  1. haha we need a sarcasm button. I have never seen oxygenated fuel so i have no idea there but the burn isnt cooler and if anything could even be hotter since higher octane means a higher detonation threshold. I am building a 100% pump gas burning engine for my shitbox this time around. the little bit of performance that i got by pushing it didnt outweigh the cost, especially when at little sahara. I was even mixing it 50/50. I always wanted to build a e85 powered banshee when i lived in nebraska but here in NW OK there is no such thing as ethanol in any gas.
  2. soo race gas = more power?
  3. I cant lie, i giggled.
  4. 1 piece or 2 piece. would prefer something that is easily trimmed for ported cylinders. .020 thick.
  5. i am gonna try. still lack a running banshee at this point.
  6. some auto parts stores sell stripper specifically for plastics.
  7. Neato! As i make out my parts list... what kind of key switch did you end up with? why the ltr pump and not the r6 or r1 pump? the external ones seem cheap and plentiful
  8. i think zilla pretty much got it all. the only things i have to add are if you still just want to mill the head i would do about .030 to be safe. Cool heads are pretty and the removable domes are nice but the simplicity of the stock head cant be beat. especially in the realm of simple and cheap mods. A timing plate set at +4 is a decent addition as well. I picked my timing plate up from here on BHQ for $30 used a couple years ago.
  9. you just have to go down even with the ring around the outside edge of the gear. you should not have to gow down into the gear. i did not realize this until reassembly. It will save alot of time and evergy too. just make sure to check they clear the dogs on the mating gear when you reassemble. o and if you are a scatter brain like me, bikebandit.com has a nice exploded view of the transmission and all the washers and clips under the OEM parts section.
  10. Like phelps said I am not sure why he is still a sponsor. I have never and will never give him any money for anything. In the automotive world he would be considered a butcher. His prices and shipping on a lot of stuff are ridiculous too. $100+ for a flywheel? Get real. I bought one from a member here for $60 shipped and it arrived a few days later in perfect shape.
  11. that would depend if you are running resistor caps instead of resistor plugs. most likely you are not but you could take them off just to make sure if you dont know.
  12. its rare but possible for an internal short in the coil grounding out one side. an ohm meter would show you this. The specs might be in the clymers manual or perhaps someone can post them.
  13. as was mentioned the sleeves are frozen and then pressed into the jugs which are warmed in an oven. whoever sleeved the jugs messed up from what you are describing.
  14. I rarely use mine but like was mentioned they are handy on dunes and steep hills or in an oh shit scenario. the last time i had mine apart i am pretty sure it had the original 2001 brake pads in the front.
  15. I am really not sure what his post said. It had the beginnings of a call out but it got lost in a jumble. At least I am not the only dyslexic one.
  16. herp derp derp derp.
  17. never done it myself but if its hollow on the inside just slug it with another piece of steel. heres a video to demonstrate
  18. Did you Fucksticks miss the "Notice" at the top of this forum, or just fucking stupid?
  19. the failure rate is alot higher than the 'old' stuff too. this cannot be argued. stuff on new cars is all throw away. cheap chinese made junk. i looked up the parts needed to put tapered bearings in the stock carrier awhile back but the list is long since lost. parts were not bad at maybe $40 for everything but i never tried converting one to see that all had to be done. at first glance it was pretty simple to do.
  20. i would consider the tapered bearing carrier superior as that is what is used in wheel bearings on cars/trucks/trailers. just my 2cents though.
  21. Would you rather they vote on something that they have never run?
  22. other way around, the 525 polaris uses the ktm engine.
  23. herp derp derp derp. Its a question that makes no sense and that cannot be answered.
