  1. thanx bro. I'm sure somebody will come forward soon. I was chatting with a guy in Riverside which isn't too far from me, but stupid me I forget his name.
  2. so no one out there is willing to help? plez i know theres someone close. thanx everybody.
  3. hello, I have two 93 banshees and I purchased almost everything I need to rebuild. i got the cylinder work done, new cranks, new piston kits, billet water impellers, adjustable timing plates, i just got the torque wrenches, Im ready. lol i have two manuals n a dvd, I'm sure I can do it with a lil help. Is there anyone in my area that has rebuilt bottom & top ends, that might be willing to help? Im in Orange, Ca. I am willing to compensate whoever can help out. beer and food provided. Thanx -Michael 714-470-6995 [email protected]
  4. I installed a new billet water impeller in the side cover for my buddies Shee first. I pressed out the bearing n seal. installed new oil seal and the bearing seemed to roll fine so i installed it and the rest of the setup: the pin, gear, washer, then clip. didnt put the gasket and cover yet. wanted to get the input from here 1st before I close 'er up. Question is when I put the washer on I could barely see enough room for the clip to fit, but I still tried to get the clip on and couldnt. so I took a razor blade and took a few scrapes at the underside of the gear where the pin sits, and I finally got the clip in. But its a very tight fit and i triple checked to make sure the clip is secure. But with the tight fit the gear and impeller dont turn as easy as "I THINK" they should. Is the gear rubbing on the underside of the it? Is this something to worry about or will it not even effect the assembly or engine? Am I being paranoid already? My first rebuild and I got my friends and my banshee I just bought to build bottom end and top. Hell Yeah cant wait to get these fine machines going. Thanks Mike
  5. if they dont just go out, and if the play between the basket and the gear isnt(might not be) the cushions then what do you guys think it might be? if its not the cushions. Thanks Again Mike
  6. my friend has a Banshee Moose Clutch Basket Hinson and he said there is some play between the basket and the driven gear. do the cushions need to be replaced and/or how hard is it to replace these on this setup? is this a good setup i was thinking about getting one of these after market baskets. my cylinders cleaned up at 65.25mm should i get an aftermarket basket? thanks mike
  7. Thanks Bro. i appreciate the help
  8. do u think that's what i need from what i said? hope this helps! thank God for lil borthers. man four years ago i was teaching him.
  9. I think its a few rubber bushings in the top and bottom of both front shocks that need to be replaced but not sure. I looked at the parts I needed here at this website but it doesnt specify that the same part number for the top of the shocks works for the bottom of the shocks (http://www.cyclepartswarehouse.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=20728&category=ATVs&make=Yamaha&year=1993&fveh=529). Can someone help? do you know for sure that if I buy four of the (#34 DAMPER, BUSH B 59V-2331R-00-00) parts listed for the tops of the shocks will they also work for the bottom of the shocks? (2 for left side and 2 for right side, top and bottom) I have pictures but I can't get them to post. Darn NEWBIES! Thanks hope I made sense. Mike
  10. Thanks guys
  11. I've seen several different yamabonds out there 4,5,6b,7, etc. which one is the best to use when putting my banshee case back together? Thanks for the input. Mike
  12. if that's the case do you think it just needs to be tightened a little more? if not what do you think my problem is? I had my wheel bearing assembly go out on a 1998 Chevy blazer so that's why i thought it could be a wheel bearing in this case with my Shee. Thanks Mike
  13. The guy I bought it from said the crank bearing went out. the piston came up and hit the head. When i got the bike the motor was already taken apart. It looked like they split the case without removing the flywheel, etc. (the tranny gear clusters where still attached to the clutch and the drive sprocket. also the flywheel, stator and adj timing plate where all still attached to the crank. the bearing stopper plate was broke in two pieces. The flywheel threads are shot, my flywheel puller wouldn't even thread in. Two of the adj timing plate mounts where broke.) this guy sold it to me for $1000 and agreed to help me rebuild my banshee and my friends banshee (same prob needs new crank and top end. our cylinders are at the shop.) when I get the parts for no xtra cost. After seeing what he did to it I am having doubts about having him help us with the two rebuilds. I'm new to learning the ins and outs of the Banshee, I've learned alot so far but I think I know more than him. what do you guys think?
  14. I just bought a 93 banshee, and I've been looking over it seeing what needs to be replaced. I see that the back left tire/rim moves a lil (when you grab it from the top and bottom and wiggle back and forth). Might need to be tightened or I think its the wheel bearings, not sure? I want to get some input on "insurance". I need to replace the crank, top-end, and head. so far. My main question is while I have it open since I don't know how it was taken care of, should I replace the (I think) four bearings on the tranny clusters? Do they usually go bad? Do they spin super fast to where I might need to replace them? Should I do it now? Also, If anyone wants to input on any other things that might need replacing, please feel free. I'm aware of certain mods, but as for now I'm thinking about things that are a little more important such as preventive maintenance. I'm sure I'm getting a high-flow water impeller. Thank for the help! Mike
  15. Thanks for the input!
