Also, he hasn't said what color powerbands he has on it... if he's running the blue powerbands, I'd say 96MPH is entirely possible. Hell, I heard of a guy with blue powerbands, twin boost bottles, electronic supercharger, and O2 sensor resistor chip hitting 120MPH and still having throttle, but he said when he hit 121, his alarm clock went off and he woke up.

I know I'm a little late on this, but seriously... YAMAHONDA? That thing's queerer than a football bat. EDIT: Okay, so it says YAMONDA, which is even fucking gayer.

Pretty sure I already know what's wrong, but...

I haven't gotten a chance to get into the crankcase yet, just the cylinders. -
Have you tried opening up the air screw? If it's sputtering at idle and down low I would guess that it's not getting enough air.

I was riding over the weekend and got plenty of good riding time in, but that all ended when the right-side O ring on the head let go and it let antifreeze into the cylinder... I pulled the head off and got all the antifreeze out of the cylinder and tried to kick it over, it turned over a bit the first time I kicked it but after that it was completely locked. The left-hand cylinder is fine but the right-hand piston is pitted, and it's pitted around the dome in the same pattern, so obviously the piston was coming up and slapping against the dome. I'm sure that at the very least the crankshaft's hosed, but not positive. What do you guys think, and if the crankshaft is fucked, would I be better off trying to rebuild the engine I have (4mm stroker, just dumped a bunch of money into the top-end) or scrapping it and getting a new motor?
-
I might be able to sell you mine, my Banshee puked a crank over the weekend so I'll have to check and make sure everything else is okay, but I'll probably be pulling the whole motor and would be glad to get rid of whatever's salvageable from it. Keep me posted on whether or not you find a bottom end for yours, and I'll let you know what everything looks like once I get the engine pulled.

Thanks, like I said, just glad you're happy with everything! Also, I really appreciate the VForce installation guide.

Yep, not surprisingly, that's all fake. If it's circulated by email, 9 times out of 10 you can bet it's bullshit.

2000 yamaha banshee for sale. =(
HammerShee99 replied to .100_over's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Sorry to hear that your other Shee was stolen... it pisses me off to no end that there are so many low-life pieces of shit out there who are too cheap to buy their own quad but will go load up someone else's quad without even thinking of the consequences. Best of luck selling your Shee, and while it may not be likely, here's hoping you can get your old Banshee back. -
I rode one for a little bit on the 4th, and for the short time I rode it, I wasn't all that impressed... it was stock, and I didn't get to ride it very long, but it gave me the impression that my Banshee could take a stock one pretty easily.

Hey thanks man, yeah, I know what you mean about parts... I had Dennis Kirk pretty much on speed dial when this thing was running, they were the only guys I could get parts from, and they didn't have everything for it, I kinda got lucky when my intake boot got cracked because oldschoolyamaha was selling on eBay at that time. I'd imagine some of the stuff would be interchangeable with YZs from other years (carb, wheels/tires, etc.) also, but I'm not positive about what would and wouldn't be interchangeable.

Oh yeah, just a few more things to add... the swinger's in good condition so I could probably sell that if anybody wanted it, the seat is a hunk of shit but it still kinda works (big hole burnt in the pipe side of the seat, from you guessed it, the exhaust, but the seat pan's fine), I can take pictures of specific stuff or the whole bombed-out shell of a bike if anybody wants them, and I'm pretty sure you guys know that I'm not trying to make this bike sound any nicer than it really is (I won't lie, I beat the ever-loving shit out of that thing when it was still running, and it's a wonder it stayed together long enough for me to fuck up the engine).

