i dont know where some of u r coming up w/ these prices like 220 for stroker porting and 100 for alky carbs???? those would be a hell of a deal. but im w/ jethro 100% on this one. my builder bought an 87 banshee. it looked like crap. had some old and i mean old fmf's on it, dont even know what kind but they were pretty high rev i guess w/ some shitty ass fmf silencers. he gave it a high rev drag port. modded the stock head, and swithed the stock carbs to alky. extended the swingarm +4. prolly ported the stock reed cages. all in all it had stock head, stock carbs, and old shitty lookin pipes. looked like a shitty piped banshee but waxed other drag bikes. you wouldnt be beating 4 strokes. you would be owning all piped banshees and all 4 strokes by at least 6 bike lengths. go w/ drag porting, mod the stock head, switch the stock carbs to alky, port the stock reed cages, new pistons, and weld up the crank. throw on some 10 paddle haulers and whoop the living holy hell outta every 4 stroke that crosses your path.

smoke a fat blunt and drink. no hangover. my friend swears by drinking a huge glass of milk b4 you start drinking. i myself like to start drinking early and then get trashed and then quit and sober up a little bit b4 you go to sleep. usually works everytime. not if you get so bad you pass out though. and stick w/ beer. the hard shit will give ya the hangover. 20 oz of vodka in like 3 hrs will give ya the hangover from hell.

mine never bogged in 2nd when i dumped it but there was a load on it. and i pretty much only dragged it. also had a stock clutch.

bump has anyone had this happen to a non ported motor?

im getting my shee motor done as we speak and its getting full drag port and all that good stuff. right before i sent it in my bro rode it and it locked up on him. thought it might of caught a ring or something to do w/ the piston. turns out the crank split. its a 2002 model. and all i had done to it was cpi inframes, k&n clamp ons on stock carbs, timing +4, jetted, ported reed cages and a 13 tooth up front w/ 10 paddle haulers. my builder said he has never seen a stock motor split the crank and that it must of been puttin out some good horsepower. its ok cause im gettin it trued and welded anyway so it happened at the right time. my friend's gettin his done too and his is an 03 and he had it like 6 months and our builder said his crank was about to go to w/in a couple more rides. our piped shees smack the hell outta all the others around and we ride em hard but has anyone else had this happen to their shees w/o any porting done to their motors? i didnt think that could happen w/o a drag port on it. guess my bro dialed it in pretty good that day.

might sound dumb, but make sure your gas is turned on. i'd check the carbs too. make sure they are opening and everything. clean em if need be.

i had a pretty good x-mas. got a guitar case, strap, and tuner. also got the led zeppelin complete studio recordings box set, 2 zeppelin shirts and 2 zeppelin posters. and a hot one of brooke burke. a necklace, basketball dvd and my bro's gonna loan me some money towards my porting since im getting my motor built as we speak. hope i get a couple of nice days b4 the next semester starts so i can at least break it in.

i agree, you start off just wanting to dune ride then get sucked into the drag scene. also not many people can just drop the kinda cash it takes to make a drag bike right off the bat. gotta slowly gradually make it faster or sit around w/ nothing for like 5 yrs til ya got the money to go all out. i'd rather slowly go thru the process being that i am poor.

i've like the mb quarts that i've heard in the past but i do agree w/ the harsh thing. that's exactly why i chose my aplines instead of the eclipses back in the day. much smoother and not as harsh. for the sub i'd go w3 also. definately 2 amps too. check out the specs on both head units and see which one offers what you need and then run them both and see which one you like to operate better. matter of opinion and yours is the one in question so go out there and check them out.

i agree 100% w/ justin on the jl sub issue. so many people have come to me and my brother and our friend thinking they got "the shit and then some" system cause they got a huge ass amp (1000 watts out of jc witney just dont cut it) and a pair of badass subs. then we show them the good ol jl wo 15's in the explorer w/ a measley little kicker amp (they could handle twice the power) and it blows them away and needless to say makes them feel really really stupid. these subs cost my bro like 150 apiece and pound to beat hell. my other friend had some jl 10's and gave them at least twice the amount of power they were supposed to have and they just took it and begged for more. i will never stray from jl.

all the local dealers around me are selling more banshees too. they can't keep them on the showroom floor they say. and here's a thought. the shee has been around for 17 years. SEVENTEEN!!!!!!! and people are still buying them even though they change absolutely nothing about them every single year and they are still selling as good as the other quads. the 4 strokes are just now starting to keep up w/ them stock for stock and nothing can touch them modified. 17 years from now do you think the raptor and z400 will still be on the production floor? i doubt it. how can they end the most ultimate machine ever created on the face of the earth??? unless they are being forced to do so, they would be really, really fucking stupid.

strokers are good for SPL but for SQ they suck. im a JL man myself. had rockford and about every other kind and love jl bass. jmo. you can get some 15 inch w0's and throw even a little amount of watts to them and they pound. and they can handle a ton more than they are rated. to me i dont think you'd even want any more bass than what they can do w/ a big amp in an suv. i was impressed seeing that they are their entry level sub.

my brother's 5 speed 92 cavalier was a machine. never got stuck and busted bigger drifts than any lil mini truck in town. also tackled huge ass hills. we called it the mighty cav.

when i was younger my dad had a yamaha 200 3 wheeler. our whole family, aunts, uncles, cousins would all go to the river under the bridge and ride. every family had a 3 wheeler. all uncles then got 220's. then when i was prolly junior high we sold it and got a yamaha moto 4. thought it was badass. all uncles then got 4x4's and we mud bogged for like 5 years. then my in 2001 my cousin got a blaster and i couldnt believe the power of it. i needed a sport quad. wanted a raptor cause they looked cool. kid in town just got a new shee after shadow day at the local dealer. didnt even ride a quad b4 in his life. so i rode it on a gravel road and once the powerband hit in 3rd gear and i went sideways i completely forgot about the raptor idea and instantly fell in love w/ the shee. wanted one for like a year b4 i finally got a brand new 2002. then my friend got one and then my brother. now all my cousins are gettin into sport quads and my brother has had his shee for not even a year and its full drag alcohol and in the top 5 fastest in the state. now about 70 kids in my small hometown of 1000 ppl and the town next to it of about 800 ppl got quads and about 25 are shees. we run in packs....lol

alpine makes good shit. i have alpine speakers all the way around and they sound excellent. i have the panasonic day/night cd player, the first one to come out back in the day. i love it, my brother has a more expensive kenwood excelon and i dont like it near as much. it has alot more options but unless your competing in competitions its just shit that gets in the way and makes it more confusing to run. i dont like pioneer decks that much cause they are like the fuckin mustang of cd players. everyone has them!! eclipse are awesome but you will cough up some bucks for them. just my opinions, not even gonna get into arguing whats better w/ car stereo shit. too much stuff and i've been out of the game for the past 2 yrs.
