meet are cool though. They ride 450's and 400's, and they just pull up to us to talk. Tell us different places to ride, etc. Then we meet some other banshee riders, they're fun to hang out with! lol. They already know banshee's are fast. We meet em and they show us new places.
  5. I Have a couple things to do a partial trade Painted blue front fender (darker than yamaha blue) Black hood Black tank cover Stock exhaust baffle Stock head pipe Let me know how much extra cash if i trade that stuff
  6. I have another thing not to put on a banshee THOSE GAY RADIATOR GRILLS! It looks like one of those things a teenager does to his car. They block airflow. The goal is to get better flow to the radiator, not block it.
  7. Well, like mentioned before, they are better than stock. They just completely suck though. 1) Sound cruddy 2) Preform cruddy (no low, alright mid, mediocre top) 3) Ugly 4) Heavy There are so many better pipes out there. My personally favorites are FMF Fatty's and Toomey T6's. My dads employee had DG's also. omg, worst pipe ever made for them. They dont tune the pipes, they just kinda make curves and stick it on. Whereas FMF and Toomey study the sonic wave and try to maximize the timing for the wave to return.
  8. I don't do nothing huge yet, because ive been riding my 400ex. I don't have the balls to climb anything huge or loose with that. My banshee is gonna be going through a complete overhaul before its ridable. I have holeshots on my 400ex, and if its dry and loose, they loose traction even on small hills. If its wet and packed, they do fine. The shale eats at them though...
  9. Hey guys. Well, I have a J-arm banshee. I noticed with the stock shocks it already comes close to the upper J-arm. Well, since the YFZ shocks are larger in diameter, will they touch the top J-arm? (Sorry if someone already asked this, didnt feel like reading the whole thread...)
  10. I totally agree. We ride in the central PA area around Ashland/Frackville/Shamokin etc. You need super swampers or puresport realtors to climb that shit.
  11. Thats what I figured, we ran them in my dad banshee and they seem to be very precise in measurments and work well. Anyone else?
  12. Hey. Well, once we get the elctrical straightened out on my banshee, she's gonna need a rebuild. Left cylinder is running just under 75psi and the right is running just under 100psi. Im almost definitely going with wiesco pro-lites, but I want to know, what do you run and what do you think of them? I would love to try the Vitos power-pistons, but heard they're notorious for cracking rings. My dad had WSM coated pistons but we had to tear it back down after one ride because the cylinders were too big, because the guy was a dumbass and bored it too large. Well, the coating was already gone.. So what do you run, and what to you recomend?
  13. 1) Raptor Plastics (gay) 2) Cut Fenders 3) Single Pipe I hate the bloodshot eyeball covers, but we have covers that arent bloodshot but look like the banshee wants to rip your head off, lmao. They look cool.
  14. We run fatty's on my dad's banshee. I think they're a great pipe. Excellent mid-top end. Still lags bottom, but you'll find that with everything except maybe the dynoport. They sound real nice and crisp too. The only place they aren't strong is build quality. Where the t5's feel real heavy and strong, the fatty's feel like they're made out of tin. I actually hate t5's though, and don't know what the big deal with them is. As far as Procircut, I only know one person who had them and hated them, so he sold them and bought fatty's.
  15. DG PIPES SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would trade for the t6's in a heartbeat, and you should too.
  16. No offense, but DG exhausts pipes suck. Ditch em while you can. We run FMF Fatty Gold Series on my dads, and they're great. Power and clearance. Tons of top-end too.
  17. Sorry I never called you, busy as hell lately. Yamadog got to me first, so Im gonna try to work somethin out with him first. If I dont do anything with him then ill get back to you.
  18. Well, we just bought a harness off ebay, but the guy hasnt got back to us. He also had a CDI so we asked how much to ship both to us, and he never replied.. So, like I said in the previous post, hes gonna give ya a call. Do you have a harness too? Or a stator? Snopczynski: thanks for the info
  19. Yeah, I got your pm. My dads gonna call ya probable tonight or tomorow to set something up.
  20. our zip is 18360. we're in stroudsburg, PA. If you have any CDI's that are the old style you can sell cheap that would be great. PM me with details. Anyone else that might be able to help with our situation?
  21. Ok, recently we picked up an 89 banshee. It didn't run because it isnt getting spark, We Ohm'd everything out and the stator/coil/pickup coil seem to be fine including on/off switch and ignition. We looked over the wiring and harness and it appears to be fine also. After all this we figured the CDI might be bad. We took one off a 2001 and found out the plugs are different. We adapted the older plugs to the CDI and realizzed there's one extra green wire with a yellow stripe that wasn't on the 89 CDI. the 89 only had 4 wires. We figured this might be for the TORS on the newer models, but arent sure. SO we plugged in the new CDI which we knew was off a running bike, and still got no spark. We don't know if the green wire might have something to do with it. Anyone think they might be able to help us out?? We're running out of ideas and getting frustrated. We're trying to find a new harness and CDI that are meant for the older models. The wiring harness seem to be okay after tracing the wires but was a little hacked up. If everythinbg for the TORS is disconnected, 3 wires to the TOR box, plugs disconnected from carbs, will it stop the spark or not interfere with it? there was a black and and black with white stripe connected together. we tried it both ways connected and disconnected. not sure what it orignally attached to. no spark either way.
  22. Hey everyone. Im looking for a complete wiring harness for an 87-94 yamaha banshee. I need the harness, CDI, and voltage regulator. PM me if you have one, thanks.