Need to sell my '86 YZ250, the engine/tranny are already pulled out of it, and the gas tank has been removed. The top end's pretty much shot, I'm not sure what kind of shape the rest of the engine's in, and the gas tank has a dent in the plastic on one side, so personally, I wouldn't think they'd be worth buying with the bike, but if you want them, I'll include them. One of the motor mounts on the frame is broken, but you could probably just make a template, cut a new one, and replace the old one with that. The rims/tires are probably the main selling point of the bike, as they're in really good condition. I also have the original carb (Mikuni, I believe it's a 38mm), intake boot, a Moose foam filter, the reed cage with Boyesen reeds, and a set of Moose handlebars with a Renthal pad that I'd be willing to sell seperately, and if nobody's interested in the bike itself, feel free to make offers on whatever you're interested in there. I don't have a silencer, front brake assembly, clutch lever, chain, cables, or gas lines for the bike, so if you bought everything I have you'd still have a long ways to go before you'd have it up and running, so honestly I'd recommend just making an offer on whatever parts you want, and we'll go from there. If you want the whole bike (or what's left of it) though, just make an offer...

FS: Keihin 35mm Single Carb setup
HammerShee99 replied to HammerShee99's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Hmmmm, will have to look into that, thanks. That said, I'll hold off on selling the VForces for now, but the K&N is still for sale if anybody's interested. -
FS: Keihin 35mm Single Carb setup
HammerShee99 replied to HammerShee99's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Carb/intake is sold pending payment. My VForces won't hook up to the stock intake boots, so unless anybody has a suggestion for how I can get them to hook up with the stock intake boots, they're gonna be sold in lieu of my Boyesens. I know for sure that they'll hook up to a Trinity 2-into-1 because that's what they're off of. I'm asking $80 shipped for the reeds. Also got a K&N with outerwear for sale, make an offer for it. Might have some parts off an '86 YZ250 for sale soon, thinking about parting it out. Let me know if there's anything in specific you guys are looking for. -
Amen.

I voted "whatever", because I'm kinda on the fence... I don't really care for full cut fenders most of the time, but I don't like the full fenders either. I love the way the fenders on my Banshee are cut (they're cut where the fenders flatten out at the top and back), but I don't see them cut that way very often.

Great guy to deal with, got my stuff sent out in a hurry, and I sure as hell can't complain about the price. Hey Steve, in the unlikely event that you're ever in north-central Nebraska, feel free to drop in and talk shop with me over a cold brewski or two.
-
Unfortunately for both of us, I can only wish I had the money to take 'er off your hands... Bump for a super-clean Shee, though.
-
Going back to the twin carb setup and I'm gonna sell the single carb to pay for my new clutch and cylinder porting... I have a Keihin 35mm with a Trinity 2-into-1 intake, stock reed cages w/ Boyesens, and a K&N filter with outerwear. The carb has a couple screws stripped out on the bottom cap and it's been drilled out so that the cap will come off, you should be able to drill all the way through and put new screws in without much of an issue though. I'd like $400 for the entire setup, leave a note here or PM me if you're interested. I'll stop by the shop and take a couple pics of the setup also if you'd like.

anyone switch from a banshe to a street bike
HammerShee99 replied to peterlocal22's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Glad to hear you're not giving up the Shee, there's always places to ride if you look long enough. If I ever run out of places to ride around here, I'll move. I like street bikes, but they just can't replace the feeling of ripping down a trail or nailing a big double on a quad or dirt bike. Nothing can. -
Clean looking Shee, good luck getting her sold!

Heel Guards. Where are they ? RaceReady11
HammerShee99 replied to mrneg9's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Glad to hear you guys are finally getting your parts. Parts received or not, though, this guy still obviously has no idea how to do business. Nobody should have to sit through a month of waiting and several rude emails to get parts that could be gotten elsewhere with no hassle. Personally, if this guy had something I wanted for sale, I'd gladly pay a little more money just to avoid having to deal with him, and I'm sure pretty much everybody else on this forum feels the same way now. It's unfortunate for him, but it's his own damn fault for trying to do business with his head up his ass... -
Okay, an idiot is me... I checked the plugs, and one of them was fouled bigger than a baseball hit 500 feet straight backwards. Threw in a new plug, fired 'er up, and she ran AS ADVERTISED. I think the problem was, I was putting around with it too much before, and it doesn't like that.
