any ideas???

Could it possibly have something to do with the TORS i keep reading about? ive read plenty of how to remove them, but havent found anything that says what TORS actually does. Is it some type of a rev-limiter or something? Again it just seems to bogg down and backfire a little when its been being reved up for a while, especially when climbing a hill it does it sooner. But it also does act that way when riding flat, just takes longer for it to happen. Im loving the power of the banshee stock, as ive always had 4-strokes before. and i dont really want to start modifying anything yet. Im hoping it is a simple jetting issue, but not sure where to start as far as sizing. Thanks again for any help anyone can give.

it is absolutly bone stock. i have not changed anything performance wise. only thing ive done is add skid plates and shock covers. This is my first 2 stroke ever, always had 4 stokes before this (yamaha warrior, suzuki 125 dirt bike). elevation is about 4700 ft. tire size: the paddles are the same size as the stock tires (just bigger wheels and diff offset). so checking the plugs: just do this plug chop ive read about? what does that tell you? ive read about how to do it on here, just dont understand what it tells you? Do you think it would have anything to do with the bowls and float adjustment? or should it be ok since i just bought it? Thanks for your help! Chand.

i thought only BROS rode pit bikes outside of the pits.

i hate how they ride up and down the canyons here in utah, there is absolutly no going around them! I like to be chewing on some jumblo bubble gum and toss it at them wheni drive by, or a handful or sunflower seeds, scares the shit outta them. What i dont get is if they are riding the canyons for the scenery, why not drive up and bike some trails where there are no cars?? its the gaytardest thing ever, What i hate the most is how they all want to be treated equal as cars by having right of lane and everything. But soon as the light is red they sure as hell dont stop! they get over to the side and ride thru the red light wtf is that. its like women wanting equal rights but dont understand why guys wont open their door or give up their seat on the trax. ahhhh... that felt good.

Well i just got back from riding the dunes today. I have a stock 2006 banshee (of course). It seems to bog after i have it reved up for a bit, like if im climbing a long hill, itll just bog regardless of the gear. Its only the third time ive ridin it, and it did it last time. it was in july so i thought maybe it was just getting too hot or something. had a few suggestions to check the carb bowls, but its new, they should be adjusted fine id think. I am thinking maybe the dealership didnt jet it correctly, i got a baggy with a few different size jets in it along with my owners manual and spare keys. Does anyone think it could be the jetting, or is there something else it could be. It sux, cuz just as im whoopin on some 4 pokers, it bogs and i have to spin around. Thanks in advance, Chad.

i got them on thursday. and put them on this morning. They fit perfectly and mounted up nicely. my only issue is that the chain guid that is supposed to work with the skid didnt fit so nicely. The bolt it came with is kinda long, so i gotta go find a new bolt thats not so long. no big deal, but thats the only issue i had. the shock covers look nice also, kinda owrried they wouldnt match the new bike, but they look smooth.

well, you guys talked me into it. Just ordered PRM chassis skid and z-swing arm with chain roller guide. also got some ghost flamed shock covers from them. not bad pricing. i do alot more mountain riding than i do sand, so i wanted the thickest i could get, so i got the .250 z-swinger and .190 chassis. Hope they work out and mount up nice. Ill let you know how it goes after i get them.

the brand new (06) has a really soft gripper style seat. it almost feels like rubber. plus it is really thick and super soft foam. way beter than my old vinyl warrior seat

ya, im going to get a clymers. Shouldnt the floats be adjusted to that from the factory? i really just bought it brand new, only rode it twice, the first time was in the mountains (long trip, used 2 tanks of gas, vairying throttle and speed constantly.), and then at the dunes this past sunday. I wouldnt think they floats would be screwed up already. could some moron at the dealership messed with it or something? or is it still just not broke in all the way?
-
cool, thats exactly what it seems like its doing. running great, and then right at the top, it seems like it runs out. Does the bowl hold a certainamount of fuel, and the float let it know how full to fill it? kind like a toilet?? Where do i buy or find an online copy of a clymers? I did a search, but i keep finding stuff that doesnt say where i can get one. but i keep finding all sorts of other info i wasnt looking for. Thanks guys.
-
Well, i appreciate the info guys. I will do a search here on clymers and see where i can get one. Thanks a lot guys, ill let you know how far off they are adjusted. Does everyone agree with what the measurments should be? What will the floats do? or is that in the clymers?
-
ya, ratio rite. Got one too, and i already like it.

i think 16 oz for 5 gallons is 40-1.

ok, i dont think it is the park brake - i havent hit the bars or anything at all, let alone hard. It just seemed like it wasnt getting gas when the hill got really steep, and then when i flip around and let off throttle and re-apply it popped like it got over loaded with fuel. ill check the float levels, I dont know about carbs, let alone how to take the bowls off, is there a diagram or something somewhere thatll show me how to take them apart? I dont wanna mess anything up, shouldnt they have cam adjusted from the dealership? ill run a search on the floats and carbs to see what i can find Thanks again guys, i really appreciate the help.
-
well its brand new, dont know why the park brake would make the engine sound and act like its not getting gas. Whats TORS? and how would i check and adjust my float level? Any other ideas? Thanks guys.

Thanx, whats tors? any one else got any ideas??

Is there some type of limiter or something on the new banshees. I just got an 06, took it to the mountains a couple times to break it in. Well, i went to the dunes this sunday, the bike did totally awesome everywhere. There is a little problem: when i was nearing the top of sand mountian (3rd gear) the motor sounds awesome and seems to be running great, and then outta nowhere, it bogged down, seemed to just lose all power, i tried this about 4 times, and it did it in nearly the same spot everytime. And then on some of the other steeper hills, when it seems i was running in the powerband for a few mins it seemed to do the same thing, regardless of the gear i was in. Ive seem on bikes for sale people saying "rev limiter removed", is this something that is installed on these bikes to keep them from running full bore for very long. It also was very hot down there, about 99 degrees the rangers told me. So i was thinking it might have been the heat and the fact that it was a new bike and might not be totally broke in to run at high rpms yet? Any clue guys???? i was having fun smoking the yfz450's and raptor's till i got about 20 yards from the top and had to turn around. I wanna be able to keep smoking them all the way up. I dont really wanna do any mods though, i like the low end too for now cuz its my mountain bike for a bit too. So please help with whats wrong, please someone tell me its not my new bike.

Ya, i think ill just fab something outta some thin steel and hang off the brake light bracket, and on the front bumber. Thanks, guys.
-
appreciate it guys. Will definately keep an eye in the forums for stuff for sale. Ya, powe is good, for now anyways.. sure itll eventually get there.
-
Well, got back last night. The paddles did really well i thought. the sand was really soft and i had no problems, tey do kick up a high roost, but seem to hook up well, and do well sid hilling too. definately worth the money, pretty cheap, i got mine with wheels for about $170.
-
bracket on the swinger? where do you find those? and is there one for somewhere on the front?
-
All years of bikes. any motorcycle, atv, side by side, ohv, has to be registerd as so regardless of the year. depending on the year, the price is diff. For my old 87 warrior its like $30 a year, and for the new shee it is $84 a year.
-
So who has the best skid plates? dont care much about price, just want the best and lightest? or atleast a happy medium. Thanks guys. Ive been learning so much reading on here, seems like that all ive been doing is searching and going thru eveyones old posts. Lotsa great info, thanks guys, really appreciate all the knowledge! -Chad

were do you guys put yours? dont know about other states but here in utah we have two, most people put them on either side of the tank, or in front and rear. I wanna run them on the front and rear i think, but want some brackets or something so i dont have to stick them directly on the bike. Anyone have any ideas besides making my own brackets?
