What is a moose clutch basket hinson? It's not that hard to replace the cushions but cushions just don't go out. If you want to change them remove the clutch assembly and inner clutch up. Take off the 32mm nut that holds the outer hub and on a aftermarket clutch basket remove the bolts on the backside and replace the cushions and reverse the process.

I got new seals for the steering stem can i just rip those out and leave the nut and bearing in the frame and just have my pc guy tape the area so no pc gets in it and get it powdercoated with it in there? maybe just add more bearing grease after? That lock nut for the bearing is about to piss me off i can't find anything to get it out and i'm not getting a hammer and chisel.

Get new pads and roll with it, you can't help it rubbing they all do.
